So typically, remakes/third versions contain move tutors of some kind. Do you think they'll play out the same here as they did in previous gens, using colored shards as currency for moves? Do you think there any any particular moves that are likely to be taught via this method?

I think the moves that changed attack types (ie, Ion Deluge) would probably be taught in this manner. They don't have any TMs for them, and I believe most of them are learnt through the move relearner, so they are fairly obscure.

Dive for tutor. Yes~

Um more seriously.

I'd like for all of the B2W2 tutors to come back. Adding Draining Kiss, Grass terrain, Sticky Web, and Petal Blizzard (So physical grass types can get it!)

So, do you guys think that ORAS will have the same move tutor from the days of R/S/E? Or do you think it's gonna be different all together? If it's the same which moves are you glad to be able to get(For.me it's softboiled on Clefable)

The shard Move Tutor is cool, but so is the Battle Frontier one to trade points for cool moves like Rock Slide (which my Aggron badly needed). I guess they should make it like random NPCs in and about the games can teach you moves, but indefinitely, and for a cost. That would be a good compromise, like maybe the Rollout Guy in Mauville would require a Yellow Shard to teach Rollout? It would be cool.

As for the original Move Tutor (now known as Move Rememberer, I think?) he could stay there, content in Fallarbor, ready to make our Pokémon remember moves for some pointless Heart Scales that we can get by mass capturing Luvdisc.

I really want ORAS to have some good move tutors in it. I was a bit annoyed that X/Y didn't have the Black2/White2 move tutors in them. I need mah move tutors...

I'm just hoping that they'll add move tutors at ORAS. I mean, normally games of the main series after the generation's first game have move tutors.

Plus, I want tutor moves.

I think the Move Tutors in OR/AS will be a mix, using Emerald's Move Tutors (the one-time use Move Tutors spread across Hoenn, and the 2 Battle Frontier ladies) as well as a lot of new moves (like what Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver did). The elemental Fire/Water/Grass Hyper Beams, the Pledge moves, Draco Meteor, Secret Sword, and Relic Song seem like "mainstay" Move Tutors at this point, so I think those ones will appear somewhere for sure. I would prefer it if the "one-time use Move Tutors" were consolidated into a single Move Tutor in the Battle Frontier, as it's a pain having to remember where each particular Move Tutor is. Also, ALL Move Tutors should be repeatedly tutorable, not that "one-time-only" stuff from Emerald, especially since Technical Machines don't break after one use anymore (and Move Tutors are basically non-portable TMs nowadays).. Double-Edge, DynamicPunch, and Explosion are great examples of moves that are great on multiple Pokemon but were restricted by their limited availability in Emerald.. Hopefully, OR/AS can rectify that problem.

As for currency, if the Move being tutored isn't free (and "free" would be much more preferable), I would prefer it if all Move Tutors just used Battle Points to streamline the process, rather than Shards (I found it ridiculous that Dragon Pulse, a commonly-needed/used, good alternative to Draco Meteor, had such a high Shard requirement in Pokemon Black 2/White 2). The Shard requirements in Platinum look so convoluted, and I don't know why Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver absolutely nailed things in terms of all Move Tutors being either free or requiring only Battle Points, while B2W2 decided to go back to the unwieldy Shard mechanic.. Although Shards could be more manageable now due to Compoundeyes Ability's overworld effect (increasing the chance that wild Pokemon are holding items when they are encountered) and certain Shards being assigned to certain Pokemon, Shards in retrospect just seem unnecessary to me and complicate something that could easily be solved with Battle Points.

I'm hoping some of the "suckish" Move Tutor moves of Emerald (like Mud-Slap, Mega Punch, Snore, although there are more suckish moves) get replaced with powerful/usable Moves.. Many of the good, usable HG/SS and B2W2 Move Tutor moves need to be retained in OR/AS, as well as any of the good/usable TM moves from Generation 5 that fell victim to the "TM List restructuring/overhaul" of Generation 6 by being replaced by suckish moves.

I really want ORAS to have some good move tutors in it. I was a bit annoyed that X/Y didn't have the Black2/White2 move tutors in them. I need mah move tutors...
Yeah, I really hate how Pokemon Black and White inexplicably lacked a lot of viable/good Move Tutor moves, only to have B2W2 have to come around and fix BW's mistakes/flaws, only to have XY essentially repeat BW's mistake by omitting a lot of Move Tutors/usable moves yet again.
Here's hoping that OR/AS is the answer to XY's Move Tutor "mistake".. >_>

Yeah, I really want to see some good Water type move tutors, because there wasn't a TM for Hydro Pump and it was a pain to not evolve Mudkip until Lv 43 or so to get it. I also didn't see why the heck they even considered having Mud Slap as a teachable move, as it's just Sand Attack with some damage. I completely agree that Tutors should be repeated teaching, because TMs are practically infinite now and important moves are always appreciated for more than one member in a team.

I'm thinking that they would have more move tutors divided into each of the 6 generations. Kinda not good if you only have move tutors up to Gen 3 right?

That's true, considering many moves would work differently due to the new Physical/Special split, and many Pokémon would benefit differently from them.

I'd like to see a move tutor for bug moves, it's annoying how little useful moves they have early in the game. The Shard Tutor was a pretty cool feature in RSE, so they should bring that back in ORAS. This part of pokemon games is usually underrated, but I really appreciated it in previous games. d:

Vanilla versions traditionally don't have Move Tutors, only remakes and third versions/sequels. They've been doing this since D/P.

Since ORAS is a remake, you bet they're bringing back Move Tutors, and it'll most likely be the same moves from B2/W2 plus a couple of new ones introduced in Gen VI.

Move tutors is something I am looking forward to, and nigh a given too going by previous games (a dangerous thing to do, but nonetheless I think here it's a safe bet.). And with a possible Battle Frontier and the fact Emerald did something similar too... I think it's even more of a sure thing.

Just... no one-time-only sort of business, please. That would such. Go with BPs or shards or something. I felt that made good use of the side/post game content, and encouraged people to say use the Underground more, or try out more challenges in the Battle Frontier to get their moves.

I'd like for them to keep the tutors as they were in the originals but also add a mix of later generation moves along with some Fairy type moves.

In the past I haven't taken advantage of Move Tutors all that much, but that was when I wasn't experienced with playing the games well or caring about all the stuff on the side, so hopefully there's stuff available this time around, and earlier so they're actually useful for once.

I'd definitely love for non-Pokemon/type specific Move Tutors to return and for them to take shards or BP rather than have them be a one time only thing. It'd also be neat if the moves provided were a mix of Move Tutor moves from Emerald, Pt/HGSS, and BW2, though I have a feeling they might just stick with BW2's Move Tutor moves (plus some sixth gen. moves). Whatever the case, I just want them back.

I could definitely see them make changes to the move tutors. Tons of new moves had been introduced since generation three, and without their help, some Pokémon just won't be able to learn them. Personally, I think it'd be great if they could add another of these tutors in Battle Frontier somewhere; once that are within towns and cities would teach Hoenn-exclusive moves, if that makes sense, and one that's in Frontier will be teaching other things. d:

I actually like this idea, like in some places in mainland Hoenn, they could have Pre-Gen 3 moves while the Battle Frontier could have Post-Gen 3 moves! I think GF should do this imo.

Oh boy, there are so many Tutor moves I'd like to see in ORAS:
Hyper Voice, Outrage, Superpower, Focus Punch, Stealth Rock, elemental Punches, Dragon Pulse, Double Edge, Metronome, Moonblast, Icy Wind, Signal Beam, Giga Drain, Knock Off, Endeavor, Trick, Heat Wave, Drain Punch, Sucker Punch and Iron Head.

I hope they will charge BP or something instead of Shards, 'cause they're always pretty hard to find in a big number. If they have to charge you Shards, then the moves should be better spread across. In B2W2 I felt like I always needed more Green Shards, while I had way more Red Shards than I needed.

The best would be if they made every move available that you could get in the prior generations. That would at least get rid of the hassle importing them from an older gen (and breeding with them as egg moves would be a little bit easier).
