If you plan to use Omega Ruby for competitive battling or something, then you would be best transferring competitive Pokémon to that game, at least. But if you have Pokémon Bank that would make things considerably less complicated. If you're not a competitive battler than it might not be as big a deal.

I keep my pokemon currently in pokemon Y. but I am planning on buying Pokemon bank and transferring my Y pokemon to ORAS. I have loads of good pokemon I could battle competitively with.

OR/AS, it accepts all new moves, mega evolutions and is a nice place to get about (lets not forget not needing fly on a pokemon!)

X/Y just seems a bit meh after I completed the game and I prefer to breed etc in OR.

With Pokemon bank its easy as anything to transfer all your mons, I have powersaves also so have backud up my complete pokedex to the bank and keep it on my cartridge too as well as copies of all my main team.
