I just did this. I had no real inspiration. Just a line ran through my head and I worked off that.

In the deep darkness of the night
I hear the saddened news,
I remember the grisly fight,
The blood spilling, the murder, the killing,
The pain of a sword hitting one's back,
The quick retreats, the enemy following our tracks,
The suprise of an ambush instead of a straight forward attack,
The cries of pain, my closest friends calling my name,
The cold feeling when you see someone fall dead,
That small voice in the back of my head
Telling me to run before I too fall in a bloody heap,
I lay there in bed as I cry and I weep,
The pain I get when I remember,
That cold dark night back in September.

Fair enough.

Kinda.. I don't know, but I'm listening to Vincent by Josh Groban (A re-do of Don McLean's one) and it kinda.. reminded me of the song, as I was reading that and listening to the song.

Download the song and you'll see what I mean.

Not the same words or anything, but just kinda related..

Oooh, this poem was pretty good Khaos Angel. ^^ This poem really shows what war is like. It depicts the feelings and the repercussions that old war veterans go through.

They see their families and loved ones die while theu keep on living. I can only imagine what those feelings must be like for them. Some may even feel unworthy of their own plight. They might think "Why is it that my friends had to die while I still live on?". They may feel as though they don't deserve to still be alive.

Great work Khaos, keep up the shweet poems! ^.~
