So myself and a couple of co-workers were chatting during our breaks today, and we came up with an interesting scenario:
For whatever reason, something major has happened in your life, and you've got no choice but to move away from where you currently live- without any friends, family or loved ones, for at least 12 months. Luckily, you've been granted a one way plane ticket to anywhere in the world, so you can move anywhere you'd like. You'll be provided with basic amenities once you get there (shelter, food, electricity, hot water, etc.), and they'll be available until you're able to provide for yourself. And if you decide to move out of the country, all immigration obstacles have been taken care of, so the sky's the limit.
So with that said, where would you go? Would you go somewhere that has a more upbeat/laid back lifestyle, one with a bustling job market, a place with a completely different culture than what you're used to, etc.? Is it somewhere that you'd want to stay permanently, or would you move back home as soon as possible? I'm curious to hear what some other people would do in this situation if they were faced with it.
