    - Week #1 -

    Think you have what it takes to be PokeCommunity's best gamer? Prove yourself in PC's Year of Gaming Challenges! Each week a new game will be picked to see who has what it takes to get the highest score in a game ranging from old school to current modern classics. The people with the top 3 scores will be given emblems due to their abilities. If you have a recommendation on what we should play next, send me a VM/PM and we'll see what we can do!​

    "The player controls Pac-Man through a blue maze, eating pac-dots (also called pellets) and fruit. When all pac-dots are eaten, Pac-Man is taken to the next stage. Four enemies (Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde) roam the maze, trying to catch Pac-Man. If an enemy touches Pac-Man, a life is lost and the Pac-Man itself withers and dies. When all lives have been lost, the game ends. Pac-Man is awarded a single bonus life at 10,000 points by default."

    ᗣ. After losing your last life, take a screenshot of your score and comment below with it.

    ᗣ. You have an unlimited amount of tries to get the high score. However, only the top 3 scoring members will obtain an emblem.

    ᗣ. You have one week to participate in this challenge, meaning the last date to send an entry will be June 21st, 11:59 PM ET.​

    This is a great Idea elheroeoscuro! Buuut I think I'd be nice to at least give everyone a participation emblem. And I would like to point out that the Pacman game you picked out is painfully difficult. The ghosts move far faster then they should in the first level. And the AI is far less forgiving then in the original Pacman, and does a lot of nasty tricks like trapping you in a corner.

    Anyway here's my score.

    That's always a possibility I guess. I thought it would be cool to have the emblems limited so there's a sense of pride in which one wins one, but we'll see. Also, I literally just grabbed that off of the Interent; if you can find a better, easier copy that would be great! Although if it's hard for you, I'm sure it's hard for everyone, making it pretty even across the playing field.

    It's frustration though, and just takes away the fun of the challenge. Though this seems to be the most commonly circulated copy of Pacman I did manage to find an emulated port of Pacman that can be played here. It's an emulated port of the original Pacman to the gamegear, and is a lot easier then the other copy. (Would have been nice to find an emulated copy of the arcade game... Oh well. :() But it's legal, you can play it online, and it's off a site I trust and use all the time.
     
    Grumble grumble... lost a 53,000 point run after pressing the print screen button too slowly. I know there used to be another version of this with a proper game over screen, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere. Oh well, I'll probably just keep trying as the week goes on.

    EDIT: Managed to crack 50K again after a dozen or so attempts. Don't know if I'll end up trying to get any higher than this, though.

    This is one of my weakest games, and I'm very surprised I hit over 10,000. I'm normally terrible at Pacman.
     
    i thought i was gonna be at number three but bruce banner pushed me down ;_;
