Have any of you ever read Uziga Waita's stuff?

Also yeah. Please don't search that Orph. For everyone else, it's fair game.

I wouldn't call it a meme, exactly. Disembowelment H has been around for a long time.

Not really into it, myself, but it exists and I see it every now and again.

Pokestick, good times.

I see that the FF franchise is on sale on Steam.

Macho, you feel like you keep track. Any good-looking, fun ones on Steam for someone who has only experienced Bravely Default?
I'm... actually considering XIII. I don't really have a problem with linear games.

In terms of Final Fantasy? Well, as someone who's played Bravely Default, you might want to take a look at Final Fantasy III, which was the first major instance of the Job system. While I've played little of the game, I have played the original Final Fantasy V (where the job system was very fun), and considering that this is a 3D remake for the DS (and then sharpened up for the iOS and sharpened up again for the PC), it likely uses refinements from years of experimentation, so it's worth a look.

Final Fantasy IV's also a great pick, with one of the more recognizable stories in the franchise. I like it in that sense, but...the gameplay is really standard as far as Turn-Based RPGs go. It's not boring, per se, but it can be a grind. So it's a give and take, and you really have to decide if you're okay with that. All this said, the ideal version of the game is the PSP Complete Collection version. I played this one back on DS, though, so what I said still stands.

After Years...just don't.

VII is one of the more unique entries in the series with the introduction of the Materia system. Though its graphics may be simple, the game is far from outdated and even today I would recommend it if you're looking for a solid FF title. People knock on it because it's an overrated game, but its being overrated doesn't mean it's not great. Great music (though this goes with out saying), compelling story, fun battle system and magic system, and a lot to do. I'd definitely recommend this one, though an emulator or the Playstation Store version may be more up your alley, and since you have a PS3, I'd recommend starting there.

VIII is...um...well, apparently it's considered the bad one. I haven't played this game since I was very young, and I had fun with it back then. Buuut seeing it again makes me realize how much of a mixed bag it is. The story isn't particularly great and the characters aren't exactly the most compelling- but to that end, it's a game that has fun with itself and should be taken for that much. The battle system is unique, but it's considered marred by the Draw system, which...well, it's been years, so I can't vouch for. I'd say I didn't have the problem as a child but, well, it's probably because I wasn't exactly doing well in the game.

Then we come to XIII. *sigh*...look...this is a badly written game. Very badly written. I didn't mind the writing when I first played it but after watching Spoony's review of it, I realized some things.

So would I recommend it? Yes, absolutely I would. Despite having a new creative design team and a new composer (leaving behind legends Uematsu (composer) and Sakaguchi (director)) this game has one of the most beautiful soundtracks in the series, largely thanks to its orchestration. Blinded by Light and Sabre's Edge are absolutely fantastic battle themes that I'd say sit among the best, and the battle system, divisive as it is, has received high praise from those that enjoy it. It's something different, something new. The characters are really what you make of them (I've always personally been a Sazh fan and Vanille is...uuuuugh), and the story, while not well written, really does well to help you empathize with the characters on this almost hopeless journey. The job system is pretty much like nothing you'll ever see and it's where most of the fun comes from, and- Yes, I recommend it. I got it for $20 a year after launch and didn't regret it, so I definitely say $6 is a good price. You can really judge whether XIII-2's worth it after the fact.

So mainly, I recommend XIII and possibly III. VII you should get on the PS3 (though there are mods, patches, and the like that do make this the most customizable version, so it's really up to you), VIII is the same (though, this game's a gamble, it has fun with itself and might be worth it. Consider the other's above it, though), IV is, again, pretty standard but has a good story. I'd recommend the CC for that but the DS/iOS/PC version is unique in that it's a 3D from-the-ground-up experience, same for III, though that doesn't have a CC and really you should just consider based what I've said above.

I hope that helps. That said, I will say this: when Lightning Returns comes out, buy it, it's fantastic.

That ain't kawaii at all. She is a certain type of princess. Like Vegeta was in that one episode of Dragon Ball Z.

Spoiler:

Heard the PC port optimization for XIII isn't great (well, TB said so), so who knows how my computer will fare, but I might just get that, then. I'm a sucker for nice visuals and a good soundtrack, after all.

III looks simple-ish yet fun, we'll see. And XII's remake will make it to PC one day; I can wait.

I believe that makes Fallout about 83.2% better. Now if NPCs are also kawaii cat girl princesses... you win.

I think you're giving the consistency in this thread too much credit.

Hell, we reach into other versions of DLTMS0 to continue conversations from then every so often. And by "every so often", I mean right now.

Red vest? Blue Pants? Uh, I think I know my Naruto, and you have him mixed up with Son Goku from Fairy Tail.
Oh machomuu, your 2014 humor is both hilarious and memorable. I'm sure we'll never forget that genius humor. I'm dying laughing. dying.

The download is something like 59 GB, then you have to extract it to 60 GB.

So in order to install and extract the game, you need to have 119 GB available.
