Hello pokemon fans! (especially those of you who like theories)
I have actually been doing some research on this, and here comes a long paragraph...
Some of you said that a pokemon would be turned into energy, and some of you said they would be turned into data... But the reality of my theory is, you're all right. For a pokeball to even come close to realistic, you would need the data to store the genetic makeup of the pokemon, and the energy to recreate it, although some of you probably knew that. But for a pokeball to become realistic, we would need all the space we could get, because we would literally need to install a supercomputer into this thing, so pokeballs being hollow is bull crap. Luckily, with computers becoming smaller and smaller, we will eventually be able to fit one inside. Keep in mind that this would be pretty impressive, though, because we're talking about HUNDREDS of terabytes here. That's right, terabytes. For those of you who don't know how much a terabyte is, that's one MILLION megabytes. The most impressive cell phones can only hold a couple hundred megabytes. So now that we covered that, let's talk about the energy source. This could work one of two ways: One is a substance i learned about while watching a video on a realistic lightsaber, a substance that is small but packs a TON of energy. Two, is wireless energy. This is theoretically infinite energy, but it doesn't give you as much power at one time. A problem with storing pokemon that I forgot to mention is the way dna is made up: with two chemicals that can't be created out of energy. Luckily for us, cells only have so much DNA in them, and we could probably find a way to compact those substances small enough so that it fits with room to spare, since we need all the room we can get. Also, with this amount of space, it is impossible for pokeballs to shrink. It would be more convienent, but it is impractical and would take too much time and money.
Phew! This is a complicated videogame item, to say the least. I will give you more tomorrow on my theory!
(P.s. for the people who just skipped to the end, this just contains all the scientific stuff about a pokeball. Well, part of it. I will have to continue this later.)
Hi there rollerman, and welcome to PC! Don't know if you missed it, but two posts right above yours, I explained that any thread that hasn't been posted in for over 30 days is considered dead, and it was nearly 7 months since the last post here. If you'd like to continue discussing this topic (and judging by your post, it looks like you would), feel free to make a new thread instead! That way, we'll be getting some fresh discussion, and anyone that responded previously can chime in again if they'd like! I'm going to have to close this thread, but thanks for understanding, and I'm looking forward to what else you have to say.
