Something me and so friends came up with, its a good challenge and its fun, anyway the rules.

1. You must always have a Pikachu with you it does not matter if he/she is your lead but he/she must be in the party, also he/she must remain a Pikachu you cannot evolve it also it cannot be holding a light ball.

2. You can only use generation 1 pokemon so it does not matter what starter you pick by the time you reach Santalune City you must have your Pikachu at this point you must deposit your starter never to use him again, you can use any 6 you wish so long as they are all first generation I personally use Pikachu as my lead with Butterfree Beedrill Pidgeot Nidoking and Onyx.

3. This is not really a rule but a choice when the time comes for you pick out of the first gen starter you can either chose to use the one you chose or to make it more difficult you can deposit like you did with the gen 6 starters.

4. Your pokemon may only learn moves that they learn while leveling up example pikachu cannot naturally learn grass knot, when it comes to HMs there is an exception because you need them in order to progress you can only teach HM moves to gen 1 pokemon.

5. As for capturing pokemon all pokemon this includes the 6th gen legendary of your game must be caught in pokeballs and you can only carry 99 pokeballs at any given time, as for Mewtwo and the other legendaries its up to the player to continue the challenge or not but the challenges ends after the elite four, you cannot use the 6th gen legendary.

6. You can use the pokebank to save your pokemon for the new game but you cannot use them until the elite four has been cleared.

After you complete the Elite Four the challenge ends and you can do whatever you want, like I said this is not the most difficult challenge ever but it is really fun especially for those who played Pokemon Red Blue and Yellow its a bit of a nostalgia high, Have fun and good luck.

Challenges fit best in the Challenges forum rather than in the Pokemon X & Y section, even if your challenge is intended to be done in the sixth generation games. Check the section rules out over there before remaking your thread! As it stands I don't believe your challenge fits within the guidelines so I can't move it over for you. :(
