Well, Arcanine can learn Close Combat...maybe it'd make a decent Fire/Fighting-type as a Mega Evolution?! :P But in looking at its moves I would rather expect it to be a Fire/Dragon-type as it can learn Outrage and Dragon Pulse...

But I feel like Mega Ampharos wouldn't have been completely out of place as an Electric/Fairy-type instead of Electric/Dragon.

Fortunately Fighting types aren't always bipedal (e.g. Keldeo, Terrakium). I'd laugh so hard when they gave Arcanine a Mega that's also a Fighting type, but the only visual differense would be that it wears a bandana. {XD}

Sadly, I'm not sure if fighting-type would suit Arcanine very well; in my eyes, it doesn't seem like much of a fighter, and I'm sure there are many others out there who could agree. If it does wind up to be partially fighting, however, only advantage I'm able to see of this is that Mega-Arcanine would have same-type attack bonus on fighting moves it has access to, such as Close Combat (as stated previously).

As far as ability goes, I'd like it if it were something along the lines of Moxie. When it gets sent into field, Arcanine would be in its original state with Intimidate, lowering opponent's Attack stat slightly so that it could endure a couple of extra hits; then, mega-evolve, set-up, and we would be able to take everything off from there with help of Moxie.

If Mega-Arcanine does gain an ability like this, I could imagine it to be used a lot more often in competitive scene, which should be good news!

Well, I can get why some think we've had enough Fire/Fighting-types for one series. At the same time I do feel kinda sorry for Emboar based on how hard it gets trashed on, though.

I cannot see how Arcanine could become Fire/Fighting with a Mega Evolution. The design wouldn't work and as it looks much like a Wolf and is "The Legendary Pokemon", it's second type for a Mega Evolution should either be Dragon (Legendary) or Dark (Wolf). You could get so many amazing designs out of that typing and the attacks would suit it, too. Plus, there are already enough Fire/Fighting types.

I'm sort of the same with Emboar. It has a lot to live up to with it's older siblings being such great Pokemon, namely Blaziken and Infernape. Also, it didn't help that GameFreak decided to introduce Emboar as the third Fire/Fighting type starter in a row, his hate would have probably been severely less if he was introduced in a another generation.

I'm curious. Is there anyone else who never had the joy to trade Pokemon?

I traded once, but it was more of transferring few Pokemon to have them from the start of the game.

I have never actually traded Pokemon just for the joy of trading, to give soething someone needs and to get something I need or want. Kinda depressing lol.

I've done a lot of Wonder Trading and GTS trading (in fact I almost got my entire Pokedex in X filled up using mostly the GTS). But that's all thanks to how easy Gen 6 has made trading; when I think back to prior generations, I didn't trade at all.

Also yesterday it took me three hours to fill three boxes with random stuff only to manually trade some of my Pokemon from X to OR and even after those three boxes, there are still a lot of Pokemon on my X version waiting to get transferred. Not having access to Pokebank can be really annoying and tedious. ^^"

I used to trade Pokemon back when DPPt were the latest games. I used to trade to collect Pokemon, so I could IV Breed and for battling. In fact, I had quite a few trade shops in the past. I really enjoyed trading and everything, not too sure why, but it really appealed to me.

I used to be a big trader, but not that much now unfortunately. This was before RNG was a common thing to do, in Gen 4, so a lot of my Pokemon were worth more. Now I don't have many Pokemon to trade, as most of my Pokemon are incorrectly EV'd or they're shiny, but have useless natures.

I did do a bit of trading over Wi-Fi in Generation V, when B2W2 were new as well as in 2013, and early in 2014 while XY were relatively new as well. But nowadays I haven't been doing as much trading, and i'm a bit tired of people asking for my FC as i'm not online often (and why are you people asking for my FC anyway? Do you really want a Safari with Combee?!).

Since Im often here and you guys are pretty cool, I could just say bye here as well (details on the leaving/returning thread). I'll be leaving this forum for the time being, not sure when I'm coming back.

And just to stay ontopic, ya'll can discuss how Rayquaza is the best Pokemon ever!

See ya, Sven!

Rayquaza is one of my most hated Pokemon. It's design isn't particularly appealing and it's Mega form is ridiculous in terms of stats. Not to mention the design, which just makes it seem like they ran out of ideas for how to improve it, could've been a lot more epic imo. But that's just me :3

This, however, is a beauty:

I love wonder-trading, to be honest.

I'm not much of a trader, personally, but this brings a ton of fun into the thing; whenever we enter and send a Pokémon away, we never know what we're going to get in-return. Very fond of the mysterious vibe it's got. I've got a ton of good and bad (well, not precisely bad, but I don't find them to be too useful in general) Pokémon from wonder trade, with one of my most favorites being shiny Riolu.

Riolu seemed to have had Adamant nature, which fits it perfectly when it comes to competitive. On top of that, the Pokémon also seemed to have had decent IVs (not perfect, unfortunately, but I'm not complaining; I was satisfied, haha). Sadly, my router isn't connecting to my 3DS right now, but when it does, I'll get back into wonder-trading again.

This talk about Rayquaza is bringing me back to like 2005, when a certain former(?) Smogon admin lost a tourney against one that used Fly. And then a year later, I remember a funny picture that had Rayquaza wearing a clown nose and saying to use it in JAA and give it Fly. Sadly, I can't find that picture anywhere now. ):

Rayquaza is cool, but in OR I've only used it once during the Delta Episode and even then the whole battle consisted of me throwing one Quick Ball at Deoxys.

I just finished breeding my first ORAS competitive mon. It's an Empoleon. Training took forever which is why I should look for some Blissey bases; also I forgot that Defog isn't a Move Tutor move, so I guess Stealth Rock it is... xD

I didn't know that Rayquaza's catch rate was boosted to 45 in ORAS (from what someone here mentioned), so I wouldn't have wasted my Master Ball on it had I known that. I traded another one from X and caught Ho-Oh with it.

And I still haven't bred anything competitive in ORAS, all my high IV'd stuff still awaits in X or Bank.

Rayquaza's increase in catch rate surprised me as well. Like, half health and one single pokeball catches it? What is this nonsense. But it definitely made catching Deoxys more tolerable if I accidently killed it.

Competitive breeding always intrigued me. Especially those who did it constantly, like, just pumping out these high IV babies is amazing. Breeders have such high dedication and patience.

While I'm currently working on my third box full of competitive Pokemon, I don't have the patience to breed for certain Hidden Powers. I'd really like to get an HP Ice M-Manectric or HP Fire Magnezone, but relying on random number drops is even more annoying in these cases as it is when not caring about HPs and I'm also not a fan of asking others to do the job.

Also I really respect people who manage to SR their legendaries. I tried it once and I gave up really fast. xD

Capturing Rayquaza for the first time in Pokémon Ruby, for me, was simply painful. It had taken me about three to four days in total, if I remember correctly. I had made sure to reduce its health to as low as I possibly could before attempting to throw any Poké Balls, and while that did seem to help slightly, it still wasn't enough to have the Pokémon successfully captured. Not sure if I was out of luck, but it was kind of frustrating.

Soft-resetting--I've done it once before in Diamond version to encounter shiny Giratina. However, I wasn't able to catch it, as I accidentally wound up making the Pokémon faint. When I'd reset again so that I could re-battle Giratina, its shiny form seemed to have been gone, and I didn't want to put any more effort into getting a hold of its shiny form afterward.

As far as breeding goes, unfortunately, I'm not that great at it. I could definitely improve if I start looking into its mechanics more and practice, though!

Don't remind us of Rayquaza in RSE x_x Not only did it hit super hard at Level 70, but it had Rest to heal up, and it wasn't helped by the fact that it could kill itself in confusion with Outrage.

And in White 2, back in October 2012, I managed to get a Jolly Terrakion with 31 Attack and Speed after quite a few soft resets. The day before that, I caught Kyurem, and the first try that I did, it had max Speed and right near max Special Attack. (Not that I battled competitively, but they were decent for collection purposes.)

I remember when the Reshiram I caught in my first Black playthrough was a Modest nature, and I didn't even soft-reset for it. I traded it to my Black 2 save a while after that, but it was sadly lost when the file corrupted which was a complete blow.
Gone forever for personal reasons.

It's very rare for me to be capturing Pokémon with decent nature and EV spread. Last time this had happened, if I remember correctly, was about four to six months ago while going through my second run of Y version; somehow, I managed to get a hold of Adamant Machop. This nature in particular is very useful for a Pokémon like this, as it tends to rely on physical-based moves a lot (Adamant boosts its Attack stat).
