Hello all,

I have recently been bitten by the Pokemon bug and I have gotten myself a 3DS XL and Pokemon X / Y.

I have completed Pokemon X and was able to capture Xerneas and Mewtwo off the bat. I have since level'd up numerous Pokemon to lvl 100 and maxed out the Training mini-game stat's applicable to their type/move-sets.

I am now curious about breeding and started reading but understand the basic's of it.

Here's what I do not understand.

1.) The new Red/Blue to come out for the 3DS, will it have ALL Pokemon that you could originally capture in the old Gameboy version? "I.E. Mew".

2.) Can you continue to breed to increase main stats or is there a cap? "Meaning if I keep breeding the same type with the Main-stat of SP Attack will it keep increasing?"

3.) Is it worth buying an old Gameboy SP and ALL of the old versions to bring over to X/Y with the Pokemon Transporter?

I appreciate any feedback and advice.

Brendino

Hey there netsmage, welcome to the PokeCommunity! I'll try and answer these questions as best as I can for you.

1.) The new Red/Blue to come out for the 3DS, will it have ALL Pokemon that you could originally capture in the old Gameboy version? "I.E. Mew".
The new games that will be coming out in November are actually remakes of Ruby and Sapphire from the Game Boy Advance, not Red and Blue from the original Game Boy. While there hasn't been any official word as to what Pokemon will be available, we can only assume that all the Pokemon available in Ruby/Sapphire will be available in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. As for which of the original 151 Pokemon from Red/Blue we're getting, we'll have to wait and see.

2.) Can you continue to breed to increase main stats or is there a cap? "Meaning if I keep breeding the same type with the Main-stat of SP Attack will it keep increasing?"
Unfortunately, I'm not the guy to talk to about breeding. We do have a very handy guide to breeding right over here, so hopefully giving that a quick read will help you out. If not, feel free to ask over in our Trade Corner's Quick Question & Answer thread.

3.) Is it worth buying an old Gameboy SP and ALL of the old versions to bring over to X/Y with the Pokemon Transporter?
The Pokemon Transporter for X/Y only works between the fifth generation games (Black/White/Black 2/White 2) and X/Y, so if you wanted to move Pokemon from the GBA games to X/Y, you would need at least one game from the 4th (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver) and 5th generations as well, plus a Nintendo DS with a GBA game slot (Gen 3 -> Gen 4 -> Gen 5 -> Gen 6). If you don't have all of those available, it may not be worth it to you, and you'd probably be better off finding any Pokemon you're looking for on the GTS. If you still want to do it though, go ahead- it'll just take a bit of effort to get your Pokemon from the GBA to 3DS games.

Hopefully I was able to answer your questions! Just for future reference, Pokemon General doesn't actually deal with threads that are solely about the Pokemon games- this board is more for discussion about the franchise as a whole. I'm going to close this thread, but if you have any more questions, feel free to ask either in the thread I linked to before, or over in Pokemon Gaming Central's Quick Q&A Thread. Thanks!
