Considering I went to a private school for most of my life, I was never in any areas that required us to wear uniforms. I could understand why they would (possibly to keep people from wearing too much skimpy or offensive clothing), but I don't think it's really necessary for them to enforce rules as such.
Don't most private school's have uniform codes? I could have sworn that was the case, which makes your school quite an exception. Anyways, why don't you think that it's necessary for schools to enforce a rule pertaining to uniforms?

They say that uniform is good for parents who don't have much money to spend on clothes but the uniform itself is very expensive, well it was at my school anyway. I mean a Blazer was £60 and I had 3 a year.

I liked my uniform, it was made out of recycled things and was very comfy. It was nice to just wake up and know exactly what you're putting on each day.
Sometimes, you're better off alone.

I hate uniforms except for Japanese ones. Japanese schoolgirls... Yummy!

On a more serious tone, IMO uniforms make schools closer to prisons and rob people of their individuality.

Wait why did you need 3 a year? My skirt for my uniform was 60 bucks which was expensive but I only had 2 the entire 3 years I wore it.

You guys all have unique uniforms while I was stuck with the generic high school uniform for my country. :v

The only unique uniform we had was the Batik shirt that differs per school. It's a way to recognize which school is which, and because of that it gets really colorful during inter-school competitions. :v

Uniforms.

I'm probably biased since I live in a country where schools have to wear uniforms, and by the same token, I actually liked my school uniform.

but that said, I just think uniforms are better in general. For me, I'd probably stress out too much with what to wear each day, also back when I was in school it was easier to just stay in my uniform all day, even when I got home, until I had a shower and got into my pajamas.

If I grew up in a non-uniform school I'd probs think differently though. Hard to have a reasonable opinion since I've only ever been in uniform schools

What do you mean? There was a specific uniform that all high schools stood by?

So aside from the Batik uniform, every high school here goes with a white shirt with long blue-gray pants/skirt that is supposed to reach the ankle. Junior high schools go with a white shirt with long navy-blue pants/skirt reaching the ankle as well, while elementary schools go with a white shirt with short red pants/skirt reaching only to the knee.

And then there's the white shirt white pants/skirt combination for all of them, with the pants/skirt at the same length as the colored ones. It's only used at Monday, since we have a weekly flag ceremony. There's also the scout uniform, which only started to be used in schools as a uniform during my final year in high school.

Private schools normally have their own uniforms that differs from the above mentioned, normally with the pants/skirt only reaching the knee length like the elementary students.

And that's that. :v

EDIT: Here's a picture of the generic uniform in Indonesia.
Spoiler:

It makes differentiating between elementary, junior high and high school students easier though.

I don't really care that much. I've gone to schools that have had or not had uniforms and I don't have a preference. The uniform was nice because you didn't had to think about what you had to wear in the morning, but when there's only 2 days out of the week where you don't wear one and you end up only having like 3 outfits. Or at least, that's what happened to me and my friends haha. I kind of like not having a uniform now, but I probably wouldn't mind having one in high school.
