Welcome to the second annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in the Pokémon Polls board, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please read the Rules/FAQ to find out more about the tournament:

Spoiler:

  • Every week, two new polls will be stickied at the top of the Pokémon Polls board. Each thread will include a different elemental type, and the list of Pokémon to vote from.
  • You aren’t required to pick just one Pokémon- you can vote for as many as you like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pokémon with the most votes at the end of the week will face off against the other winning Pokémon in a final poll to crown the champion!
  • In order to preserve space, we’ve grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pokémon family together. Some Pokémon (ex.: the Nidoran families) may be exempt from this rule.
  • For every poll, at least one runner-up will be added to a wildcard poll before the finale. This will give these Pokémon a shot at redemption, and one more opportunity to win the tournament.
  • In the event of a tie at the end of the week, Brendino will have the tie-breaking vote. Pokémon tied for first that aren't selected will be immediately entered into one of the wildcard polls.
  • Furthermore, members who vote and post for a majority of weeks during the tournament will receive an emblem depicting the winning Pokémon!
  • If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to Brendino to get it sorted out.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until October 18th, so get voting!

Going by the huge plethora of Pokemon I voted for, you can easily tell Fairy is one of my fave types of all time. Here's the ones who tickle my pixilated heart the most:

Clefairy line: The "original" fairies of the Pokemon world, and given their connection to the moon you could easily tell they never fitted their previous Normal-type in the first place. The line are also really good attackers with some nice defenses making them versatile in combat.

Jigglypuff line: This line has been a true fan fave for many years and as a result Jigglypuff has always been in the SSB games on a consistent basis. Gaining not just Fairy-type but also the Competitive ability really gave these pink balls the boost they needed.

Marill line: Another fan fave that showed a true example of something which started off weak and then only got better as every generation. Azumarill is not only cute but it's a total fighter.

Togepi line: Another case of improvement thanks to Fairy-type. Togekiss has always been a powerful special attacker and with its reclassification it now has new tools to work with, still making it the competitive threat that it's been.

Mawile: It's one of the more interesting Fairy-types and has a very strong, cool-looking Mega Evolution to boot. It may have been deemed an uber but with Huge Power, its many resistances and the tools it has to use it Mawile is one to be feared.

Carbink / Diancie: Pretty much same reasons as I said on the Rock-type poll, these things are adorable as heck and they have tankish defenses alongside some interesting support moves to use.

Sylveon: One of my fave Eeveelutions ever. It's not only a strong special attacker but also tanks special hits for days. And it's extremely cute which is what one expects from anything related to Eevee.

Klefki: I like using the little tricks this bunch of keys can do. It can set up and dish damage in return or it can downright annoy the foe. It may be small but it can definitely hold its own in battle.

Cottonee line: Currently Unova's only basic Fairy-types, and of course another well-known Prankster user combined with its high Speed it can annoy many things before they can annoy it. Oh and did we mention Whimsicott is one of the fluffiest things ever?

Flabébé line: A line based around flower sprites is definitely something more like traditional fairies, and the fact you can get them in different colors makes collecting all five variants all the more fun. The blue flower ones are the prettiest but all the colors look beautiful.

Xerneas: The first Fairy-type Legendary, and it's one of the most beautiful Legendaries with those really majestic colors on its antlers. Also, thanks to its Geomancy and boost to Fairy moves thanks to its ability, Xerneas can easily wreck a lot that stands in its way despite being called the Pokemon of life. Pretty also why I play X more than Y in my opinion.
Gone forever for personal reasons.

When it comes to Fairy type Pokemon, I only voted for Xerneas. Sure it is the first Fairy type Legendary Pokemon, that is one of the reasons why I like it. Course ever since when it was revealed last year, it was another reason why I chose to buy Pokemon X. Not to mention, it is also one of the Pokeball Pokemon in the new Smash Bros.

In this poll I voted for Sylveon, Klefki, and Xerneas.

Sylveon is the only Eeveelution I like besides Vaporeon, and it was granted with nice stats and a good movepool. Plus those Pixilated Hyper Voices are fantastic.

Klekfi is one of those Pokemon that gets a lot of hate. Sentences like "it's just a stupid key Pokemon" and "Game Freak's running out of ideas" are often used to describe it, but:
Spoiler:

I find that funny.

And raindow jesus bambi Geomancy Xerneas will destroy all. Except for Gyro Ball Aegislash.

I voted for some, but to sum up...

Sylveon gets an automatic vote for being an eeveelution. Plus, with an ability like Pixilate, why hate it?

Dedenne gets my vote too for being so darn cute! Another cute and useful Pikachu ripoff.
Train them please!

The Clefairy line, Dedenne and Xerneas for me :)

Clefairy's been a favourite of mine ever since the Clefairy mini-game in Pokémon Stadium, and I love its evos just as much :) It was one of my faves when it was a Normal type so it naturally followed suit that it would be my favourite Fairy when it became one :) Dedenne just because I can't with its cuteness and Xerneas because it's so majestic and breathtaking :)

I also have always loved the cuteness of Azurill but not as big a fan of the whole line is all :)

Whimsicott, definitely! The only reason Whimsicott isn't my favourite grass type is because Cherrim is in the way. :P So it can have the Fairy type crown from me no problem. It's really cute and I love the colours in its design. It was also pretty fun to train, the one time I managed to rip myself away from using Cherrim as my grass type!

Azumarill, but that's more because I liked using it in BW2 as a rain abuser in OU. This thing is cancer in XY.

This type shouldn't have been added, really.

hehe the cute type!!!!

Clefable line - one of my all time favorites. I always found this line so useful and now that it's fairy type it's been elevated xoxox

Mawile - Like I said before always loved it, but had little reason to use it because of how poorly it performed. Finally it has become useful and it has a great added typing!!

Florges line - Used it during my first run of the Kalos region and I instantly came to love it. Great design, concept, and fun to use/useful. It's def made its way into my top favorite Pokemon.

Togekiss. Loved using it competitively for a while (Paraflinch yayy)
I also voted for Wigglytuff and Clefable. Had a few fun ingame runs using these guys thanks to their diverse movepools.
Plus who didn't love clefairy says? (said no one ever)

Ah, the Fairy type. In all honesty, my least used type. All the old classics who retroactively became Fairies were never on my teams, and of all the new ones, I've only used two.

That said, i voted for Flabebe. Not only was the color gimmick interesting enough that I chased down all of them, but Flabebe himself won me over with his tenacity and versatile move pool.

The only other Fairy I've used was Xerneas, and I wasn't impressed. He goes in the box, and doesn't get my vote. Sorry, buddy.

Honestly I might as well just vote for every single one but I'll limit it to Togekiss, Azumarill, Sylveon, Dedenne, and Klefki. Although I haven't used the last two I really really find them really adorable (and will likely use them sometimein thefuture) and the others have always either a. served me well, or b. has always been a favorite (mostlyin the case of Azumarill).

Out of those I actually have plushes to three of them hahaha.

It took me until a recent Nuzlocke to realize this, but I really like the Snubbull line. Not your typical cute fairies, they'll Intimidate you and beat you up. I like a lot of the other early stage fairies like Cottonee and Spritzee, but not so much their evolutions.

Togekiss is my choice here. It's cute looking, and very much unique and different from all other fairy-types listed, in my opinion. Battling-wise, I personally find it to be quite helpful; with its Serene Grace ability, it could take tons of advantage of a lot of moves that this Pokémon has access to, such as Ominous Wind, Air Slash, and so forth. Have used it plenty of times before, and it has never failed me.

Along with above, I also like Whimsicott. It's adorable all-around; who wouldn't like it? Haha. It's one of my most-favorite Pokémon out there, right beside Vulpix and Ninetales. Similarly to Togekiss, it's also very good in terms of battling. Due to its Prankster ability, it always gets priority when using non-damaging moves such as Encore, Stun Spore, and others, and if they're put into some strategy of sorts, Whimsicott would be able to wreak some major havoc. Cute, but deadly.

What a coincidence, we voted for the exact same 2 evolutionary lines right before me. {XD}

I absolutely loooove Togekiss! I was always neutral for Togepi and Togetic, yet Togekiss's design is amazing so many reasons. She was my favorite pokemon I ever used in story mode (HGSS), because I originally just carried her around because Togepi was a plot point, but she proved to be so useful post-story mode with viability. {<3}

I also voted Whimsicott, because she's so cute. She's my favorite fully-evolved Unova pokemon (that can actually be used in battling). I also have a love for grass-types, and before she became a fairy, I considered her among my favorite grass types.

Fairy is my 5th favorite type, and I love so many of them which I didn't mark including Clefairy, Azumarill, and Floette, and so many more. So I'll be happy with just about any of the many cute Fairy options if they make it into the top.

I voted primarily on appearance in all honesty.

Granbull, Aromatisse, Whimsicott, Carbink/Diancie, Klefki and Florges are all really unique looking, interesting and aesthetically pleasing designs with many of them also being very interesting concepts.

Bonus points to Whimsicott, Klefki, Diancie and Florges for also having serious potential in battle also. More to Klefki for that amazing meme xD

I nearly vote for Xerneas too, just because Geomancy but I just couldn't since I like other designs so much more.

I just love the Azumarill line. They're cute, Azumarill's amazing in competitive, and they have a sweet typing. I like Mawile because...well, it was an old Pokemon nobody really cared about before Generation V. That was when it got Sheer Force as a Hidden Ability, but it still remained outclassed and forgotten.

Then, X and Y came about, and so did the Mega Evolution mechanic and the Fairy typing...

...and this Pokemon became a fan favourite. Its Mega Evolution's among the strongest, packing a 105 base Attack stat (that's a 339 total Attack stat at maximum EVs + beneficial Atk nature) and Huge Power, meaning that its raw 339 Attack becomes an absolutely scary 678 Attack, higher than the likes of Mega Mewtwo X - the current Pokemon with the highest base Attack, at 190 (526 raw Atk at max + beneficial nature).

In short and non-technical lingo, Mega Mawile hurts. 'nuff said. Along with its sheer power, Mawile itself is why I picked it as a favourite. It's got a unique appearance, and its Pokedex entry intrigues me as its venus flytrap-like head thing was originally just a horn. I also like how Mawile jumped from being a worthless Pokemon to something loved with just 2 changes. Azumarill's very much the same, being a competitive favourite since Gen IV, then Gen VI giving it a Fairy typing and Belly Drum + Aqua Jet to use made it even better.

The Fairy type definitely has some scary cuties like Azumarill, and unknown (well, not so much anymore) threats like Mawile. Definitely one of my more favoured types.

I like Spritzee. Because it looks like a plague mask bird. That's pink.

I really don't like fairy types.
