Donkey Kong Country

The first one. I got the second one one year for Christmas and it just bothered me immensely to have something with a "2" on my shelf without the original. Purely because of that. Didn't even want to play it. I had played my uncle's before and I liked my sequel better. Simply because it felt incomplete and all alone without its predecessor

Even as a little kid I was all wrapped up in the little details

The k through 12 online thing.

I would have benefited from that so much! Every time I see the commercials, it makes me sad because they had to wait until AFTER I graduated to do it. I know that sounds really stupid, but yeah. XD

For some reason I REALLY REALLY wanted this. I told my mom but expected not to get it, because we didn't tend to get little gadgets like that. Then one Christmas she got my sister and I little things in our stockings...and my sister got the 20 Questions game. I was so mad. It was like she was mocking me. :(

(in reality she just forgot that I wanted it lmao)

I saw a commercial for Mario Party 3 and wrote down all the things it said and showed it to my mom, hiding my cute face behind it. I have always hated asking for things directly because it makes me feel selfish or demanding. I never did get that game, but I rented it and...for some reason, couldn't access the mini-games. So I didn't want it anymore...does this still even count? lol

That reminds me of when Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire came out, I really wanted Sapphire, so after it came out, I left a ton of stuff around the house before I left for school. One of them I drew a box on a piece of paper, and on the side I wrote "Put Pokémon Sapphire here." and I left it on my pillow, and I would leave for school and when I came home, I would rush to it to see if it was there and it wasn't and it was just very sad for me.

A GameBoy Advance. Still never got one.

I didn't mind, though. There was always something else and I rarely stay hung up on anything. Pokémon cards were the go-to gifts, my family realized. If they couldn't afford much, I was thrilled with booster packs.

Have I ever told you that I've always wanted a PSP? Never had one even today.

Another thing would be my own room. Someplace not as cramped as mine, where us 4 siblings and my mom sleep in one room. Someplace where I know that everything inside is mine.

I did get my own room last June when we moved to a new place. Although I'm sharing it with my sister, but hey, at least it's not cramped. :v

This basically WAS my childhood. The entire question of this thread.

My mom would often be very dubious about the amount of money we had available, telling me that we never had enough to get anything I wanted. (When this was a lie and when it wasn't, I can't tell you. But I assume it was a lie many times) If I wanted something, I'd often have to wait two or three years to get it, if I even did at all. Or I'd get the "Just wait until Christmas."

Some notable things I can think of though are: Super Smash Bros. (the original), a Wii (got one only when my fiance moved in with me), any sort of fan merchandise (just recently got some Pokemon plushies at least), and Halloween costumes. (I'd often have to scrap together my own from cheap materials on several years)
Well, when I started University and got access to more money than I'd ever dreamed of as a child, I bought most of the things I really wanted. I think I might have actually over-compensated a little - I was a very jealous child, and it seemed like my friends got all the cool stuff whilst I didn't get anything. I got plenty of things, but I was the type of kid who thought that enough was never enough. xD

...but one thing I did want and never got was a Transmetal III Megatron. Damn, that figure was amazing. I DID get an Optimal Optimus, but never a dragon Megatron to pit him against.
