Do you prefer battling with 3D polygonal models like in Colosseum, Stadium, XY, and ORAS or do you prefer the sprites of the older handheld Pokemon games?

The sprites will always be nostalgic for me, but I had so much more fun as a kid to transfer my Sapphire team and watch them battle in Colosseum in full 3D.

I prefer the polygonal style. It allows for a larger range of character expression (human and pokemon) and gives the games a sense of depth.

I enjoyed the sprite style, but after so many years it was extremely dated.

On handhelds, I still prefer the pixel sprites. On consoles though, I love the 3D models. I'll always love Pokémon Battle Revolution, if only for the epic polygons.

The 3D models are amazing, but I actually like the sprites on the older games better. I guess for nostalgia, and because the sprites would change over the course of the different games. The 3D models tend to stay similar imo. Like between XY and ORAS. Idk, both are fine with me though haha.

I would have to say models on this one.

Unlike sprites, models tend to give us much, much better ideas as to how a Pokémon actually is. In former, we got to see only a glimpse, so to speak, but in latter, things are expanded more. There are many Pokémon I had previously disliked primarily due to how they had looked (one example would be Stunfisk, which had seemed rather unnatural in my eyes), but models, thankfully, helped change my views on them.

Sprites, I do like, but mostly because of nostalgic, just like almost everyone else that had posted thus far. Although I do prefer models, I would still like them to keep using sprites alongside, one way or another (perhaps in Pokémon's dex entry page?). Hope I'm making a bit of sense here, haha.

I really enjoy the 3D models. It makes the Pokemon and humans seem a lot more realistic and I think it's much more interesting to battle with them being 3D. Quite a few Pokemon look different in 3D than as a sprite, in a good way. It has a positive impact on their design, which they can play around with more, I believe. I do like the sprites, quite a lot, it's just I'm a huge fan of the new 3D models.

I really liked the sprites in BW2, but I like the 3dD models a little bit more. They give the battle system a little bit more depth, in my opinion. Before gen 6 the battles felt a little bit static, even with animated sprited you couldn't really get a good feeling for the surrounding area, unlike in the newer games, where you're even able to see the Pokemon in different angles.

I've grown to like the models after Gen 6 (hated them at the start) but I prefer sprites due to having at least 3 years of spriting. I've never found the sprites outdated either and I find them a bit more charming than models. Though I do like the models from Pokedex 3D Pro.
