Note for Mods: Before you plan on moving this thread to the poll section, this is not a poll thread but merely just a thread discussing a video that's Pokémon-related.

A popular web show from Screwattack, named Death Battle, where they bring characters from different franchises fight to the death to determine who is the strongest, recently made a video regarding Kanto starter's Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise to determine if the starter we've picked years ago was the right choice.

(Warning: the video contains a bit of strong language and scenes too that may be graphic for younger PC members)

For those who've already watched the video, did you find the video accurate? Which starter should've won that battle?

XD That was hilarious. Especially the part about how Blastoises could've come to be.

Going from their standpoint of doing the battle with no EV training, mega evolutions, and using only level up moves while letting the Pokemon do as they please, their assessment is fairly accurate. But I'm not so sure that Blastoise's victory is that assured; the battles seem to assume that Charizard will go attack it first most of the time and that Blastoise will take a defensive stance until Venusaur is dead. Venusaur does have the power to wreck Blastoise since it lacks a way to boost its Sp.Defense and heal itself (and Venusaur can heal itself, though that can be lessened by Rain Dance). But Blastoise would still win the battle.

If we were to do this with EV training, mega evolutions, and unrestricted movesets, Charizard wins, hands down. Mega Charizard Y's Drought weakens Water attacks and can annihilate Blastoise with Solarbeam, and the raw power of STAB sun boosted Fire Blasts is too much for even Mega Venusaur to handle.

....I think.

Yeah, without any outside influence, Blastoise is indeed the winner. It is quite a tank so, it would certainly be the one to survive the longest. Overall, the video was quite impressive. Course it was quite funny how they thought Blastoise came about.

Blastoise definitely deserved to win that. And if they had a way to use TMs then Blastoise's victory would be even more assured.

I've always considered Blastoise the best out of the 3 if they were going head to head (given the same conditions of no EV training, Mega Evolutions, etc.), so it doesn't really surprise me that it won. I didn't expect them to go into as much depth as they did with the video though- saying they calculated over 7000 possibilities, with Blastoise winning almost half of them.

Even though Charizard has been my favorite since day one, I've always thought of Blastoise as the stronger of the two, with Venusaur being considerably behind both. So yeah, I agree with the outcome, and am actually pretty relieved; when they were introducing the starters, I got this feeling of bias towards Charizard (it got more praise than the other two, and in the beginning of the match it seemed to be the only one dealing damage). Glad they didn't let that go too far and looked at things objectively. I know Charizard is a fan favorite and all.

Oh my god. That was a tad bit mildly extremely violent.

I probably should have known better than to watch that.
But I couldn't resist.

I agree actually. Venusaur stands no chance, not even against a well used Blastoise. In case we're not completely in-game thinking, at least. As they don't seem to be xD

Charizard might win since it's so fast and able to fly. But Blastoise's great defensive skills probably outlasts the others, as they said in the vid. So yeah.
