Oh Raine you got your name change! :) I thought it had too many posts or was too new or something.
Hehe, yes! :D Thank you for noticing~ I think the admin are getting around to all those name change requests that has been collecting the past week XD Been planning this baby since I joined actually, heh.

IMO it does look a bit better than your old name. Then again, it follows a format I really like (short human name that identifies). :3

ehehe oops. it's so daunting when they build up and you're like "noooo i dont wanna ):" and it just gets worse, even though it's not that big a deal.

I agree :P I never personally liked having a space in my username, anywhere, so it only made sense to change it -3- And it was probably confusing for some people who know my real name, but then I tell them to call me by my alias, but at the same time I had 'Vanille Sky' so it was like @[email protected]

Procrastination at it's best. But thanks for changing it! :D

Vanille Sky was a much better first username than my first username, though.

-goes to inspect profile- What was the story behind choosing it? By the way, I think Terabyte suited you considering you're the mod for the tech section :P

I remember when I got a thousand posts it was so special and emotional, and now all I do is cap every 500 and move on. I don't understand what's so special about how many times you've successfully submitted a particular database query on a forum website, really.

When I got my first 1,000 a couple weeks ago I was pretty excited. I'll probably be excited until I hit 10,000 posts and then everything will be the same old same old. I hold my post count dear because I feel it shows my contribution to the site; which is also why I feel I need to post a lot more, since I only started up posting two or so months ago.

I only judge myself on posts. I like watching the number go up, but I never look at anyone else's - it's weird but I like stats so it works for me!

e: that first sentence means "I judge myself but no one else on posts", not "I judge myself only by the metric of posting".

For the longest of time I remember being jealous of having one of the lowest post counts on PC, but my activity from last year and this year just flipped that around.

Before I got 1K I felt the same way. Now I've taken to the philosophy of showing my contributions and dedication to PC through what I post as opposed to how often. It does help having at least 1K, though, as it's not hard. :p

I felt the same before 2 and 3k... even at 3k I still felt like I had a tiny post count given that I've been here since January '12, but I feel better now haha. :3c Postcount doesn't mean as much to me now but a higher one is still... comfortable imo lol

I'm still jealous of having a small post count compared to how long I've been around.
You can make it up there eventually :) I'd say that it's not a difficult thing, but it really depends on how much you can be on PC as well

i've been in here for 6 years

and only 1k posts wtf

this is why trivia and other forums that didn't count post count needed to be enabled sooner

It's just a number though. Then again, it's not good to be a number.

DON'T LET YOUR POST COUNT BE A NUMBER.

edit: Oh my god I did not just kill the thread. :|

I say let it be. It'd be better to judge someone's activity and ability to contribute, along with their demeanor and a bunch of other things than treat a statistic on their postbit as a means of validation of some sort.

Differently said, I've seen people with massive post counts with no interest in talking to them due to their demeanor/attitude, and certain members who were absolutely amazing without a post to their name. Besides, I feel freer without the status of a number in relation to the same number possessed by other people in the back of my mind day in and day out, but that's likely just me. :p

More shortly and frankly put, I'd find people more fit to judge by their avatar than by their postcount, not that that isn't by any means illogical in itself. :^

On a very serious note, all of this. At the end of the day, post count should mean nothing. 50 posts and amazing person to be around > person with 50,000 posts and just really unpleasant.

Anyways, enough about post count. I...had a creepy time at the park today...

Not saying that this applies to everyone, or even anyone, who has an enormous amount of posts, but maybe because that's all they care about? Post count, and they actually don't care about interacting with the community \:
