Hey guys! I just recently got into VGC and like it a lot. I will be participating in the upcoming online competition and would like some team help. Anyway here's the team:

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Iron Head
- Protect

The big man himself. My fairy killer and powerhouse. I opted for ice punch over protect since I feel that my team needs an ice move

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 44 HP / 36 Def / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse

Metagross's partner in crime. They cover each other's weaknesses well. Hydreigon is ev'd to survive certain hits (jolly garchomp dragon claw) while still being able to outspeed non-scarfers

Sylveon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
Level: 50
EVs: 188 HP / 68 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Hyper Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Shadow Ball

Very standard set. I like Sylveon, but more for the fear that it gives my opponent. I normally don't bring it and force my opponents to bring their counters. It just seems like everyone's prepared for it, so it's hard to get a good game in with it

Heatran @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Earth Power
- Substitute
- Protect

Heatran is just a ridiculous pokemon. It counters things like Talonflame and Sylveon, and I usually get a free substitute. I'm deciding between life orb and leftovers, but I think I'll be keeping life orb for the offensive pressure

Rotom-Wash @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 60 SpA / 148 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

My Landorus check and will-o-wisper. It's ev'd to survive a solarbeam from Charizard-Y, s that's neat. He's a keeper and does his job very well

Breloom @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Protect
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed

The most annoying pokemon in the game. If my team has a problem, I can just spore it and ignore it. I've been thinking of replacing him for Terrakion or a fake out user, but Breloom's utility is keeping him on the team for now

Known threats:

Charizard-Y
With no rock moves, this guy gives my team a huge problem. I've been able to play around it so far, but I'd like a solid way to beat it without taking huge risks.

Zapdos
I have yet to play against it, but I theorize that safety goggles Zapdos will tear my team apart. It gets a free tailwind off and has amazing coverage to deal massive damage to my team. Ice punch Metagross does catch it off guard, though

Speed Control (Tailwind, Trick Room, Icy Wind)
Without a taunt user, I have no way to stop these moves. Playing frail pokemon that are also slower than my opponent's pokemon is not something that I like to do

That's all that I can think of right now. Please leave suggestions!

Cune Hound says hello :)

Some quick notes, more detail to come later:

- Substitute would pair better with Leftovers on Heatran, otherwise it just dies to its own Life Orb damage while my Gastrodon suffers through infinite turns of freeze hax.
- Freeing up that Life Orb will let you put it on Hydreigon, which will do many things for you. First, you can safely live through Hyper Voice fury from Sylveon while Meta picks up a kill. Second, you don't have to play the Choice Item Shuffle, which loses so so so so so so many games in Doubles. And third, it gives those special moves the extra punch that they need to take out things like Mega Kang.
- Terrakion learns Taunt, if that's really been a problem for ya lately.
The Prism League is opening for its second season and looking for new members! 6v6 Multiformat battles on cartridge are the name of the game. We implore you to join if you enjoy competitive battling in any format.

-Yeah watching Heatran slowly kill itself was pretty sad. VGC games are shorter though so life orb can be afforded
-I'll try out life orb on Hydreigon. Right now I just like that it can outspeed and kill anything, but it aready is pretty fast and being able to switch up moves could be valuable
-As for taunt and Terrakion, what do you think about dropping Breloom and Sylveon and going with Gengar Terrakion? Gengar solves my speed issues with taunt and icy wind while Terrakion solves my Charizard and Zapdos problem

You could also swap out Metagross for Mega Venusaur, Rotom Wash for Suicune and Hydreigon for Bisharp lol.

Real talk though, Support Gengar, as I've been known to say, is a nasty little devil. It would give you speed control, a second WoW user, a fast Taunt, a third levitating thing, an answer to non-Scrappy Fake Out, and an immunity to Normal and Fighting types (Kang).

You could also put Confuse Ray on either Gengar or Rotom for added value.

Tested Gengar and Terrakion. I like them both a lot more than Breloom and Sylveon. Charizard is no longer a threat and Kangaskan gives me way less trouble
