Hi All

So I just recently decided to try my hand at competitive play - and by recently, I mean the last few days - and decided to go in the UU tier as I figured I'd be totally smashed in OU.

Was wondering if you guys would give me your opinion on my team and what I could change. I'm getting about a 60-40 win-lose rate at the moment which I guess isn't THAT bad but I'd like to be better. I have terrible trouble getting rid of Darmanitan, Crobat, Heracross, and to a lesser extent, Azelf so a way to get rid of those would be awesome!

Infernape (F) - aka Goldilocks @ Choice Band
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Punch
- Close Combat
- U-Turn
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Def
Nature: Adamant

Goldilocks is almost always my lead. If she comes into something that she is strong against they almost always switch out and I try and guess what they would switch in and try and get as much damage done as possible. If a Crobat is in the opposing team I try and hide her Thunder Punch until I'm facing it but most of the time she is out-sped.

Florges (F) - aka Juicy Lucy @ Leftovers
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Wish
- Calm Mind
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 Sp Attack, 252 HP, 4 Defence
Nature: Modest

I use Juicy Lucy slightly differently to what I believe the standard set it. I switch her into the opposing team's wall and Calm Mind my way up until I can wreck the opposing team with Moonblast. When I see someone setting up entry hazards I generally use her then, too. Wish is obviously used as Juicy Lucy's own source of recovery and aromatherapy would be to heal any status on my team. Her Sp Defence is still high enough to make her a special wall.

Blastoise (M) - aka TMNT @ Blastoisnite
- Water Pulse
- Dark Pulse
- Aura Sphere
- Dragon Pulse
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 Sp Attack, 252 HP, 4 Speed
Nature: Modest

TMNT is my all rounder as he can hit super-effectively on enough types. He's a bit slow though. I use him about mid-match - I don't particularly have a plan for him other than cause damage and die.

Trevenant (M) - aka Maureen @ Lum Berry
- Rest
- Earthquake
- Will-o-Wisp
- Horn Leech
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 244 Sp Defence, 228 HP, 36 Attack
Nature: Careful

Maureen is odd. This is a case of me loving the design of the Pokemon so much that I just have to use it and sometimes he rocks and sometimes he goes down easily. (I had the same love feeling for Wailord but he isn't that easy to use!). I have the Lum Berry on Harvest which allows me to get enough rests in to cure myself. I guess I mainly use it as a wall that can do a fair chunk of damage with recovery with Horn Leech.

Honchkrow (M) - aka Boss @ Life Orb
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower
- Brave Bird
- Facade
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Nature: Jolly

Boss is the Boss of the team. He takes charge when Spikes/Toxic Spikes are around and the opposing is starting to lose the plot. Its a pretty standard set from what I gather except for Facade. Everyone likes to inflict status on it so I figured "Hey, this gets stronger with status inflictions so why not."

Durant (M) - aka Durable Ant @ Life Orb
- Hone Claws
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- X Scissor
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4HP
Nature: Jolly

Durable Ant and Boss are interchangeable depending on the team I am facing. If Boss isn't going to be able to handle what's left at the end then Durable Ant can. I like to Switch him into a wall that is nearing the end of its life, chuck in a Hone Claws and away I go.

What do you guys think? Where can I improve?

Thanks!

Use a Jolly nature for Infernape; being outsped by +Speed Pokemon like Hydreigon and Mienshao is bad.

Florges should use a defensive spread to take advantage of its bulk. Calm Mind Florges also faces competition with other Calm Minders, since it lacks recovery outside of Wish/Protect, which take up two valuable moveslots:
-Wish
-Protect
-Moonblast
-Aromatherapy/Toxic
Nature: Bold/Calm
EVs: 252 HP/232 Def/24 SDef
Item: Leftovers

Rapid Spin support is needed for Honchkrow, so drop Mega Blastoise's Aura Sphere or Dragon Pulse for it.

Facade works best with status abusers, which Honchkrow isn't. Substitute is a viable option on Honchkrow, since it forces a lot of switches:
-Sucker Punch
-Brave Bird
-Roost/Pursuit
-Pursuit/Substitute/Superpower
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Moxie

or
-Night Slash
-Brave Bird
-Pursuit
-Heat Wave/Superpower
Nature: Naive/Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/4 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie

Thanks, PlatinumDude! I switched the nature of Infernape to Jolly and she's much quicker (obviously!). With Honchkrow, I took out facade and replaced with Roost. I'm not great at using substitute :)

Any recommendations on how to get rid of pesky Crobats? I have thunder punch on Infernape but she's out sped by Crobat's brave bird. I have rock slide on Durant but he's out sped too. I know Crobat has high base speed but my gosh it's super fast!
