For me it was constantly dying in Sonic Generations. Sonic games throw me off because it's advertised as going super fast but then the moment I run into a platforming section that involves patience and timing, my immersion is ruined and I constantly get a game over. It's very frustrating and I always rage quit playing the game lmao. I guess I'm just no good at Sonic games.
Oh my god, how could I forget? This exact same thing kept happening to me so that's why I just quit playing overall haha. I hadn't played a Sonic game since I was 6, so I was just confused and thought I was awful, too, but maybe it's a common theme? ?_?

False advertisement! xD
I'm pretty good at Sonic Adventure 2 cause I grew up with it but Sonic Generations just threw me for a loop.

Yo, when I tell you I was disgusted that I wasted 10 dollars on Time & Eternity....

If I ever find a time machine, I would have to go back and slap myself, because that was one of the worst days of my life, fml.

Bad Experiences? Let me tell you about Armored Core For Answer on Hard mode. Towards the end of the game, there's a mission where
Spoiler:
you can just go #YOLO and decide to destroy all of the cradles, essentially wiping out the majority of humanity.
If you choose this mission, you have to fight 4 fully tunes mechs, in a very annoying stage (The cradles themselves serve as the battleground, and you have to boost to each one for the most part if you want mobility), and when I SAY it is hard as all hell? Oh, and if you decide to run hard mode, you have to fight FIVE mechs. And just to spit in your face, the 5th mech
Spoiler:
is the operator who's been by your side the whole game.

I don't think I'd do that again with cheat codes backing me up, because that was utterly ridiculous.
Let me just say... wow someone else actually knows Armored Core!! Even though that's a tragic moment it's awesome to see a person that has actually heard of the series

Not enough people know about or even try to get into Armored Core. Kinda makes me sad honestly. I've invested a lot of time into the series and I feel like it doesn't get enough credit.

People can't seem to stop asking for another Chromehounds though...yet they're developed by the same people who made Armored Core? Okay, fanbases...

Any Megaman Zero prior to the 4th installment. Those were ridiculously hard and I kept dying at the first two bosses.
Could have been worse. Could have been MMX7. That was a travesty in and out of itself, but boss fights as Zero made no sense in that game.

Practically everything in Tales of Symphonia once you got to the second disk. Extremely poorly designed dungeons, stupid plot twists, bland, annoying characters, shoehorned heavy handed messages about society, poorly handled themes, characters who pretty much go in and out for no reason; the game was getting tedious before this point but by the second disk it was almost too much to bear. The only thing redeeming about it was the art direction and the music is kind of catchy (but definitely not up there with Sakuraba's best). I honestly can't think of a single part in that second disk that didn't feel like a damn chore.

I know there are some people who still tell me to this day that "I wasn't playing the game correctly" or that "I needed to play [game] to understand it" but a video game should be well designed enough to be able to follow what is going on without boring the player to death. It should not require the assistance of other games to understand the plot or be able to at least follow it, and you must certainly not force the player to "play a certain way" to understand the game.

Megaman Zero 3 was actually really easy if you didn't care about the rank you get at the end of the mission (and EX skills).

The first Megaman Zero game is REALLY hard though. It took me forever to beat the final boss.

Let's start with one of the best games I've ever played: Limbo. Limbo is an awesome game. It was a brilliantly built platformer, the graphics were great, and it was extremely difficult. No kidding. I don't hate Limbo, I must say that, but Limbo was the most mind-twisting video game experience I have ever had. Especially that final level.

Next on my list is Deep Sleep. Deep Sleep is a horror point and click puzzle game that challenges your mind and your courage. This game wasn't a mind twister as much as it was a panic inducer. When you first saw the monster in the game, it had brilliant timing, and completely freaked me out. The other games in this series were never as freaky for me though.

Of course, neither of these are anything compared to Flappy Bird xD

Yeah, that was sort of the problem with the majoirty of the Tales' games - you have to go here, 5 seconds later, you have to sail alllll the way there, then go back here, go to this cave, etc, etc, ugh, the constant travelling can drain on you pretty quickly, true. I'd say you'd really have to be into the atmosphere, the battle mechanics, and the plot to really appreciate the tales games in that regard, I suppose, otherwise, you're gonna have a rough time indeed. ^Ya know, as much as I like the Tales series, I do have to admit that they tend to have some issues, like the pacing or some of the characters being hit or miss.

Anyway, one terrible gaming experience for me is....

This mother****er. Goddamn do I hate this thing. The Spider Ball Guardian is easily the most frustrating boss of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Morph Ball is one of Metroid's big gimmicks, and it is cool, and this is the only boss battle in the trilogy done entirely in Morph Ball mode, but the controls are not meant for the level of precision and speed needed to beat this thing. What makes it worse is that you don't battle this thing until you're like 2/3-3/4 of the way through the game, so you fight all the way to this point, only to deal with this BS, not to mention that the Spider Ball is a very useful upgrade. I don't even remember how the hell I beat it on my first 2 runs, and it made me give up on my 3rd run of Prime 2; it's one of the very few things to make me rage quit. It kinda sucks since Prime 2 is probably my favorite one of the Prime triology.

Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner for the PSP should have never been made. I got it thinking it would be similar to Pokémon and it was a half hour wasted. God awful characters, voice acting, story, UI, 'battle' system, everything. All copies of it should be burned.

When you wind up getting yourself with lag in Call of Duty games, even though your connection is perfectly fine, is, without a doubt, always a bad experience. I've been on this hundreds of times previously, and despised each and every moment. When you're online and playing in some mode such as team-deathmatch, every second counts.

From what I have seen, many players I've been in with seemed to have been advanced, and know what they're doing. If you screw anything up, they could take you down in a blink of an eye, and you can't do anything in return other than die, re-spawn, and try getting back to those guys. If you lag, however, you don't have to do anything yourself; this would mess things up for you automatically, and regardless of how tough you try, you won't be able to rescue your player. If you're an in open place where opponents are freely able to see you, then chances of you getting shot are top-notch; most of the time, it will happen. When it does, you'll more or less be frustrated and wind up quitting. That is, if you play competitively--someone who tries to earn scores, move up ranks, and so forth.

Lately, I've been trying to lay myself back more and enjoy whatever fun CoD has to offer, and ignore competitiveness. For me, one way of having fun is to simply bother teammates to hear their reactions and whatnot, which, oftentimes, could be simply hilarious, all depending on how you take it. There's also a way off kick them out of matches, by constantly hurting yourself while destroying their traps. While they can't say anything when they're gone, I still find it sort of fun to see someone randomly disappear off the field.

I don't always do such things, though; only when I'm not in the mood of playing seriously, so to speak.

I am in the same boat as Endless. I can't play Call of Duty anymore, only my reasons are slightly different. I used to play CoD every day with Harry and our little gang, but I got so sick of cussing at my screen and being an idiot. I quit playing CoD online after throwing temper tantrums like that. I played my roommate's copy of MW3 once online and no longer enjoyed the CoD style of gameplay. I really love Zombies though, so if they ever release a Zombies edition of CoD - I'm on board!

Racing games were my favorite always and i played Need For Speed games with passion. Before NFS went all Online and super competitive there were older games with actual difficulty levels and AI. I remember playing NFS Underground 1 with friend, in this game some races are really difficult even on Easy mode. We found ourselves cursing passionately and stuck sometimes for weeks in one certain race in Underground carrer mode, we changed cars to drive with, strategies, always ended up failing. Years passed, I learned a bit about this game, knew what car to use, how to drive properly and I didn't even realize when I found myself beating this game on Hard difficulty. Underground 2 was a piece of cake comparing to U1. Then Most Wanted happened. Oh God, the carrer Drag races. I love drag races overall, I always tried to get personal records and tuned cars in the best possible way, but hell, Most Wanted had the worst Drag race system - lots of traffic cars and the tracks had corners that slowed my car. I didn't have much reflex at the time so I was losing horribly.

Uh, pretty much some racing games I had as a kid.
Like, I saw this trailer for Gran Turismo Concept and was REALLY hyped for it due to the beautiful music and visuals, then I get it a while later, and it was a HUGE let down.

Then my first experience with Final Fantasy ruined my view on the series (I think it was Final Fantasy X-2)
I thought i was buying a game of one of the greatest franchises, then I REALLY didn't like it. I couldn't get my head around the controls, mechanics, and so on.
I gave it to a friend who also thought it sucked and threw it behind his desk, never to be seen again.
Also, every single classic Sonic game. I usually die to some stupid reason. Wether it be flipping platforms after defeating Robotnik in chemical plant zone in Sonic 2, Tails killing me in (I think) Sonic 3 by stealing an air bubble on the last second, or just the nauseous controls of Sonic 3D Blast.
I just suck at classic Sonic games, I guess. XD
I should really stop leaving without further notice xD

Ya know, Final Fantasy X-2 was also my first main series FF game (I had played Crystal Chronicles beforehand). Didn't like it at all. Never finished it, actually. I can't say I really like the Final Fantasy series that much. Perhaps its because I had poor choices in what of FF I played. Like how playing X-2 before X was probably a bad idea and X-2 is apparently not very good from what I've heard. Then I tried playing VI I think it was on an emulator, and I don't really get emulators. And my 3rd attempt at Final Fantasy was 13, which wasn't terrible but it had issues. So maybe I got off on the wrong foot with the series.

But the one thing I think I will never like about the series is the general way the battles are. It tries to do this turn based/real time hybrid thing, and it just doesn't work for me. Do not make me select commands from a menu and not stop everything while I'm selecting my commands, especially if the characters are locked into their positions.

Pfft, I didn't even get past the first boss battle. There were like battles everywhere after the song, then a boss battle involving the main character, or at least some clone or whatever... I gave up and tossed it aside xD

The games that come to mind are:

Shadow The Hedgehog - Cursing in a Sanic game? Really? The artificial Chaos mission is a pain. I would rather play Sonic 06 that this disgrace.

Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2: Changed everything!! The new combat system was horrible. Vanille and Hope are annoying characters. This game is why I hated Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. You control only one teammate, if that teammate dies, the game is over! The story line never makes sense. An almost hour long boss battle if you haven't almost 100% completed the game before challenging it. An Ending that never existed according to Final Fantasy 13-2. And the most horrible thing of all, You don't play FF13, FF13 plays you!

Final Fantasy 13-2: Time Travel? You've already doomed the game. Reaction commands in cutscenes?? A 'To Be Continued" Ending?

I haven't had many bad experiences, but the first one that comes to mind is LoL.

I'm only really good with one champion, Wukong, so I tried to expand my horizons a bit. I tried Twitch, and lost horribly. My support abandoned me after cursing me out within the first five minutes, my entire team had turned on me, and I was instructed to just stay at the base and defend against anyone trying to sneak their way through and destroy the vulnerable inhibitors. My team lost, and they all blamed it on me.

Ever since then, I'm extremely hesitant to try new champions. My support was complete crap and was stealing all of my kills, but the entire experience just makes me want to stick with Wukong until the end of time, haha.

There's been probably some bad games in my earlier childhood I don't remember much of... but one particularly bad experience I had in a game was the first LoZ game I played in my own room, Twilight Princess. (Don't judge I've been playing older ones =p). I did enjoy the game overall. But what was the bad part within it. Two words:

Roll. Goal.

I.e. a really badly implemented minigame in which you rolled a ball through a series of mazes by tilting the Wiimote. Which was overly sensitive. There was one level in particular which was really frustrating, and I recall having looked online about it and seeing similar sentiments about it.
For me, I would have to say the kinda-a-fetch-quest-but-not-really fetch quest from Paper Mario: TTYD. Specifically, from Chapter 7 at Fahr Outpost. To even progress you have to go to pretty much everywhere you've already been, which is a pain if you don't have certain warp pipes unlocked yet. And at the end of it, the guy you've been looking for was in his house the whole time! At least you get to jump on him repeatedly until you leave his house.
Those fetch quests can be annoying, haha. I didn't mind that one in TTYD too much tbh, but that may be because it is imo a heck of an amazing game.
Final Fantasy XIII...
I hate you so much.

(rant)
Haha, FFXIII. I have a rather limited experience with FF (I've played more spinoffs than main games!), but a few weeks back at a friend's place we decided to have one of us play through it to see how bad it was. It was pretty bad! Autobutton to win was pretty much it, and the scenes were bleh and the characters for the most part were quite frustrating. And the very linear maps! @[email protected]
Playing Minecraft alone... It just is as boring as watching a documentary of paper.
Each to their own. I've enjoyed playing it by myself though on survival, and I imagine a lot of people into creative are as well.

X2 was OK in some parts I got bored in the middle of the game so I quit, though I might go back to it. You really should've played X first, not only does it make sense of some stuff in X2 but also it's arguably more suited to the majority of the gaming audience I feel.

I can name a few off the top of my head. Sonic Adventure 2, Street Fighter, Sonic Heroes, Tales Of The Abyss, Too Human, and Fallout 3 all come to mind immediately though.

Worst one though period for me would have to be Abyss and that's saying a lot for me considering not only how much I hated the other titles that I mentioned but also how much of a general Tales fan that I am. Long story short, everything about this game was done wrong in my eyes. Everything.

I guess that I can break this particular "experience" down a little bit though.

Okay first off, not only did the opening synopsis sound so ridiculously dumb that I just went ahead and said "**** it, ok", every single bit of dialogue that hit me afterwards felt like a series of precision needles destroying my brain cells one by one with every single word along with the combat being repetitive at best and the overall character cast making me regret the very moment I even bought the piece of crap that I call my 3DS with every waking minute that I spent on this game. Oh yeah, and the plot would make more sense to me if it had Pee Wee Herman fighting space bunnies and Nazi cowboys with nothing but a lamp and a dish rag while in the damn Matrix. At least that would be mildly entertaining.

Another one too - Back when I was around 12 or so, I used to play on the Gamecube with my neighbor and he pushed Sonic Adventure 2 Battle to where I agreed just to shut him up and to put it plainly, I wasn't even showed the controls before he just annihilated me on my first try playing the game. And even afterwards when I gained some semblance of the control scheme, there was only ever a few times that I even came close to actually winning a PVP match against him and even then I had no fun playing the game whatsoever and just felt a mix of shame and frustration in the end. Similar story a few years later in my late teens when one of my clan buddies pushed Street Fighter and Ultimate MVC 3 on me and again, it was just not fun for me to play at all whether I was getting curb stomped or whether I was actually getting close to winning for once.

I know that some people might like Abyss but for me, it was not only simply not my type of game but it struck me in a way overall appeal wise that I couldn't have imagined in my worst nightmares.

For me it's Super Training.
^ This, especially when I have tons of absurd balls hit me in the tougher challenges.

And there's a certain boss level in Harmoknight in Stage 1 (Growlik Rematch), where I try my best to make a perfect beat because I was storing many healths that time (and several restarts to keep the health up too), but to get a game over on my very last hit, twice in a row, even though I was having a full health on my progress. Seeing that all my efforts are ruined, I'm not sure of playing it atm.
