A temporary Pokémon Center store is scheduled to be open in Paris from June 4 to 21. It will present an exhibition of illustrations from the video games, which will include previously unpublished preliminary sketches.

In addition to the exhibition, the store will also provide an interactive space for fans along with a variety of events, such as a tutorial for attendees on how to draw the franchise mascot Pikachu. An exclusive selection of merchandise from the Japanese Pokémon Centers, including plush toys and t-shirts, will be sold at the store in parallel to these events. Visitors will be able to meet Pikachu itself, who will be greeting its fans and taking pictures with them during the weekends.

Pokémon Center Paris will be open from 10:30 to 19:30 on all 17 days, including Sundays, at the following address:

Crémerie de Paris (Hôtel de Villeroy)
11-15, rue des Halles – angle 9, rue des Déchargeurs
    75001 Paris / France

So, looks like the store will be open for a week or two in France. If you live there, are you planning to go? What are some things that you might buy? :]

I have a friend living in Austria that is spending a weekend in Paris when it opens and he is grabbing me a plushie. :] I don't live there so obviously I can't visit myself, haha.

Hee, my French friends just visited the biggest Pokémon Center in the world a few months back when we were all in Japan, so I doubt they really care. Not to mention they're still here in Asia and won't be back in time, anyway.

But I guess that's kinda neat for those in Paris? I have a bunch of friends there still, need to ask if they plan to go.

As for me, I got all the Poké stuff I wanted from Japan already as well, so I'm set.

I'd love to be able to go to a Pokemon Center like the one they'll be having in Paris, except it'd actually take less time to fly to Japan than it would to France, so I guess I'll be waiting a little bit longer.

It'd be neat if they decided to make this a touring thing, where they'd set up major exhibitions around the world for a week or two at a time, giving everyone the chance to look at exhibits, attend events, and be able to get their hands on a bunch of Pokemon merchandise.

Are there only Pokémon Center stores in Japan today? Proper ones, I mean.

It's really cool that they'll do this. I don't think I'll fly down for it... Unless I can find someone who wants to meet up in Paris and actually make something of a summer vacation weekend out of it. Maybe :B

I don't know how you define proper, but the bottom floor of the Nintendo Store in the Rockefeller Center in NY is a Pokemon Center, if that counts.
