When you say something that is on your mind, or you tell a joke, do you say "just kidding" to clarify you're really joking around or is it just to cover up a thought that you really meant?

For the most part I say just kidding because I'm trying to tell a person something they did that bothers me but without outright saying it.
Although now I have stopped that habit and just say what's on my mind at the cost of being frowned upon.

If I tell a joke, it's usually pretty obvious.

If I tell a person that they are irritating me, it is also obvious.

I'm honest with people. Either I tell them what's up, or I say nothing at all. But my sarcasm makes its own entrance and you will know it when you hear it.

There is no need for me to say, "just kidding," unless the person who received the joke is insanely oblivious.

To be honest I don't know. I never really bothered to check or noticed any change in their expression.

Uh, no.

If it's a joke, I usually laugh at it because I'm one of those people who laugh at their own jokes. Most of what I say is sarcastic, or dry pan, so it's hard for some other people to tell if I'm being serious or not, and I don't like telling someone because I like to be mysterious.

People who say just kidding after saying something are the worse, unless it was meant as a joke and you see the other person get upset.

Most of the time, yes. I do because I don't want to feel like the person is going to get upset by the joke I try to make. I'm not very good at cracking jokes, so it's always necessary for me to say 'just kidding' to make sure they understand that's exactly my intention. Sometimes though, I do add an lol or an XD at the end as well, and that usually lets them know I mean no harm.

If you're a friend of mine you should know that almost everything I say isn't serious at all. When I'm with a friend and someone who doesn't know me well sometimes they seem confused or put off by something I say while my friend dies laughing. I've had a lot of people tell me that at first they thought I was kind of mean until they realized if I say something outrageously stupid or rude it's an automatic joke.

If it's a close friend and I say something that really shouldn't have said then I'll consider saying jk, but for the most part I don't really care and I'll say whatever it is I feel like saying and they can take it however they want. Not my problem.

If you feel the need to say "just kidding" then you're pussing out. That's not committing to a joke, and if you can't commit to the joke there's no point saying it in the first place.
