I must be the only one who doesn't get deep thoughts in the shower. :(
I have these random thoughts in and out of the shower. I was playing Borderlands 2 with my fiancé when I blurted out, "Hey hon. You have the same initials as Jesus."
"I call dis 'Flight of the Bunnelby'."

I don't really have these kinds of thoughts in the shower. It usually happens when I'm in bed actually...

Damn, I probably spend too long in the shower if I have these thoughts. Though, I lump them with the general epiphany that could occur at any time in the day. Kind of like the realization that history classes are going to get more difficult and lengthy as time progresses.

If society in the past has been run by men for thousands of years, why on earth would they decide that circumcision sounds like a good idea?

Why is it that after Aladdin freed the Genie that the Genie just kind of turned into his wish chum?

Why has Islam only been noticeably problematic for society in recent years? They saved all the knowledge that the Christians burned, so surely they're not completely looney.

Why is it that pedophilia among non humans is the opposite of how it is with humans, usually occurring between pubescent males and older females, such as with the gorilla?

How did Beethoven write anything and know it was good music?

How was inflation in Zimbabwe in 2008 even feasible or reasonable to keep track of, with a Zimbabwe dollar to USD conversion rate of 642 quadrillion to 1?

Why don't they expand the city limits of San Fransisco?

Why do computers function on powers of 2?

Why don't Indian people use toilet paper? (Seriously, right? Surely they can get some 1-ply or something)

How did anyone think a thousand-year dark age was a good idea?

What happened to the other 10 tribes of Israel?

Why did the Nazis single out Jews as opposed to some other group?

Why didn't the Nazis realize Poland may be a little too obvious of a place to do their genocide, especially with a steaming population of Russians about to revolt on the richest man in the world of his time?

Why did it take personal computers 20 years to stop sucking?

What year did Apple start marketing to hipsters?

If lesbians aren't attracted to men, why are they attracted to women who look like men?

If the elite are going to be full of garbage anyway, why do people believe pseudo-democracies are better than monarchies?

These deserve some damn explanation.

I wish showering were this simple :( I think about EVERYTHING in the shower. What I did that day, what I want to eat, what I plan to do after, I sing, I dance, pretty much everything possible haha. I do enjoy shower time though. It's the only time I can think peacefully!

If we keep people alive when they otherwise would have died from disease and don't base our mate choosing on breeding characteristics alone because of our higher thinking, does that mean we're done evolving?

I have great awakenings when I poop, am trying to sleep, or am showering.

But not when I'm at school or doing anything of meaning, or trying to remember great realizations. Like now.

I think Reddit might be leaking onto PC. (/r/showerthoughts)

When I think in the shower, I mainly think of things in my own life and personal evaluations of things, not abstract or funny ideas. I like to think on my past and my future and even my present, how I'll handle things or work on a problem I'm having.

Why don't they expand the city limits of San Fransisco?
SF has other cities that are right up against it from the south, Daly City and South San Francisco. You can just cross a street and be in one of those two smaller cities. Beyond that, there is water surrounding the other three directions. :P "So why not build up then?" There is very little room left in the city and projects to build new skyscrapers are opposed by residents and city officials to the point that no new living spaces can be created because backlash is often expensive and disruptive.

Why has Islam only been noticeably problematic for society in recent years? They saved all the knowledge that the Christians burned, so surely they're not completely looney.
Islamic fundamentalism/radical Islam, not Islam itself, has been a problem for awhile, not just recent years. I could talk on the subject for hours (it's a big part of my thesis paper), but I'll try not to ramble...much. During the Cold War era, NATO governments spent a good deal of time, effort, and resources into stopping Soviet advances in the region. Around the 1970s, many Islamic countries were on relatively good terms with Western countries thanks to assistance during these times. Unfortunately, by supporting and supplying these fundamentalists with support and even weapons, they became militaristic and began threatening regimes aligned with the West.

The Shah of Iran was an ally of the United States and was subsequently overthrown by a militaristic fundamentalist group, who gave rise to Ayatollah Khomeini, the first Supreme Leader of Iran, and who began the shift of dislike for Western interests. There were other fundamentalist uprisings, including the FLN's terroristic campaign and civil war in Algeria. Probably the second most influential shift came from the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The United States, still working to stop Soviet advances, funded billions of dollars into mujahideen fighters, the forefathers of the radical Islamic movement today. One of these mujahideen groups was funded by Osama bin Laden, who became a hero and idol to many of the militants due to his funding, actions during combat, and leadership and who founded Al Qaeda after a falling out with another leader of the mujahideen.

In 1990, Iraq forces invaded Kuwait and bin Laden met with the King of Saudi Arabia to offer his fighting forces as protection and combatants to fend off an Iraqi invasion. The Saudi King rejected his offer and sought help from the United States instead. This led to some of his actions against the United States and his eventual exile from Saudi Arabia. Many of the fundamental Islamics come from the Wahhabi movement, a branch of Islam, and the teachings of Sayyid Qutb who spent many years in the United States and spoke out against the liberal nature of American society (sex, drugs, rock n' roll). His teachings were influential to Osama bin Laden and also helped lead to the founding of Al Qaeda.

I obviously enjoy learning about this stuff too much, otherwise I wouldn't be here three paragraphs later, but it's good information to know and learn about. Definitely fascinating. Overall, much of what we see in radical Islam is a dislike of Western culture and beliefs, ironically exacerbated by Western influence in the region. Keep in mind that followers of Islam do not feel the same way about Christians or the West, but a loud minority influences opinions louder than peaceful opposition to that minority.

Eh? Shower thoughts? During bath times I always think about story ideas and just randomly speak Japanese (I learned it in high school, ok?) out loud hahaha. Also whenever I'm going to sleep (to the point that sometimes I couldn't sleep for the whole night).

It's sad that I can never think of anything decent outside the bathroom. :/

I'm kind of like Jak. lol

I think up forum events, or at least brain storm some ideas for some. I also think up song lyrics, or roleplay ideas, stories I wanna write, AMV ideas, etc. Apparently in such a calm setting I have time to get creative.

Though I don't have a shower, I do tend to do quite a bit of Thinking in the bath. Usually though, I just think about how atrocious my life is.
Just posting this again to make sure you see it. PM me if you want to talk. :) I'm here for you. It sometimes helps to talk about it to get it out of your system.
