Alright! Time for yet another helping!

Update #3

Spoiler:
After beating Burgh, I went north to the tail end of Castelia City, where Colress checked out my Cottonee and knew it valued me. He wanted to challenge me and went over to Route 4.

Where he awaited, and since I had a Fire-type he was nothing really worth mentioning. I checked around some houses and got some items that might help me later, then before battling any trainers I went up to the Desert Resort to get my next team member...

A Dwebble! I named it Crabcake. I considered naming it Fruitcake, since Crustle has a much bigger rock on its head, but since it's a crab I think that name fits it perfectly. Anyway, I then fought the trainers on Route 4, none of them were anything too crazy. After getting ownership of Join Avenue, I arrived in Nimbasa City, and after a bit of looking around got HM02 for Fly from Bianca. Then I went back to the Desert Resort.

Here, the trainers were not quite as much of a breather as the ones on Route 4 were. I got everything I needed to, including TM39 for Rock Tomb in the Relic Castle, and was on my way. Then I went back to Nimbasa City and took on the Subway Bosses with Nate.

His Servine scored a critical hit on the Gurdurr, which was nice. Then I went to Route 16 and Lostlorn Forest, which had more trainers, a few of which were annoying, some of which weren't. After that I went back to the former Nimbasa Gym and went on the roller coaster. Once I was done there I went to the real Gym, battling the ladies in Elesa's path. In doing so, Ginger reached Level 28, and I used the Sun Stone I got in one of the houses to get her to evolve.

And there was my little Not Jewish friend! I think since it has a more Gingerbread Man-ish look it fits well enough.

The next day (today), I decided to have my hand at Elesa with the levels I was at. Did it work out?

Yeah, this didn't go over well at all. After at least seven minutes of her squirming through Volt Switches and one of her Pokémon (Joltik) only going down because of Stealth Rock, at that time both Stocking and Fireside had been paralyzed, and Crabcake had already been downed by Joltik. Then, I only had Ginger left, and she somehow got past Emolga but quickly bit it to Zebstrika, ending the fight.

So I had to do some more training, and after a bit of leveling I felt I was prepared, especially after this.

With that, Fireside evolved into Magmar, which might be what i'll need to stand a chance against her this time. Did Round 2 go any different?

I'd say yes it did. I once again began with Stocking against Emolga. She immediately used Volt Switch and went to Flaaffy, who got Thunder Waved. My Return did just under half, then she paralyzed me. But I was still able to get in Light Screen before she used Volt Switch and went to Joltik. I switched in Fireside, but she used Volt Switch for hardly anything before going back to Flaaffy. Thankfully, Flame Burst finished that off.
Emolga was next up. I switched over to Crabcake, who took a light hit from Aerial Ace. She used Volt Switch, but it didn’t do much thanks to the Eviolite and Light Screen, then she went to Joltik before I used Stealth Rock and my Light Screen wore off. She Volt Switched to Emolga, who took Stealth Rock damage…and even then Rock Slide didn’t finish her!!! And her Sitrus Berry knocked her up from healing range. She killed me with Volt Switch and went to Joltik, which Fireside slammed with Flame Burst, and a critical hit too just to rub it in her face.
Next was Emolga again, and Stealth Rock almost killed her. She healed, sure enough, but I got in a good hit with Flame Burst. Her Aerial Ace did a decent chunk, but I was able to finish her with one more hit.
Zebstrika was last, and she immediately killed me with a critical hit Volt Switch that may or may not have mattered. I went in to Ginger, and used Charm to cut her Attack in half before she used Flame Charge for 1/5. I was then at 3/5 before using Giga Drain, but her Sitrus Berry got her to 3/4. Two more turns and the battle was over, and just for kicks I got the critical hit on the last turn.

With that I got the Bolt Badge and TM72 for Volt Switch, then got some Team Plasma grunts out of Nick's way before he told me about his sister's Purrloin. I then beat some trainers on Route 5, including Charles the heartbreaker in a Rotation Battle. Once I crossed the Driftveil Drawbridge into the city...

Stuff got real, it got physical in fact! After getting some items I went and beat Rood, got N's Zorua which I won't use, and then went into the Gym and fought a few trainers before making my way to the Gym Leader. How did that turn out?

Better than I planned for. Krokorok came first, and I began with Crabcake and got Intimidated. He used Crunch and did 2/7 my health because of the Eviolite, but lowered my Defense. Then I used Bug Bite and stole his Sitrus Berry. He used Torment…and lived my Bug Bite with 1 HP. He healed, so I set up Stealth Rock. He used Crunch and knocked me near half, lowering my Defense again before I did around half with Bug Bite. Then he killed me with Crunch. I went for Stocking, and he used Sandstorm before I finished him with Return.
Onix came after that. He used Rock Slide, and did around half with a critical hit, but I got in Reflect. I went over to Ginger and ate his Rock Slide like a champ, then slammed him with Giga Drain.
Sandslash was next, and I went over to Stocking again before taking a Bulldoze as the sandstorm subsided. He used Hone Claws, but I scored a critical hit Return that knocked him below half before my Reflect wore off. He used Rock Slide and flinched me, then scored a critical hit with another Rock Slide and killed me, but Ginger finished him with Giga Drain.
Excadrill was last, and I went for Charm before he used Bulldoze and slowed me down a bit. Then I used Leech Seed before he got in a Rock Slide, and went for another Charm before another Rock Slide hit. I switched over to Fireside, but even with -4 his Rock Slide still did JUST over half, but not before Leech Seed knocked me back up a bit. I was faster, and killed him with Flame Burst for the win.

So after getting the Quake Badge and TM78 for Bulldoze, I left the Gym, where Nick was waiting, and after being invited to the PWT I healed up and left it off there.

Got through Route 4 and all of Nimbasa's attractions easily. I decided to save the Desert Resort for another time and visit it when I get my Axew and Baltoy. After grinding everyone to level 30, I went on to Elesa's gym and won with no issues. I pretty much ran across the bridge to Driftveil and went straight to the gym after exploring the town a bit and talking to Team Plasma. I probably should have leveled up a bit more before fighting Clay, but with a Lilligant on hand, it's really not a big deal.

On my way to do the PWT subplot thang then I'll be catching my Baltoy and Axew afterwards. I'm so ready to have new party members, haha. Until then!

Let's get back on this.

Update #4

Spoiler:
After defeating Clay, I went over to the PWT and took on the Driftveil Tournament, which wasn’t anything too difficult.

Then we had to deal with Team Plasma at the Plasma Frigate. After wading through them, the Shadow Triad booted us off. After that, I caught a Ducklett on the Driftveil Drawbridge to use Surf and Fly for, then got HM03 for Surf from Cheren on Route 6. I used it and went to the Mistralton Cave to get my next team member.

This was a bit of a doozy to get one with Sturdy, but I named it Nutcracker. After that, I dealt with the trainers in the Relic Passage and Route 6. None of them were too tough. Also, I stole the SilverPowder from Volcarona.

And in doing so, Nutcracker evolved into Lairon, which is good. There were a few Ace Trainers in the Mistralton Cave which proved to be a bit tough with Dragon Dance Axew.

But it was worth it, because Crabcake evolved, too. And I got Rock Slide there, which is very helpful. Chargestone Cave had some stupid fights, though, particularly the Triple Battle.

But once I arrived in Mistralton City and got the Master Ball from Professor Juniper, I headed north to Route 7. I dealt with a couple not too tough trainers there.

Celestial Tower, however, had it really starting to throw it on me with a couple opponents, particularly this Musharna that put me to sleep and tried to use Defense Curl. It didn’t last too long, though it was still kinda stupid.

Anyway, I got to the top, rang the bell, and went through Skyla’s Gym to get to her. Did that prove to be worth my time?

Swoobat was first, and I started with Crabcake. She used Psychic for EXACTLY half my health, while I used Stealth Rock. She used Acrobatics, which I lived, then I used Rock Slide, which failed to kill her. She healed, and I used X-Scissor for less than half before she killed me with Psychic. So I went in for Fireside, and she used Attract but I hit through it and killed her with Lava Plume.
Swanna was next, and I switched in for Ginger as she used Surf for over 1/4. After a bit of thinking about my decision, I used Stun Spore before she killed me with Air Slash. I went into Stocking and used Light Screen before she got fully paralyzed. I went for Return, which didn’t do very much and knocked her to her Sitrus Berry before she used Surf, which did around 1/5. Unfortunately, she had Roost, which got her to 3/4 (I seriously have never seen her use that with that Swanna to my recollection). Luckily I got a critical hit with Return, then ate her Surf and finished her with one more hit. Then my Light Screen wore off.
Bad timing for that, because out came her Sigilyph! Not helping was that she didn’t take Stealth Rock damage thanks to Magic Guard. Thankfully she missed with Hypnosis, allowing me to set up Light Screen again. Her Psychic didn’t do much while Return was almost a 3HKO…and she lived with 1 HP then used Hypnosis just before my Light Screen wore off. Then she finished off Stocking after two turns. I went over to Nutcracker, and thankfully she missed with Hypnosis before I finished her with Iron Head.
Skarmory was last, and I switched over to Fireside as she used Steel Wing, which hit for a small chunk, but it burned her with Flame Body! That allowed me to finish her with Lava Plume for the win.

So after I got the Jet Badge and TM62 for Acrobatics, I was invited on Skyla’s plane to Lentimas Town with Professor Juniper and Bianca. Once I got there, I checked out the creepy Strange House and then went through Reversal Mountain with Bianca, which had some annoying double battles. I arrived in Undella Town, where I caught my final team member…

That would be a Staryu. After getting a good one with Natural Cure, I named it Ornamental.

I went to Route 14, which had some very annoying trainers, particularly the Triple and Rotation battles. In the mist of it, I flew back to Aspertia City and used Surf to get a Water Stone…

Which allowed me to evolve Ornamental into a Starmie. And I retaught Rapid Spin, as per the rules. After I was done with Route 14 I took on Nick and beat him with a bit of difficulty, then beat the trainers in the Undella Bay before proceeding.

Route 13 had a few dickhead trainers, too, although that can be owed in part to trying to use my lower leveled Starmie on them. But I did have Ornamental defeat Cobalion in three hits.

Once I got to Lacunosa Town, after Juniper and Bianca went all Kyurem 101 on me, I teamed up with Nick to take care of Team Plasma, and Nutcracker evolved into Aggron afterward. I took care of the few trainers on Route 12, toured Village Bridge and dealt with some idiot Gentleman, then beat the last few trainers on Route 11 before entering Opelucid City. There, I met with Iris, healed up and saved the game.

- Cleared the Galactic Hideout, beat Cyrus and Saturn
- Santa evolved into Rhydon and then into Rhyperior
- Headed into Mt. Coronet and prepared for something huge
- Beat Jupiter and Mars with Barry, Cyrus all my own
- Captured Palkia in the Master Ball, no time to waste
- Saved the World
- Headed to Sunyshore City
- Beat Volkner and made him happy again!

- Got HM07 Waterfall from Jasmine
- Went into Victory Road
- Found my way through, didn't grind too much
- Beat Barry at the Elite 4 gate
- Challenged the Elite 4

- Beat Aaron easy with Santa and Lucia, the perfect couple, lol

- Beat Bertha, but she was kind of hard because Lucia was weak to her STAB and I needed her to use Solarbeam. Yom Tov was other MVP in this match with Surf and Ice Beam

- Flint was easy to the point where he got Sun-Powered-Flare Blitz off and Yom Tov fainted. Alexandra came through with her bulk and rest was Santa-sweep.

- Lucian was tough but I had the Advantage with Feaster's Night Slash, Alexandra's Crunch and Santa's Megahorn. His Bronzong went down to Lucia's Flamethrower and rest was up to Alexandra

- Then it was the Champion... Oh Cynthia... The hardest Champion of them all. HAKJFHSALKJH. She was a pain in the bum and I can't remember all the details from the heated battle with her. Her Lucario went down easy with Alexandra's Earthquake, her Roserade and Milotic were Lucia's meal and Santa handled her Garchomp like a true Champion!

-The Elite Four: Sidney wasn't very hard. Mattathias could handle most of his Pokémon. Cacturne and Shiftry were weak against Light's Flame Wheel as well. Phoebe was very hard. I got stuck there for some time. Not really weird if two of your Pokémon aren't able to hit ghosts at all, two are weak against ghost moves, one's best move is still Flame Wheel and the last one is a Delibird. Managed to beat her with the use of a few revives and potions, then beat the other members as well and became Champion. -> COMPLETED THE CHALLENGE

Well, we're nearing the end here.

Update #5

Spoiler:
After arriving in Opelucid City, I went over to Route 9 and beat the trainers there.

None of them were any difficult, but there were those very bad men that tried to throw me for a curveball. After I was done with that route, I went back to Lentimas Town since I had JUST enough Blue Shards to get Superpower, which I gave Nutcracker. Then I went to the Opelucid Gym, organized my movesets and took on the trainers, some of which had some pretty strong stuff. Then we had the Gym Leader, Drayden, to go for. How was that?

Druddigon was first up, and I began with Fireside. I managed to get in both Will-o-Wisp and Confuse Ray on it, but Rock Slide was still a 2HKO. I went for Crabcake, and he hurt himself in confusion, so I was able to get in the Shell Smash. His Sitrus Berry got him near 70% or so and allowed me to beat him with X-Scissor.
Flygon was next, and he lived my X-Scissor and knocked me very low with Earth Power. Despite that, I got the 2HKO.
Altaria was next, and also OHKO’ed by Rock Slide.
Haxorus was last, and he lived my X-Scissor before killing me with Dragon Tail. I went for Ornamental, but he was somehow faster than me and OHKO’ed with X-Scissor. I went for Stocking, and he used Dragon Dance while I hit with Blizzard, and left him with a sliver of health. Unfortunately, I forgot that he still had his Hyper Potion, which he used, as Return barely did anything. He used Dragon Dance again, but I managed to score another hit with Blizzard. And he used Dragon Dance yet again, but I scored yet another hit with Blizzard, winning me the fight.

With that, I got the Legend Badge and TM82 for Dragon Tail. Then as Drayden spoke of Kyurem’s tale with Zekrom and Reshiram, Team Plasma came and froze Opelucid City.

I took on the grunts there, and then got to Zinzolin, who I had the proper coverage for. Then after Drayden jinxed them taking the DNA Splicers, I beat the Shadow Triad member only for him to flee, before Cheren and Nick called and got me to go to Humilau City.

Before going there, I grabbed TM25 for Thunder at Lacunosa Town, because that was a move I surely wanted for the next Gym. I went there through the Marine Tube, where Nick was, and after a bit of checking stuff out I went to Route 22 and beat the trainers there.

Some of them were alright. Once I was done there, I waded through the Gym and its lilypad maze, fighting some trainers, then I came to the Gym Leader. How’d that go?

He began with Wailord, and I started with Stocking. He opened with Rain Dance and I used Thunder, but sadly it did less than half. He used Scald for over half while I used Return. But he killed me with the next blow. I went into Nutcracker and survived his Scald with 1 HP before killing him with Rock Slide.
Carracosta came next, and I used Superpower, which did less than half before he killed me with Rock Slide and the rain stopped. I had Ginger finish that thing off with Giga Drain.
Afterwards came Mantine. I switched out for Ornamental, and he unfortunately used Confuse Ray, which I was hoping he wouldn’t. So I went over to Crabcake, and took an Air Slash for almost half before he killed me with Scald. I went to Ornamental again and used Thunder, but missed and he used Confuse Ray again. I hit myself first turn and after an Air Slash was left with below half health, but I thankfully hit next turn and slammed him.
Jellicent was last, and despite knowing full well he was about to finish me with Shadow Ball unless I were to score the paralysis, I went for the attack. I hit through confusion…and hit with Thunder and scored a critical hit, winning me the fight. I had the Magnet backing, should that mean anything.

With that I got the Wave Badge and TM55 for Scald. After I left the Gym and met with Nick and Marlon, I went to Route 22 and meeting with Colress, where I got the Colress Machine. Then Crabcake took on Terrakion and bested it.

Afterwards comes my least favorite part of the game: going through Seaside Cave and the second visit to the Plasma Frigate. The first part was easy enough, but then we get to the Plasma Frigate with its annoying teleporters. I never liked having to wade through it to get all of them.

And running into these darn grunts everywhere didn’t help. Not that they were hard, but I was trying to get through this quickly. But after a bit of searching I did deactivate all the barriers and make my way to the hatch where Zinzolin was, and Nick joined me. I got through them without too many issues, though.

After we were booted off the Plasma Frigate by the Shadow Triad, we were told to go to the Giant Chasm. But i’ll do that next time.

Before tuning out for the time being, I gave Fireside the Magmarizer that I obtained in the frigate, and traded him with my other White 2 version to get him to evolve into Magmortar. That was where I called it a night.

Whoa, I just realized that I haven't posted an update since Winona...

as far as I can recall...
- Beat up Team Aqua and Magma whilst training vulpix
- Vulpix learns Flamethrower, then evolves
- Trained a bit before battling Tate & Liza, taking a trip to Pacifidlog while I was at it
- Captured a Phanpy
- Barely defeated Tate & Liza, but many thanks to Golduck, earning myself the 7th badge
- defeated team magma for good
- Lairon Evolves
- Manectric, with Girafarig's support (vs Whiscash), easily defeats Juan's pokemon
- Trained a lot in victory road, even after beating each and every trainer
- Phanpy evolves
- Donphan learns Rapid Spin
- used 4 rare candies on Aggron, 1 on Manectric
- i can't remember the details for the Elite four, but i did beat em quite smoothly with my team (below this post are screenies)

edit: aww, PC only allows 5 max attachments? Well, anyway, you can find the other two members' stats here

++ Beat Red, And OH BOY. Pikachu went down easy- we led with Sevivon and laid Spikes, switched to Ata and OHKO'd with earthquake.
Charizard followed, and we switched to Mary and managed to take it out with three waterfalls.
Espeon was up next, and that was more tricky, took luck in Ata's solid physical... but only after putting it to sleep with Lina's hypnosis and seeding it.
Blastoise next, and it was basically Nadim just blasting it with Surf and Ice Beam, a bit of a scrape- but it had surf and blizzard, which'd take out Ata, Lina, Dian and Sevivon in OHKO's, most likely, and Mary has less HP and is a physical attacker, not a special, so against a defencer? No way.
Snorlax was seed-sleep strategy... then switch to Sevivon and just headbutt it a bunch, due to Sevivon having good Defences
Finshing with Venusaur, which a good solid flamewheel or two from Dian took care of.

Alright! Let’s wrap this up! WARNING VERY LONG POST

Update #6 - Final Update

Spoiler:
After being ejected from the Plasma Frigate the second time, we were suggested to head to the Giant Chasm. I did so, and explored the place while getting TM13 for Ice Beam and creating a shortcut back.

Once I was back on the Plasma Frigate, I wasted as little time as possible in the helm, and as soon as I got the Plasma Card, I went over to the password entry and guessed it, where 9909 was the answer. Then I took on Zinzolin one last time, his last Cryogonal was a jerk with Confuse Ray but other than that he was easy again.

Afterward, we came to Colress, who wanted to see if I had the answer on what he was looking for. Did I?

He began with Magneton, and I started with Ginger. I fired off a Leech Seed before he paralyzed me with Thunder Wave. By the time he KO’ed Ginger, he had a bit less than half his health, so he was an easy kill for Fireside’s Flamethrower.
Magnezone came next, and lived my Flamethrower with 1 HP thanks to Sturdy, then paralyzed me with Thunder Wave but I had a Cheri Berry ready for that. He wasted his Full Restore as I 2HKO’ed him.
Metang came next, and I switched to Ornamental as he used Agility. Surf did more than half as he used it again, and his Rock Slide barely did anything before I killed him.
Klinklang was next up, and I used Surf for less than half but I popped his Air Balloon as he used Shift Gear. I went into Nutcracker, and he used Giga Impact for a pittance, then as he recharged I busted him with Superpower.
Beheeyem was last, and I switched in Crabcake for that. He used Calm Mind, then next turn I used Shell Smash and he used Calm Mind again. But I slammed him with X-Scissor for the win.

After I was done with him, we had the Shadow Triad, who gave Nick his sister's Purrloin, which had evolved now. As for the battles, they weren't even worth mention. We reached the depths of the Giant Chasm, where Ghetsis was and Kyurem was about to freeze me with Glaciate but N swooped in on Zekrom with Fusion Bolt, but then they were fused to create Black Kyurem, which I had to fight! It used Freeze Shock and left Fireside with near 1/4 my HP and paralyzed me…

But I scored a critical hit before it could beat that. Ouch.

Then it was time for Ghetsis!

Cohagrigus came first. I used Lava Plume in the hopes of burning him, and it did over half, but he got in Toxic and poisoned me. And he decided to be a jerk and use Protect. I beat him with my next Flamethrower, though.
Seismitoad came afterward, and I tried for Lava Plume again but it didn’t do much and he used Muddy Water. Ginger slammed him with Giga Drain, though.
Eelektross was afterward. I went for Leech Seed, and he used Acrobatics, but I lived with 7 HP!!! Then I used Giga Drain for a small hit before he finished me with Flamethrower. I went for Stocking, and used Return to knock him low. He used Acrobatics, and took Rocky Helmet damage, and then proceeded to succumb to Leech Seed.
Toxicroak came after that. He used Sucker Punch (why?) as I missed with Thunder, then he killed me with Brick Break. Ornamental came out and slammed him with Psychic.
Drapion was next in line, and took JUST over half from Surf while he hit hard with Night Slash, but I managed to beat that to the punch.
Hydreigon was last, and he took little from Surf before beating me with Rock Slide. I went to Crabcake, and he missed with Dragon Rush, allowing me to use Shell Smash and slam him with X-Scissor, winning me the fight.

After that, Ghetsis raged against N’s protests but the Shadow Triad took him away, and N told me to go to the Pokémon League before Nick showed up a little late. After I checked out the ruins of the Crater Forest and got TM03 for Psyshock, I made my way to Route 23.

There were a few obnoxious trainers there. I didn’t go to the Cut area right away, because I couldn’t be bothered to teach Cut to any of my main members. Then we went into Victory Road! I got HM05 for Waterfall from N, which I didn’t end up using, and checked out the entrance before entering the cave.

Hooooooooo boy. The trainers here were just as brutal as ever, and it didn’t help that playing Black 2 had me going through a cave that left me in a different haze than it would have if I were playing White 2 (which i’m much more used to). This Doctor for example, his Clefable went up to +6 Evasion and things with him went on over five minutes.

Yeah, as you can see this was a pretty crazy time. Ornamental was the most on the receiving end of opposing stupidness.

After an hour and a half in total of grueling fights, we made it to the very end, where Nick, our rival, caught up to us. Unfezant was first and I began with Stocking. He unfortunately U-turned into Simisage, and he got burned by Fireside's Flame Body after using Brick Break, allowing me to take care of that.

Bouffalant took over half from Flamethrower and got burned by Flame Body again, and Crabcake took care of that. His Samurott beat both Crabcake and Stocking, the latter at least landed a good hit with Thunder, but Ginger took care of that afterward. Last was Unfezant again, and I got in Leech Seed before he decided to show off his swagger because he thinks he's Mick Jagger, and proceed to beat Ginger. But Ornamental finished him off with Ice Beam.

With that done, he gave me TM24 for Thunderbolt, which is awesome. While that entire excursion wasn’t as infuriating as when I went through Victory Road in X for my Haunter and the Carnival of Horrors challenge back in October, it was more drawn out and tiring, definitely. That said, I arrived at the Pokémon League!

After that, I came back to Route 23, gave Cut to Nutcracker and went to that area. Going through the last of the trainers here, I eventually made my way to TM12 for Taunt. Once I was finished there, I went back to the PWT and removed all my HMs from my team, used a few Heart Scales, then went back to Driftveil City and used 10 Red Shards to teach Ice Punch to Nutcracker. After a few more preparations, I got some Blue Shards to teach one last move - giving Icy Wind to Stocking. Then it was time to take on the league!

I decided to go for Grimsley first. First time his Scrafty haxed me beyond every sort of belief, so I reset. Did the second time go any better?

He began with Liepard as I opened with Stocking. He used Fake Out, which got the Normal Gem, but still hit light and I got the Rocky Helmet on him. He used Night Slash, which I lived easily, and Rocky Helmet plus Return knocked him to healing range. After he healed, Return did more than half. But then he scored a critical hit, beating me. I went to Nutcracker, eating up his Night Slash before finishing him with Ice Punch.
Krookodile was next, and I went over to Ornamental on his Earthquake, which did 2/3 my health. I used Scald, which came JUST short of slamming him, BUT it burned him, and he beat me with Crunch but then he fell to burn.
I went to Ginger as he sent out Scrafty. I used Leech Seed, as he used Rock Tomb, which did little. Then I used Charm as he went for Poison Jab, which poisoned me. I used Giga Drain and knocked him decently near half as he missed with Rock Tomb. Same thing next turn, except he hit, and I was slower than him so he got in Poison Jab for an okay hit. After I beat him, I had just over half my health left.
He used Absol next, and I hit with Stun Spore before he slammed me with X-Scissor. I went for Crabcake and slammed him with my own X-Scissor.
Bisharp was last, and I switched Fireside into his Metal Claw, which actually hit for a bit more than I expected, but it triggered Flame Body, and then I roasted him with Flamethrower, which scored a critical hit that I HIGHLY doubt I needed. That won me the fight.

That went much smoother than it did first time. Afterwards, I decided Caitlin would be next up, since I had a Bug-type, and a Fire-type for her ace, so I wasn't too concerned. Did it go as smoothly as I thought it would?

Long story short, no. She began with Musharna while I opened with Stocking. I went for Light Screen, and she unfortunately hit with Hypnosis. I stayed asleep two turns in a row, as she did 1/4 with Dream Eater then used Reflect. But she hit with Dream Eater again, then I woke up and did pretty bad damage with Shadow Ball, but I did lower her Special Defense before my Light Screen wore off. I hit with Shadow Ball and lowered her Special Defense again, and she missed with Hypnosis. I used Thunder Wave and paralyzed her, completely forgetting about Synchronize (if this keeps me from being put to sleep, sure) before her Reflect wore off. But I ended up fully paralyzed as she got a boost with Charge Beam. I got in an Icy Wind before she used Charge Beam once more, and I got fully paralyzed but she missed with Charge Beam. I managed to hit next turn and knock her out with Shadow Ball.
Reuniclus was next, and wasted no time in beating me with Energy Ball (scoring a useless critical hit, too). I went for Crabcake, and hit hard with X-Scissor while she did 3/4 my health with Psychic. Her Leftovers kept her out of healing range, allowing me to slam her with another X-Scissor.
Metagross was next and immediately used Bullet Punch to knock me out (which is why I didn’t use Shell Smash). I went to Fireside and scorched her with Flamethrower.
Gothitelle came afterward, and I used Will-o-Wisp, which missed, before she used Calm Mind. My Flamethrower did less than half before she used it again. Same thing next turn, then she lived my next hit and beat me to the punch with Psychic. I went for Nutcracker, and she unfortunately healed, while my Iron Head did less than half. I lived her Thunderbolt with 1 HP thanks to Sturdy, then she killed me. Ginger came short of killing her and she OHKO’ed that with Psychic too. Ornamental finished her with Scald.
Sigilyph was last, and I used Light Screen, which left her Shadow Ball to do a tad over 1/3. My Scald did less than half, but thankfully it got the burn, and I had over 1/4 after another Shadow Ball. I used Recover to be safe, and thankfully survived another hit, winning me the fight.

Goodness, I really did not play that very well when it came to that Gothitelle, did I? After that it was time for Shauntal, since I felt I had enough to adequately handle her various team members. How did it go?

As she began the fight with Cohagrigus, I opened with Stocking. I opened with Shadow Ball and got the Special Defense drop as she used Will-o-Wisp, predictably. I used Light Screen, but she used Psychic and scored a critical hit on the very first hit. I used Rest, but she used Grass Knot and got a second critical hit in a row (what’s your problem?!). As I slept, she used Psychic for a pittance then a miss with Grass Knot (since I had the Lax Incense). After waking up, I went for Shadow Ball to do a bit less than half before she used another Grass Knot and my Light Screen wore off. After another Shadow Ball, and a Psychic from her, I thought she would heal, but she didn’t, so I used Light Screen and avoided another Psychic. That allowed me to finish her with another Shadow Ball.
Golurk was next, and unfortunately she used Brick Break, which caused my Light Screen to wear off, and finished me. I went for Ginger, and my Giga Drain did around 2/3 while her Shadow Punch did just over half, but I finished that with another hit.
Chandelure was next, and I tried to go for Stun Spore, but unfortunately I ended up missing and she hit with Fire Blast, scorching me. I went for Nutcracker, and she missed with Fire Blast, allowing me to OHKO her with an Expert Belt boosted Rock Slide. Then I tried to learn Heavy Slam, but passed because I doubt i’ll be using Nutcracker against Marshal, and most of Iris’ team members are pretty heavy and won’t take too much from it.
Drifblim was next, and did a tad bit over half with Thunderbolt, but I OHKO’ed her with Rock Slide, with a critical hit that I don’t think I needed.
For Banette, I went to Fireside, eating a Psychic for 1/4 before OHKO’ing her with Flamethrower for the win.

Marshal was last up. I had to plan my team accordingly, as a good chunk of what I have wasn’t very suited for him! But did I expect more than I was dealt?

Sort of. Throh was first up and I began with Ginger. I started with Leech Seed as he used Bulldoze and cut my Speed. Then I used Charm as he went for a fair hit with Payback, but I was healed right near full. He missed with Rock Tomb after my Giga Drain did a small chunk, then I cut his Attack with Charm because I forgot to heal up my Giga Drain PP beforehand. However, he had Storm Throw, which was a big screw you to my Charms. Not wanting to risk anything, I switched out for Fireside and took a Storm Throw for one point under half. Then I beat him with Flamethrower.
Conkeldurr was next up, and while my Psychic hit for around 70% and lowered his Special Defense, he slammed me with Hammer Arm. Then he was burned by Flame Orb, and I went in with Stocking to see if I could do this in style. I was faster thanks to his Speed drop, and hit with Psychic, killing him.
Mienshao was next, and missed with Hi Jump Kick, taking crash damage before I lowered his Speed with Icy Wind. He hit next turn and killed me, though. I went to Ginger and beat him to the stick with Giga Drain.
Then he had Lucario. I went over to Crabcake for that, and as he used Calm Mind, and he used it again as I went for Shell Smash. Then a +2 Dig OHKO’ed him.
Sawk was last up, and I used Rock Slide, which did 1/3 and flinched him. Then a critical hit X-Scissor finished him off and won me the fight.

Well that turned out easier than I thought it would, there was a bit of luck involved but at least now I can say I was stylish enough to use an Audino against Marshal!

Finally, all we had remaining was the Champion, Iris! I had Starmie on me, but without any healing and having to take a hit to switch in, I needed to save it for when I was completely positive beyond any shadow of a doubt that I would absolutely need it.

Hydreigon was first, and I opened with Stocking despite knowing full well she had Focus Blast. …WHICH I LIVED WITH 10 HP!!!!!! That allowed me to paralyze her with Thunder Wave. Then my Ice Beam did around 1/3 before she KO'ed me with Dragon Pulse. Then I brought in Nutcracker and slammed her with Superpower.
Druddigon was afterwards, and I switched out for Fireside as she used Focus Blast, which did one point below half my health. I managed to hit with Will-o-Wisp, and she used Outrage and killed me but took almost 1/4 her health between Life Orb and burn. I went for Crabcake, and used Rock Slide, and scored the flinch before she became confused to fatigue. Then I went for X-Scissor and beat that.
Aggron came afterward, and she used Head Smash, which left me with 1 HP thanks to Sturdy, and my Dig dig just over half. She then killed me with another Head Smash. I decided to bring in my mirror-match, and lived her Earthquake with 10 HP before slamming her with Superpower, with a critical hit that I did not need (ugh).
Haxorus was next, and straight killed me with X-Scissor. I went for Charm as she used Dragon Dance, then I hit with Stun Spore as she used Outrage for less than 2/3 my health. I used Giga Drain, which scored a critical hit for less than half her health…and she was fully paralyzed! Then I switched to Ornamental, and she hurt herself in confusion, allowing me to finish her with Ice Beam.
Lapras was next, and I switched out for Ginger into her Sing, which hit. And then she hit with Blizzard, killing me. Now I had just Ornamental left, and despite having the Expert Belt, my Thunderbolt did less than half, but she missed with Sing. I couldn’t use it again, otherwise she’d heal. I went for Rapid Spin, which did a small amount, and she missed again. Then I used Thunderbolt, which she lived with 1 HP and hit with Sing after. Then she used her Full Restore, which didn’t help. Here I was slapping myself in the head, completely forgetting I had Natural Cure and could have let Ornamental be put to sleep before going to Ginger. Thankfully she missed with Thunder the following turn. Then after I woke up, I hit with Thunderbolt while she hit with Thunder, leaving me with 1/5 my health (why couldn’t it have done one point less so it didn’t interrupt the Champion music?). Then I used Thunderbolt, and she missed with Blizzard (!!!!!!!!!!). Then I hit with Thunderbolt and finally beat her.
Archeops was last, and I OHKO’ed her with Scald, winning me the fight and completing the challenge! And Ornamental grew a level, allowing me to hear the Champion theme again for the last few seconds.

OH MY GOODNESS did that come down to the wire. There were so many points I got lucky in that fight and I still won by the skin of my teeth. With that, I was inducted into the Hall of Fame!

My challenge is complete! Diantha was HARD! Holy crap! Well not so much Diantha as Mega Gardevoir. I was juggling mons forever until she finally ran out of Moonblast. Once that was out of the picture she was easy pickings for my new Maccabee: Tyranitar! It wasn't Mega because I had already tried to use Drakonesh. Anyway, this was a lot of fun and I am glad I made it to the end! Hope everyone else enjoyed it too. Here's a ton of pictures I took:

Pokemon Festival of Lights Challenge Thing Final Update

It's been awhile since I updated! O__O

As I expected, I knocked out the majority of the challenge while I was out of town. It was pretty easy to pick up Black when I was stuck in car rides or between events.

I got the other 5 badges and the rest of my team while I was gone. Just had Victory Road and the Elite 4 to do... I went ahead, grinded my team, and faced them tonight. I won, obviously, with my slaughtering of too many Audino SUPERIOR TRAINER SKILLS. Here's my proof.

Confession time: I've never actually done the post-game Elite 4 and defeated Alder. I might have to try it with this team for funsies. Maybe.

TEAM RUNDOWN

Spoiler:
By Light Of Fire:
Chandelure. One of my favorite Pokemon. Great for sweeping 2/4 of the Elite 4.

Mort, lv 52
Shadow Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Flame Burst, Toxic

Spin the Dreidal:
Excadrill. Keeping Rapid Spin was a real challenge... so many good options for a 4th move. :p I did use it sometimes!

Simon, lv 52
Swords Dance, Rapid Spin, Earthquake, Rock Slide

Maccabee:
Meinshao. Never used one before. Victory Road was a bit of pain because it evolves so late... couldn't take a hit to save its life. Defense still wasn't too great, but it got better (and hits hard enough to fill its role). Swept the other 2/4 of the Elite 4.

Billyjobob, lv 52
U-turn, Drain Punch, Acrobatics, Jump Kick

Coming Together:
Alomomola. Didn't want to use Audino, and I wanted a water Pokemon... sadly, Waterfall is after the E4. So I ended up swapping Surf for Return to hit just a tiny bit harder when need be (for grinding because lol this is a support Pokemon).

I used it to beat up Ghestis' Hydregion for muks and giggles.

Undisc, lv 51
Wish, Safeguard, Light Screen, Return

That Non-Jewish Friend:
Sawsbuck. Of course! It's even in its lovely winter form. :3 Didn't do too much against the Elite Four, but it got some action against Ghetsis, as seen above.

Not Ruldolf, lv 51
Jump Kick, Leech Seed, Return, Horn Leech

Feast of Dedication:
Vanilluxe. It was the only answer for me. Ice cream Pokemon, go! I don't even care it's winter, ice cream is always an appropriate dessert!!

Elsa, lv 50
Uproar, Ice Beam, Acid Armor, Mirror Shot

I'll make a proper signature when Pokecommunity gets a proper slogan
