This usually only happens when I'm actually talking to someone verbally and I mash two words together. We laugh. I've never been corrected for written grammar or spelling. It's so easy to get spelling right with auto correct that I don't understand how that is still a problem for some. Regarding grammar: people just need to put more effort in. If someone points out legitimate flaws learn from it and try harder.

It depends on the situation I guess. If you're just chatting about whatever over the internet though, I don't think there's much point to correcting someone if they make a spelling mistake or grammatical error as long as you can decipher what they're saying. People don't tend to learn correct spelling or grammar over interactions on the internet, so if I tell someone they incorrectly used 'there' instead of 'their', I highly doubt that will mean they never make that mistake again, assuming it wasn't a mere typo or brain-fart to begin with.

I am perfectly okay with being corrected, as long as the person correcting me isn't making a huge deal and being rude about it. Everyone makes mistakes. c:

I depends on how they do it
It's obvious the difference between someone being honest and trying to help your grammatical ways, and even more obvious when someone is being condescending.

I'm not bothered by it. People understand that I can make mistakes or typos, and they can get the gist of my message even with obscure grammar mistakes in my posts. (For instance, I end sentences with prepositions, and I know some people are still bothered by that, but the rule is changing and my point still gets across without any miscommunication.)

If you care enough to correct someone else's grammar then there's something wrong with you.
I corrected someone's grammar once at work. But he was a manager writing up a business letter, and the mistake he made was a pretty common one. I thought it better for him to look more professional rather than whatever problem might be caused by me correcting someone's grammar.

Apparently I just have a reputation for good grammar at my workplace, because all of my coworkers ask me really common spelling and grammar questions.

I'll only ever correct someone's grammar when I'm reviewing someone's story or essay. I mean, that's the only time it really counts here anyway, so it's kind of important.

And like Astinus, I've gained a reputation for good grammar. I'm the first person most people turn to when they don't know how to spell a word, or when they want to see if something is written correctly.

Nobody corrects me and if they do correct me then they are wrong. If I correct someone's grammar then they have messed up enough to annoy me enough to deserve to be corrected.

Ditto.

I mean, online I write as I would sound if I were speaking. Usually though, my grammar correcting skillz are kept to reviewing.

It does bother me though when people just... cannot type.

i h8 ppl that right lik dis.

If it's out of the blue, I probably find it slightly annoying, but only just enough to where I might be put off for a moment about it happening, and then I'll forget about it. Never been offended by it...I'd probably only be offended if someone was obviously doing it just to be a jerk about it.

I actually used to be one of those people who would correct any mistakes I saw, especially in online situations. I think I stopped because I realized that, honestly, unless someone asked specifically for it and/or the situation called for correct grammar, stuff like that wasn't warranted most of the time.

I correct grammar for everyone at school. They all always come to me to check their works. It makes sense, since I am the only one who speaks English on a daily basis. :/

Online... eh, I either laugh it out or correct it, or guess that s/he isn't an English speaker. People make mistakes after all. :>

I find it offensive only because my grammar and spelling are fantastic and most of my mistakes are just stupid mistakes or typos. I have no qualms about doing it to others though :P

I haven't had my spelling corrected in... forever lol. It's kind of hard to misspell something with autocorrect and such, plus spelling has always been a strong suit of mine. My grammar is pretty average, I know I say "Me and ____ went to the store..." even though it's "____ and I went to the store..." and I probably have a couple other mistakes, but it's the Internet and I type as I speak. I know when to be proper, though.

I'm just lazy :'(

I dont really like when people correct obvious typos cos its annoying. I mean obviously if I wrtie like this, or like thiis, I am not doing it on purpose.

I do however appreciate when someone corrects me when I use a wrong word, or when I mess up an idiom and they let me know. I love learning English so corrections are highly appreciated.
