I am completely awestruck with the news right now. Hoenn is probably my favourite region! Really pumped!

But how do you think the game will be, considering it's Gen VI? First thing I think of is graphics. From diving, the tropical forests, and even Mt. Chimney, Gamefrwak is probably going to make Hoenn beautiful.

Also, what about X Y compatibly? Obviously we will be able to trade with the other games, but will we have the PSS again? Pokemon Amie? Super Training? Speaking of Wifi and Internet, will the game work with the PokeBank? With the amazing Internet capabilities Pokemon has now and how you can connect with people in so many ways, I feel like the secret bases might make a return, but they are going to be SERIOUSLY revamped.

Well, these are runaway thoughts, but what do you think about how the game will work, in Gen VI?
Wait... If there was a move like Flying Press that did Grass and Water damage, would that mean that Rock/Ground Pokemon would take 8x damage...? O.o

If they decide to use the same engine as XY then I'm not quite sure what to think. They probably will, otherwise these new games could most likely be considered to be part of an entirely new gen.

The thing is that XY played like absolute crap. It was sluggish, filled with restricted movements and invisible walls, and the battles had just about the worst framerate I've ever seen in a video game when the 3D was turned on.

Either they really decide to optimise the current engine, or they decide to take it a step further. They did a great job with look-and-feel in XY, but the controls didn't match the pace. Either they do that, or they decide to take a completely different look at how they could use the 3DS for this kind of game.

I hope they increase the frame rate to be like that of the originals. Also I hope they polish the overworld to make it sleaker.
I'm currently working on some novels. If you're interested you can read them here:

LOL...um, "Gamefrwak"?

In any case, I'm hoping that the framerate is optimized from what it was in XY... The visuals will be absolutely stunning with Hoenn's diverse locales (ranging from volcanoes to underwater to peaceful islands to treetop city to rocky crags to a desolate power plant to a floating-on-Corsola-and-water log-based town to the partially icy Shoal Cave), and I can't wait to observe them!

The environment will receive a major boost if a day/night feature and seasons return as gameplay features; one of the biggest criticisms of Ruby/Sapphire was the lack of the time feature that was put to good use in Gold/Silver/Crystal, so I'm hoping that OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire will make amends in regards to that!

I'm anticipating that the Hoenn Battle Frontier will be much more fun due to the physical/special split and re-usable TMs (both of which I imagine to be the biggest boons for Hoenn); preparing Pokemon for battle will be so much easier now.. Even EV-Training and general leveling up have been greatly streamlined from the shoddy/tedious variants from Ruby/Sapphire, so those will be great pluses.

I would really appreciate it if they capitalised on the beauty and showing the occasional animations and happenings around the game. Small stuff like diving into Sotopolis or using the Cable Car could really be awesome to see. Nobody has got the chance to see Hoenn's starlight yet, as the D/N feature was sorely missed in those games. Changing that in 3D would be totally cool too.

I would like it if the maps they make have beautiful landscapes at the distance, maybe emerging cliffs or the active Mt. Chimney. Collecting Soot for the Soot Sack would be fun, too.

Thoughts
- Weather Institute now has Deerling, Sawsbuck, Snover, Abomasnow, those weather boosting stones, Tornadus, Thunderus... to deal with.
- Steel versus Ghost & Dark
- Acrobatics Winona?
-Double Grass
- More Inversion Battles? Inversion vs Tate/Liza?
- Soot Sack 2.0 ... new glass items?
- Will that Glaceon stone be north of Mossdeep?
- Ninjas and Ninjaboys. Will Janine visit Koga?
- Will using HM Cut on tall grass STILL be a thing of the past?
- Wally... Mega Gardevoir? Or Mega Gallade like a boss?
- Magnetism to evolve Magneton and Nosepass. Where do we go?
- Will we finally get to "surf" on lava outside a spin off?
- Those Lati megas...

The graphics will probably look amazing in 3D. Hoenn was such a big region in terms of environmental diversity, and they're going to replicate that in ORAS with the new style Pokemon games took up in generation VI. I can't wait to see how the game looks; I'm sure it'll be nothing less than stunning. n__n

As for the actual game play, I imagine they're going to use the same engine as X and Y, which is perfectly fine. I'd like to see them smooth out some technical issues with the frame rate and lag. There's also a lot of potential for them to add more detail to the battle scene backgrounds with all of the manifold areas in Hoenn.

I'm sure all of X and Y's issues will be improved, remember when Gen 4 started? The battle system was sluggish, slow, and painful, but as Gen 4 progressed, so did the speed.
Gen 6 has just started, and Pokemon has been completely overhauled, we'll definitely see an improvement this time round, I'm certain of it! (I never even noticed any of these problems, apart from the 3D frame rate but I never use 3D anyway)

I think Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire would like very similar as to how X and Y looked. I think they might improve the graphics just a little to make it look better. Although I prefer Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness graphics, I still think OR and AS will still look great. One thing I hope they do is have the battles look like as they did in Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness where the trainers are visible in full animations on the field and where the Pokemon's feet are touching the floor instead of just standing on some circle. I didn't like that in XY, although there were a few exceptions (like the first rival battle in the game) where the Pokemon's feet touched the floor. I liked that. Also, I don't want anymore trainer sprites, I want the full models (in XY, only the rivals and professor Sycamore had full models when entering a battle). I hope they add Day/Night into the game. I hope the PokeNav comes back and work like a crossover between the original PokeNav and PokeGear (from Heart Gold and Soul Silver). I'm pretty sure features from XY like PSS, Pokemon-Amie, and Super Training will come back. I really hope they take out the Exp. Share, or at least make it to how it used to be.

Hoenn is a beautiful region which was definitely the most fortunate for a 3D Remake. I'm just really looking forward to seeing the towns, cities, routes etc in 3D, especially the iconic areas such as Mt. Chimney, Sky Pillar etc.

As for the features then I'm sure we will see the return of the features that were exclusive to Ruby & Sapphire i.e Contests, Battle Frontier, Secret Bases etc.

I'm curious about how they'll handle some of the field moves.

The ones that come to mind are Dive and Rock Smash. They could simply add Dive in as HM06, but Rock Smash is already a TM and Field Move.

Rock Smash was used in the early game to block progress. Specifically, there's smashable rocks that block early access to Verdanturf. Then, there's also the smashable rocks in Route 111 that blocks off most of the Route (and, by extension, Fallarbor Town).

But since Rock Smash is no longer an HM, and thus its field use is not regulated by HM, the smashable rocks are no longer an effective hindrance. You could skip straight to Verdanturf, and from there, to Lavaridge without gaining a single badge. Sure, the level gap would prevent doing that from being a walk in the park, but it'd be possible.

Most likely, they will simply add additional roadblocks. Maybe some overzealous workers will close down the tunnel completely after the incident with Mr. Briney's beloved Peeko, preventing you from using it.

Similarly, Team Magma or Aqua will probably block the stairs on Route 112 leading to the cable cars and Fiery Path. Then, after beating Wattson, the grunts will relocate to right in front of the cable cars (like in the originals), and the worker would relent.

Or another option would be to make Rock Smash HM07, and create some new TM94 to replace it. This would work because TMs are no longer tradeable.

Other, smaller issues would be Flash and Secret Power, neither of which are required. However, of the two, Secret Power would be the bigger issue, as it's not a TM and would need a reusable Move Tutor.

Or, if they make Rock Smash HM07, they could make Secret Power TM94. Or, they could just make it so that you use a Key Item to open Secret Bases.

It's probably going to be this:
HM01 Cut
HM02 Fly
HM03 Surf
HM04 Strength
HM05 Rock Smash
HM06 Waterfall
HM07 Dive
TM94 Secret Power.

All they have to do is to make Rock Smash an HM again. Problem solved. Now as for Flash, you can use it before you defeat Brawly. I don' think there is a problem with that.

Maybe location-based evolutions won't be in the game at all. HG and SS didn't have them.

BW included locations for Pokemon to evolve and since XY didn't, I'd think that ORAS actually will. At least, it's hopeful because I'd rather not go through the headache of doing all the evolving in BW and having to do all the transfers involved just to get a Magnezone or something in ORAS.

I'm expecting New Mauville to evolve Magneton / Nosepass, a Moss Rock in Petalburg Woords, and an Ice Rock in Shoal Cave's basement. Because of this, they'll add Probopass and Magneton to the Hoenn Pokedex.

Of course, HGSS didn't add any locations, so maybe not.

XY has them. Route 13 (by the power plant) will evolve Magnezone and Probopass, the Winding Woods (by Pokemon village) has a Moss Rock, and Frost Cavern has an Ice Rock.

Goes to show you how much you miss when you don't play the game thoroughly. That's interesting; wondering if the inclusion of them in XY will mean nothing in ORAS... a similar situation as DPPt/HGSS, which was incredibly frustrating.

I hope that they'll break the remake curse of not having the method of evolving the eeveelutions after the generation's introduction...if not then we'll have to evolve Leafeon and Glaceon in the original pair (plus third version)...again... with the addition of Sylveon. Sure hope they include Aime and the rocks, or at least items to replace those places/ mechanic.

It'll have more gates than the GBA version, that's for sure
Gates? What are you talking about? Hoenn doesn't need gates. owo

Considering the discussion of Rock Smash... Hmm... yeah, they need to bring it back as an HM. Otherwise, despite Rock Smash available at Mauvile, anybody can just trade a Pokemon with Rock Smash and skip most of Hoenn that way.

And I wish they'd include location-evolution in ORAS as well. I really wanted to use a Glaceon back at HGSS as well as B2W2, but surprise surprise, the rocks are not available in the former and post-game in the latter. I don't want to see that happening again in ORAS. .3.

Actually it did have gates, however, both belong to the Cycling Road xD.

I think they'll pull a B2W2 considering that Eevee and it's evolutions aren't in the dex and I doubt they'll add them in like that. Or worse they do pull a HGSS, continuing the Eeveelution curse in Remakes of not appearing unless they were introduced by the remake generation. Actually...I wonder if they'll even have Eevee available in these games...

I just hope we have a massive variety of water tiles to indicate depth. :E

Also, it would be strange for this not to work with PokeBank. ...maybe even an expansion for PokeBank? One can hope.
I just hope importing Pokemon from XY to ORAS with the use of PokeBank does not use real money :O

It's kinda hard if it needs real money tho coz you have to trade it in two 3DS's I believe? I don't know how GF will pull it off tho xD
