I think that a lot of the posts in the whole hacks area of PC are pretty cringe worthy in general. I think I posted maybe 50 times in Rom Hacks and then I just couldn't deal with it anymore.
Yeah, I dont know what its like these days but I joined back when I feel like it was in its heyday, or riding the plateau of the heydays. Scizz was an active and contributing member coming out with plenty of intuitive and useful tools for hacking the GBA generation. The whole community had gotten plenty of experience hacking GBC ROMs. I was able to beta test on what I consider to be one of the PC community's greatest achievements, even if it was never fully completed, Pokemon ShinyGold. I am one of many that registered to PC solely to download SG. A ton of fun for someone who was looking to experience the great storyline, region and Pokedex of G/S/C with upgraded graphics. Zel got to throw in his own creativity into the story too, which I'm sure he enjoyed.
But enough of me inflating zel's ego. I just really thought it was a fantastic game, and had high regard for PC's hacker community. I also remember seeing far too many hacks die out, and many more recycle old ideas. And the worst: Fakemon. God those things were the awful. I would almost always write off playing your beta if your entire game was based on Fakemon. I had no interest in learning a new Pokedex unless Gamefreak was its creator.
