6th Gen Gamblin' all my money away in Mauville City...

As you may or may not know, in the original RSE, there was a casino Game Corner in Mauville City that was its biggest tourist attraction in-universe. However in the interim years, thanks largely to the moral guardians out there, gambling in Pokémon games has become taboo. In the European version of Platinum and the global version of HeartGold/SoulSilver, the Game Corner was replaced by a logic-based puzzle known as the Voltorb Flip Game and Game corners disappeared altogether in later games.

Do you expect the game corner to make a return in any shape or form?
Do you think it will be the Voltorb Flip Game or another minigame altogether?

Aw I'd like the Game Corner to return as it was. But I also wouldn't mind some different, more puzzle-y games. I actually did like Voltorb Flip but having just that was kinda boring; I'd rather there be multiple ways to earn coins.

Oh yeah...Europe's ban...
I hope they find a way around it. Or maybe make them into an arcade with little mini games. Like Minun and Plusle jumping across a stage similar to Mario games... Maybe Gallade going to save the lost Princess Gardevoir from the evil Emboar.

Lol if they do this then the games will have gained fame for international comedy. But then again, they could pull something weird like the PokéStar studios instead.

Yeah, I got the idea from all the parodies they did with Pokestar studios. This time it's games! Maybe Registeel will battle against monsters and fight with lazer cannons and kicks as he (actually she) proves himself (herself). Oh and Klefki battles dark Durants alongside Psyduck and Stoutland and the ocasional help of a King Pikachu. Anyone who gets the refences get's a cookie.

But then some kind of Pokémon plays, maybe conducting them in what used to be the Game Corner then? I don't see how that would profit the player though.

Maybe they'd actually replace the Game Corner with like... PokéAthlons or a better version of musicals or another sort of PokéStar or just something completely different to remove the gambling thing entirely. I dunno. I'd rather they not but hey, it wouldn't be too bad I guess.

I wouldn't mind the Pokeathlon reappearing.

That dang cute as toot roulette game is all mine. Like, seriously, who couldn't love that game? But honestly all I ever did was BUY the coins to get all the doll sand the TMs. :x

I hope they revamp and make the Game Corner better, rather than turning it into crap like they did in HGSS. I'd love some slots, and maybe some kinda Pokemon Old Maid style game, possibly a Pokemon Rock-Paper-Scizor?

I dont know maybe we can have the entrance to New Mauville on there instead on the side of Cycling Road or maybe even the Friend Safari or the new Trick House! It's full of possibilities but I think the Game Corner will have to get removed tho :(

I don't think the Game Corner will be returning, because of Europe's anti-gambling laws that led to the redesign of the non-Japanese HG/SS Game Corner to have Voltorb Flip and the removal of Game Corners altogether after that.

But I'm hoping the Trick House will come back, I'd love to see what rewards you get for finishing its puzzles.

The new game in town is Tauros-Tipping. Teenagers go out at night and try to tip Tauros on his side.

Oh my god, I never thought about that! You'd be handed over a red-and-white cape with a Pokéball in the centre, and Tauros would think you're trying to capture him!

I'm alright with it not returning unless it's replaced by Voltorb Flip. That's difficult and doesn't yield as great a reward as it deserves to. If anything it could just be replaced with whatever the new variant of the Pokemon Battle Tent is, if the original gambling events are going to be banned altogether.

I'd personally like the card games that were in Pokemon Crystal. That was THE best. Period.

I WILL BREAK THE TABOO AND RETURN THE CASINO TO ITS FORMER LIFE.
Oh, uh, I mean, I hope the Game Corner we all knew and love returns. The music sounds very casino-y to be honest.

If it doesn't return then, please, please don't make Voltorb Flip return.
Also, I hope they let us buy coins, I always get rich in the games and just buy coins instead of playing, then use those coins to earn them fab prizes.

Maybe they could make it into a carnival with carnival games. In return we can get plushies and other things for our secret base.

Sigh...thanks a lot, European legislation. -_- *flashbacks to HG/SS pre-release period regarding Voltorb Flip* I understand the rationale behind trying to curb the development of a potential gambling addiction in real life, but as long as you're not wagering real money in a manner that can adversely impact you in real life, I don't see that much of a problem..

Wow: I didn't even know that a precursor to Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver's Voltorb Flip even existed in Pokemon Crystal! :o

Anyways, if we can't have slot machines and roulettes in Mauville Game Corner, I'd like there to be some suitable replacement, be it Voltorb Flip (preferably) or a Hoenn Pokeathlon or a completely new minigame - so there can be more incentive in revisiting Mauville City aside from getting to the Day Care couple/breeding, and 3DS Mauville City can attempt to resemble its prime Game Boy Advance incarnation.. Otherwise, there's going to be quite the reassignment/re-distribution of the numerous Mauville Game Corner Technical Machines (TMs) and Poke Dolls to somewhere else (such as Lilycove Department Store or the Hoenn Battle Frontier)...

On a side-note, does anyone know what the "BD" in "BD Time/BDタイム" (localized as "Reel Time" apparently; applicable to the Mauville Game Corner) was literally supposed to mean in the Japanese editions of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire? Maybe I'll finally be able to hear this track more reliably in AlphaSapphire... XD

I would like to see Mauville City's Game Corner stay in. Course if the slot machines get replaced with some stupid Minesweeperesque mini game, I will not be happy.

I just hope it's something fun, and not as difficult as Voltorb flip...but yet not too easy.
