Well, this is actually my first try at making banners...yeah yeah yeah, I only have MS Paint...but I did my best, and here's what I came up with...I hope it's decent for my first attempts.

Feel free to be as harsh as you want. I need some good advice...

You just threw the text over them right?

Looks like you'd expect.. text over a photo...

4/10 For being the most in love with yourself member on PC.

That's a joke, but it's also serious at the same time, I've seen your posts in the Pictures thread :P

Yeah it's a joke.

Also it's hard to put graphics on pictures on MS Paint.*wishes he had photoshop* I tried it with my avy...the banner around it didn't turn out as well as I hoped.

Have any sugestions for me? I mean as far as how to apply graphics to a picture on paint...as I said it was my first time...hopefully I get better.

They really aren't a work of art anything. Banners are time consuming and as I mentioned before, the one on my avy didn't turn out too well.

It's said that you're your own worst critic, but still it's simply cuting out the part of the picture you want to use, and then finding the right font and color to post on it. I've been experimenting with it before hand, and I can use paint pretty well. I admit though, if I would have been paying attention, I would have put a banner around the banners to give it more of a personalized look...but there again it's the amount of time I had and my laziness...

I truly didn't put this thread here to "show off my work". But instead I put it here for my work to be critiqued and advice to be given on how to better my performance with the tools at my disposal.

But thanks for the compliments MD! ^^

A real nice effect for paint is adding lines, so use the line tool and make a line from one end to the other, and then leave a pixel worth of space and do another line. That's how I used to do my paint banners. A pretty good effect. You can do that with single pixels, to give it a nice 'layer' effect in paint.

A suggestion. Don't just use MS paint. Before I started to use other software, I used a combination of paint and word. You can make decent texts and editing in microsoft word, then load into paint only when you actually want to draw something.

Well, I'm not trying to be mean.. But it kinda looks cheap/fake/etc... ^^-; Take your time, don't rush! xD;; ~origin
Get that effect from using paint and being limited in ability. First works are normally cheap/fake/etc. ;)

I don't like using word unless it's for typing essays and fanfics. But I'll try that...and the banner idea. I might redo my banners and such with banners.
