As you may or may not have seen with Ariana Grande's new commercial, LINE is a messenger app that seems to finally be hitting the ground with North American audiences. It peaked in popularity a year or two ago with its side game LINE Play, but its use as a messenger app is finally getting recognition.

Some of its features include free voice and video calling, stickers to send as emoticons, and chat groups of up to 100 people. It also has a desktop messenger, so you can keep up with friends from your computer. Needless to say, it's pretty decent for what it does!

Does anyone have or use LINE? How do you like it, if so?

I just rejoined it again today after many, many months and I'm in love with it! My username is mochipearl if anyone is on!

I've never heard of LINE until I saw this thread. From what it seems like, it's not really known and I dunno know long it will be that way. I guess if it got promoted more around the internet, then maybe it would be a more-known service.

It's an excellent service! I started using it on my PC more and it really stands out as an IM program. It's really similar to AIM or MSN because each conversation has an individual window, and you can easily set windows to remain on top of every other window if you want to stay in a convo while you're working on something. It also allows you to adjust the transparency of each window if you're watching something full screen without completely obstructing the view.

A popular side-game that required the LINE messenger app to be installed called LINE Play was removed from the app store in North America this summer, and that was helped peak its popularity around two years ago. It's supposed to be reintroduced though, so hopefully that helps nudge it forward a bit.

It does have Disney Tsum Tsum which I've been playing, and it's a really fun app game.

Been hearing a lot about it recently and I haven't bothered checking it out myself. Looks like a pretty cute app, if only I had friends that use it though...I'll give it a shot. :)

LINE is very popular in Asian countries, most prominently in Japan. It's great to see that it's been making its way to other parts of the world. I've been using LINE for almost three years now and I think it's a great messenger app that can rival other apps such as WhatsApp and WeChat. One of the main features is the ability for users to download and use stickers in conversations to express themselves and to liven up the overall mood of the chat, which I enjoy a lot. I have no problems with LINE whatsoever.

I use Line primarily for audio calls and quick chats with relatives. It has superior quality compared to WeChat in that aspect. In fact, I feel a little uneasy to use WeChat especially when its chat servers are located in China. No offense intended btw.

Of course for audio calls, Viber is even better.
