Ok, here's the thing. I have been lately unable to play on Steam at all. Everytime I try to activate it, it get stuck on the update screen and claims that Steam needs to be online, even though I am already connected to the net. I tried every possible method I could find. Can some of you help me?

Here's the log to illustrate how Steam has been behaving lately:

Maybe try a reinstall? Though, if you currently have games installed this can be too much of a hassle. If you do have games installed, maybe you can try backing-up their files and once you reinstall Steam you can put the game files back in the directory (I think you can do this, not 100% sure).

Just as a side note, you can very easily back them up. :)
All you have to do is move the "SteamApps" folder to your desktop or something while you un/reinstall, and then cut and paste it back later.

I moved it from my C drive (my SSD) to my D drive (a new 3TB HDD) not too long ago, and moved My Documents (for the saves) there, too. Some of them will feel like they need to verify the cache when you run them again, but other than that nothing felt the need to reinstall or anything. c:

I did try the reinstall method but it didn't take...
How stable is your internet connection?

EDIT: Actually, based on the error logs, it seems to be something to do with the architecture of the system. Do you know if your system is 32bit or 64bit?

Ah, that's right, I think I did it once. I wasn't sure if it still worked.

I am pretty sure my system is indeed 64-bit. Something in my system apparently is interrupting with Steam or something... I even tried using the Regedit method but that didn't take either...

It appears to be trying to run for Windows 32-bit I think. Maybe this is normal, and perhaps Steam doesn't have permission to read your files because it says it failed to. Try running Steam as Administrator.

Well, I have tried running it as an administrator as well, yes. But that failed as well... I do know that there amny suggestion of what to do on Steam. The problem is, all seems to fail me. Is there like a sequence of doing things?
Try following these instructions exactly:

Please exit Steam and browse to your Steam installation folder(see below for default locations for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
Delete all of the files in this folder except:
- \Steamapps\ folder
- Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)
Restart your computer.
Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.
With Steam running, re-test the original issue.
If the issue persists, make sure your network is optimized for Steam: Troubleshooting Network Connectivity. Please follow all suggestions in this article, even if your network appears to be functioning correctly.

Default Steam Installation Locations:
Windows

(64bit) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\

Yeah, tried that a few times and it failed on me as well... Look, I understand that you're unable to determine exactly what's wrong with Steam on my computer. I have tried everything and I am starting to really wonder if this is all a bad dream...

Still, if there's some more technologically oriented users in here, perhaps he or she should read the log I provided on this thread and then determine the correct choice of action. Until then, Steam remains off-limits for me...

Okay, well I'm sorry I couldn't help you out, I haven't really seen this error happen before. Maybe you could try theTechnology & Internet forum, perhaps there's someone there who'd know how to fix it. Best of luck!

Try deleting clientregistry.blob and then starting ti back up. It'll reacquire some stuff and that might fix it.
