I'm trying to get an idea what everyone's trying to talk about but I'll tag along, stalk, and wait. Then, I suddenly had a weird thought - What if i really did take up game design years ago and actually graduated from it ASAP? Would I have become the next John Romero, John Woo, John Carmack, and John Rambo of the video game industry?

Usually, yeah. What with the deal-centric nature of games today though I've found that having too much can be more of a demotivator as the money you spent for them is a motivator.

Big investments like TVs, Consoles, PC parts yadda yadda still work.

With anime, tho. Watch good muk and it'll make you wanna watch other good muk. That's just how it works. Unless you're like Vogue and eat anime like individual bites of cereal.

I don't buy as many games on offer as I used to...I tend to take the stance that if I have to think about it, I obviously don't want it as much as I think I do. My impulse purchases are still pretty awful at times, but I don't buy anywhere near as much as I could.

When you don't know what will appeal to you it can really put you off anime in general sometimes...I don't have a specific taste in shows. Even if something looks good to me, it might not be all that good in reality. I mean, I thought Akagami no Shirayukihime looked good, and it was utter muk; I've not been that bored by a show since I watched Mahouka =/

Pokestick, good times.

That shantae game that's on the 3DS was a fun adventure. Jolly metroidvanianing and melodic gainaxing. Def worth paying whatever you want for over at Humble.

Didn't you watch Another, tho?

For me, it's elements and aesthetics. You give me video, I'll pretty easily be able to tell if I like it. A detailed feature-list can be fine sometimes, too, but these days I can pretty easily tell if I'm going to like something to some degree by seeing it in action. Mostly thanks to the indie revolution- which reminds me, started The Magic Circle yesterday. Really clever game right there, reminds me a lot of that one DS game where you could reshape the world, enemies, and weapons with a book- the name escapes me, though.

But yeah, waiting to play Pirate's Curse until I can get Risky's Revenge on DS and beat the original, since it has a consistent story. Fun series, right there.

Risky's Revenge is on there, as well. The steam version.
Picking it up, guess I'll play this series in reverse.

Another was fine...at least until the pacing was demolished during the last two episodes. Trying to guess which character was going to die and how made up for the lack of any real excitement up to that point, at least for me. But then, I'm a sadist who likes watching characters die in grisly and/or ironic fashion.

I have to be in the mood for things, which is why it's so hard to guess. I like a good plot, but there are times when I just want to watch people beat the hell out of one another because whatever. I think right now I'm in the mood for a good fantasy show, preferably something complete and at least 26 episodes, but nothing is leaping out at me =/

Avalon Code is the game you're thinking of, by the way. At least, I'm pretty sure it is.

I do have Risky's Revenge on PC, but I can't much vouch for it having benefited from the...change in graphical fidelity. I'd have played it years ago if the DSi copy wasn't so goddamned expensive.

The mains mostly played a part in me not liking another. They weren't as bad as Yuki/Yuno, but I mostly found them and the setting boring- mainly why I don't actively muk on the show. I don't think it's bad, certainly, but grizzly deaths usually aren't my thing if they're gruesome just for the sake of it. Then again, I liked BTOOOM!'s duo and the show overall, so who'm I to talk?

But yeah, kinda same. This season's been pretty good, so my anime watching's been more consistent than usual, but I usually have to be in the mood for anime to watch it, so it doesn't happen often.

Recent and short, but Junketsu no Maria (or Maria the Virgin Witch) is a pretty solid Historical Fantasy Coming of Age show, if you want a nice little romp. Extra points if you have as much fun with Japan trying to Christianity as I do (though this show was eerily on point, it knew its stuff).

-And yeah, it was Avalon Code. It's kinda like that, though there narrative on this is pretty fun. Recommend you guys check it out if you can, especially if you love game dev muk.

I knew i wouldn't. John Romero's too legendary to be anyone's equal anyway. He's too much of a god among men.

Eh, some things click, some things don't. I mean, Nobunaga the Fool had all the makings of a show I'd enjoy, but I absolutely despised it. Captain Earth never really clicked with me either...mostly because it never went anywhere. But I loved Star Driver to pieces. No accounting for taste, even within oneself, aha.

That got a dub recently, I think...I'll look into it when the mood strikes me. Should really finish the Tales of Symphonia anime off tonight, I've been procrastinating with it. Even though it's not too bad. I just miss the dub voice cast...and Mithos' awesome organ theme.
