I've been trying to get into pokemon a bit more competitively, so I went on showdown after a bit a research and threw this team together, and played with it for a bit.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Roost

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 220 SpA / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Roar
- Toxic

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 SpA
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

I had planned to use a Greninja in there, but with the suspect testing going on I wouldn't have been able to use it. The big issue I've noted and remember is that I have a big weakness to water and only one with a move to counter it, I also want to put in something fighting type in there. I know those issues are there, but I'm not totally what would be the best way of going about fixing them. Thanks in advance for the help.

What you could do is switch Heatran out with Lanturn and then Talon flame with Noivern. The only problem with this is you would have to switch Rotom Wash for something else (I have no idea what), maybe something with a rock resistance. Anyway here are the movesets I would use for Noivern and Lanturn I would use.

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Scald
- Heal Bell/Roar
- Thunder Wave/Toxic

Noivern @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
You could substitute Roost for either Flamethrower or U-turn if you wanted.

Hope This helps!
Whatever

Doesn't exactly help here.

What does Lanturn accomplish over Heatran? What does Noivern accomplish over Talonflame? Talonflame is in here to provide revenge killing utility.

I don't think Noivern is suitable for this team because it's not that strong. If you want other Water resists on the team, try out Dragalge (while it has Noivern's Special Attack, it has Adaptability to compensate for its lack of power). Heatran should stay because it provides crucial (backup) Dragon and Fairy resistances; Excadrill shouldn't be relied on to deal with them.

Anyway, here's the Dragalge set if you're interested:
-Sludge Wave
-Draco Meteor
-Scald/Hidden Power (Fire)
-Focus Blast/Hidden Power (Fire)
Nature: Modest
EVs: 200 HP/252 SAtk/56 Spe
Item: Choice Specs/Dragon Fang/Poison Barb/Toxic Plate/Draco Plate
Ability: Adaptability

Agreed with Platinumdude, Lanturn has no business on this team except for giving an extra ground weakness. Stay with Rotom-W.
Also Talonflame has priority Flying-type moves who make him a better revenge killing than Noivern. Noivern strongest flying stab is hurricane with only 70% acuracy outside rain. Draco Metero hits hard to anything that doesn't resist it, true that. But do you want 2 pokémon with a 4x Ice weakness on your team?

If I were you I would replace Excadrill with Clefable.
Talonflame does an excellent job at revenge killing and Mega-Metagross is fast once mega evolved who has the same coverage moves as excadrill.
Clefable @ Leftovers
252 HP / 152 DEF / 104 SPD
Bold
Unaware
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell / Thunder Wave

Healing support is always nice to keep M-Metagross healthy and it can slow faster treads with T-wave.
You will lose a spinner but I don't think it's a good idea to have a 4x weakness to water, 3x weakness to ground and 2x weakness to fighting either.
You will have 3 pokémons with 4x weakness, be carefull with sending them in against pokemon with a wide move pool.
