I recently got back into competitive battling after a five week break. I decided to "get back into the groove" and create a new team. The NU tier interests me because of the variety of pokemon you don't get to see very often. Some of my favorite pokes are in the tier as well.

I decided to build my team around feraligatr, but it hasn't been working out very well for me:

Feraligatr
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Torrent
Item: Life Orb
252 att, 252 spd, 4 hp
dragon dance, waterfall, aqua jet, ice punch

He serves as my physical sweeper. Unfortunately, he seems to lacking the power i need. He tends to be deadweight and not doing much for the team. I tried a bulky swords dance set, but that failed because he isn't tanky or fast enough.

My replacement (if i can't find a better way to use feraligatr):

Kabutops
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Weak Armor
Item: Life Orb
knock off, aqua jet, stone edge, rapid spin

Can sweep, but provides rapid spin support for typhlosion and swellow, priority, and knock off support. I might switch knock off for hone claws (it raises accuracy for stone edge, unlike sd).

Cradily
Ability: water absorb
Nature: careful
item: lefties
252 sp. def 252. hp. 4 def
stealth rock, recover, toxic, seed bomb

Pretty basic. Stealth rock for breaking sashes and residual damage. Seed bomb> giga drain because i want it to be physically based. Its my special wall.

Weezing
Ability: levitate
Nature: bold
item: black sludge
252 def 252 hp 4 sp. def
willowisp, sludge bomb, pain split, haze

Defensive wall. Its not tanking hits as well as i want it to.

Swellow
Ability: guts
Nature: jolly
item: toxic orb
facade, brave bird, quick attack, u-turn

Meant for hit and run and scouting. Its a great late game cleaner with priority quick attack.

Typhlosion
Ability: blaze
Nature: modest
item: choice scarf
Eruption, flamethrower, extrasensory, focus blast

He outspeeds everything with choice scarf, even without timid nature. I use modest because it lacks consistent power.

And last, but not least- my (unexpected) star:

Raichu
Ability: lightning rod
Nature: timid
Item: air balloon
Nasty plot, thunderbolt, grass knot, focus blast

I win 80% of my games because of this guy. All it takes is to bait the electric type attack with swellow or feraligatr, and switch into raichu. He gets to +1 because of lightning rod. Next, they switch out into their ground type as i set up the nasty plot. Now I'm at +3 and i use grass knot. the air balloon protects me and forces them to go for an unstab or non super effective move.

My walls work really well with raichu because weezing can take care of grass types and ground types. Feraligatr is my weak point on my team, which is why i want to try out kabutops. Weezing is wrecked by knock off and doesnt seem to take physical hits as well as i want him to.

Aqua Jet isn't necessary on Dragon Dance sets, as the Speed boost means that Feraligatr won't really need priority. Aqua Jet only sees use on Swords Dance sets to compensate for the lack of Speed. Dragon Dance Feraligatr needs all the coverage it can get:
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb

As I mentioned previously, only Swords Dance Feraligatr can make use of Aqua Jet:
-Swords Dance
-Waterfall
-Aqua Jet
-Ice Punch/Return
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 180 HP/252 Atk/76 Spe
Item: Lum Berry/Mystic Water/Splash Plate

Giga Drain is still preferred over Seed Bomb on Cradily because the recovery that Giga Drain grants is more preferable over the 5 BP you get with Seed Bomb. Plus, you already have a physical attacker in Feraligatr. I think you mean Storm Drain on Cradily, as it can't have Water Absorb. And Storm Drain's Special Attack boost is another reason why Giga Drain is preferred over Seed Bomb. If you want a physical move that badly on Cradily, use Rock Slide over Toxic.

Fire Blast is preferred over Flamethrower on Typhlosion, as 85% accuracy is still acceptable.

Thats what i meant. Giga drain will definitely be useful. But, now i have 4 special attackers. Should i run a physical move on weezing over sludge bomb?

Ill try feraligatr again. Kabutops didnt see much use, either. Which set for feraligatr do you recommend? I prefer the dragon dancing set. Should i opt for ice punch for the grass types and dragon/flying types? Im walled by them if i run earthquake.

Weezing learns no viable physical moves outside of Explosion, which is suicidal for walling tendencies, so you'll have to make do with Sludge Bomb.

For Dragon Dance Feraligatr, as I mentioned, don't run Aqua Jet. See the Dragon Dance set I posted.

If you need a physical Grass Pokemon, Torterra is the better option over Cradily, even though it's neutral to Water:
-Wood Hammer
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Synthesis
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/144 Atk/112 Def
Item: Leftovers

Your team is suffering from a problem that most teams posted in this forum suffer: misguided direction. You say that this team is built around Feraligatr but at a glance, there isn't exactly anything that helps take care of Gatr's counters. DD Gatr is supposed to be used as a late game sweeper-basically, you send him out when his counters are out and you can freely set up then proceed to rampage on the opposing team.

I guess my advise is, which also takes the form of a question, why did you choose these Pokemon? You "decided" to build around Feraligatr but your team's synergy is optimal at best. You don't actually need a wall in every team you make. The key to handling opponents is the utilization of resistances.
