I lose my **** when people litter. It's not hard to throw things in a garbage can or recycling bin. It's so lazy to just throw drop it on the ground rather than walk a few feet. Ugh.

It depends, things that are biodegradable I will just throw out somewhere, and then I do throw out things like straw wrappers, but I'm not going to throw out anything that's like fast food bags full of trash unless I have a trashcan to throw it in.

I do litter on the occasion because I'm an awful terrible person that deserves to be whipped for his sins. it's just a matter of me being too lazy to find a trash can.
you absolute vile disgusting filth I thought you were better than that, I'm blocking you rn. I THOUGHT I COULD TRUST YOU. I bet you don't recycle either, do you?

you don't even deserve to rot in a landfill for your sins BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE YOUR RUBBISH GOES THERE YOU LITTER TOSSING ****.

Matt, my perception of you has been completely destroyed with a single post. </3 Nothing will be the same again. You've torn my heart in two and you've not even had the courtesy to dispose of it in a designated waste area. You've just thrown it on the floor, like the litter you've thrown before it.

In seriousness: My litter goes into a bin. Any littering I've done has been completely unintentional and very rare. Like a receipt getting blown out my pocket in windy weather, that happened once. I think in my whole life my littering count is a single digit at most.

I detest littering; it's disgusting. I live on a busy main road unfortunately and every morning there's litter being thrown into our drive and scattered along the pavement. Good job we have some litter grabber things to pick it all up even though it's not our job.

Last summer when everybody broke up from school the park up the road was covered in glass bottles and wrappers so me and my mom actually went up there with our grabbers and picked up as much as we could. If everybody just put litter in the bin the world would be a nicer place.
Sometimes, you're better off alone.

I don't litter at all. When it comes to littering, I don't like litterbugs at all.

I am not a litterbug. It really irritates me when I see a pile of garbage just laying on the ground. Are people really so lazy that they don't even bother to find a trash can? -_-

I will never litter. I'll carry trash around in my pocket until I find a garbage can. I'll pick up trash I see blowing in the wind. It's really not that hard to NOT litter. People are just lazy. I make my goal, actually to pick up at least one piece of trash that I see when I'm walking around town etc.

I think this anti-littering campaign is a pretty good one :p it's captivating, to say the least.

I also find it a little funny when I went to see a friend of mine who lives in a different city. I'd pick up trash I found on the ground and he said, "You know, (city name) should pay you for cleaning their streets." And I just looked at him funny because I don't do it for money, I do it for a cleaner planet--even if I do only make a small impact. People where I live have a bit of a different attitude about it.

If you want to see something shocking... take a look at these pictures of the Taj Mahal... but zoomed out.
Spoiler:

I know it's a land fill, but I'm very disturbed by such images. I sincerely hope that we find some way to deal with our waste so that these become less and less common. The easiest way of course would be to reduce the amount of waste we produce in the first place... but let's face it. That is almost never going to happen with the way society and culture is... So we just need to find a way to dispose of our trash that doesn't harm the environment. It's nice to see so many products being made with biodegradeable packaging/recycled packaging these days, but it seems like too little too late.

I don't consider myself a litterer. Well, say, for example, I have an orange peel, or an apple core, or something like that, and there isn't a bin nearby. I can comfortably put that under a tree or something like that with a clean conscience, because I know it won't harm the environment. But actual litter? Like your McDonalds coke cups or plastic bags? It seriously annoys me to see this lying around, especially if there's a bin close by.

I will walk past something on the ground and pick it up. I remember once it looked like someone had a bag of rubbish or something, and had just thrown it into a little green-gardeny-area thing on the sidewalk. I did pick up all this rubbish, but I was annoyed while doing it. Why on earth would you do that? It's inconsiderate and stupid. (It was right outside a shopping centre, too, so it would have taken less than a minute to put it in a bin!)

If there isn't a bin nearby, I will hold on to the rubbish, or put it in one of my bags, and keep it until I find a bin. It isn't that hard.

Well see, that's not litter. You're actually helping the environment because then come along creatures known as detritovores (e.g. earthworms, milipedes etc) that consume this, breaking it down, and decomposers (e.g. bacteria, fungi etc) that break it down through molecular absorption into simpler components that are then recycled to provide nutrients for other organisms(including the decomposers/detritovores). :P

There are, of course, two different forms of decomposition, abiotic and biotic. It's mostly the latter we are concerned with as the former requires the use of an outside force such as a chemical or a physical process. Abiotic decomposition is what occurs when your body breaks down macromolecules(carbohydrates, lipids etc) to use their component parts to carry out their daily functions.

The other day I put a styrofoam takeout box in a trash can and was about to drop it in when I saw a piece of paper asking to put paper in the bin only.

I did it anyway because there are NO TRASH CANS ANYWHERE NEAR MY DESK AT WORK.

Littering is so dumb. The litter in my area is always the worst in spring because so many heathens throw trash out of their car in the winter, and when the snow melts it's all left behind. It looks and smells atrocious and ratchet as hell. So nasty.

I hate it when people even spit their gum on the ground. My college campus was the worst because the jerkwads there would spit their gum in the hall carpets and stairwells. Totally trashy people.
