I've been working on a challenge (sorta?) by playing through each generation (remakes included) in anticipation for Sun and Moon's release this fall. :) Playing all these games should at least take me that long, haha. Though knowing me, I might get tired once I hit FRLG.

I do plan on doing a random when I go to Emerald next, mainly because I have used all the Hoenn Pokemon a ton and don't really want to play normally like I have with Red and Crystal. And possibly a monocolor on Gold as a side kind of thing, just cause I'm really into GSC lately.

I submitted a challenge I'm pretty excited about. I hope it gets accepted. :)

Basically you can't evolve any Pokemon, and there are different ways you can approach the Elite Four and Post Game that give you different Thread Ribbons. I'm currently 4 badges into the run, but I think I'll slow down and just level grind some random Pokemon until the thread gets posted. I'm probably going to want a bunch of different Pokemon anyways.

Evening, morning to ya'll! o/
Nice to see few familiar names hanging around still.

I seem to have gone in a coma concerning pokemon and challenges for the longest of time. Once I'll finish up some favorites runs that I have going on I'll be back to challenges and the forum - hoping to find some interesting ones try.

And - Oh wow my signature is outdated.

Good news, everyone! I update the Challenge Index. Yay! I need to keep up with it better, it's really not that complicated. If you ever notice it being left out of date for a long time be sure to poke me, guys. Sometimes I just need some motivation.

You and me both. I haven't been on for at least 5 months. But I'm kind of in between TV shows right now and need something to do, so maybe I"m back for now?

Hey guys! I'm planning on completely overhauling the splash with my own code, and am now taking suggestions! Post here if you have an idea or just message me, either way works.

Also, I know it's been a while since we have an event. Sorry about that. I want to do something soon, but finding a theme in the middle of the summer is tough. There's hardly any good holidays, and Summer itself has been done before. American Independence day would be cool, except... yeah, it's American only. So if you think that would be a good theme, do chime in and let me know~.

Hey guys, so I'm going on holiday next week and I'm gonna be playing through Platinum again whilst I'm out there. Just wondering what the best challenge would be on this game, thanks :)

So recently I just started my first nuzlocke on my youtube channel. I am playing leafgreen and my subscribers wanted me to start with Armaldo. Things went rough in our first episode, but then I caught a Wartortle!!! Pretty good first capture for my first nuzlocke. So I wanted to know what others best capture has been so far??
Check out my Youtube channel MutantMonkeyMan for more Pokemon action!

The idea of playing a soul link is something that has been running through my mind alot the last few weeks. WIth Nappy and Shady finishing their randomized Diamond and Pearl run i decided to start my own.
The problem is I have no idea who to do it with and am wondering if anyone would like to join me, or if anyone knows a good place to find partners?

Thanks in advance,
Sincerely <3

Normally choosing your Starter in a game for a Nuzlocke varies player to player. Do you roll a d20? A d6? Do you determine by your player ID number? Or do you sacrifice an unhappy orphan to Helix Almighty and read the stars?

For me, I use a simple formula involving the Trainer ID.

Essentially, I add up all the numbers and get one sum, like this:
968509
9+6+8+5+0+9=37
Then I take the sum and multiply those numbers together:
3*7=21
And then I take that sum and add again.
2+1=3
Huzzah! A Fire-type! Now to plunge the world into perpetual burning death!

In case you get a number 4-9 for your results, Grass Type 1, 4, and 7, Water 2, 5, and 8, and Fire 3, 6, 9. It's been relatively effective for my Nuzlockes so far.

But I wonder how others choose their Starter. Feel free to discuss or recommended your own methods.

Hello,

For a challenge, I want to finish the game using all the non-player character traded Pokemon (in Yellow, they are: Mr Mime, Dugtrio, Muk, Dewgong, Rhydon, Parasect and Machamp).

Obviously one would need to sit out because there are 7. I would probably leave out Muk or maybe Dugtrio.

Here are my proposed movesets. Please let me know what you would change.

Mr Mime
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Thunderwave
Light screen / Reflect
Dugtrio
Dig
Earthquake
Slash
Mimic?
Muk
Sludge
Thunder
Hyperbeam
Explosion
Dewgong
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest
Blizzard/Hord Drill
Rhydon
Rock Slide
Horn Drill
Earthquake
Body Slam
Parasect
Leech Life
Megadrain
Slash
Dig
Machamp
Hyperbeam
Submission
Fire Blast
Strength

Thanks!

Yo so I just wanted to get an opinion or consensus about something that I've been thinking about.

For challenges, I know most of y'all use only one Pokemon of a certain species for challenges like monotype or color, etc. but are there any rules (other than challenge-specific ones) that explicitly state this or is this just what ends up happening?

Because I feel like it'd be helpful to have duplicates for some of them, because I know having an extra team member can be super clutch
Challenges:
Tri-Species Challenge - Kalos(6/8), Alola(0/8)

(Completed - Kanto-Unova)

Well I know that in the Monotype Challenge's case there isn't any restriction on using duplicate species, and some types for the challenge are even required to do this because of lack of variety. I cannot speak for every challenge but usually it should be pretty explicit in the rules if you can't use duplicates at all. It is halpful to use different move sets on duplicates though.

PS: Man it's weird not seeing my name in blue any more.
