Hmm, I wonder how electronics (such as my tablet) do out in the heat. I'll be walking around and touring an old city in Florida and it'll be pretty hot today. :P

From my experience, it depends on how much you spend on the tablet, my cheap one has overheated a few times in the sun, but my Ipad has never had a problem :)

Haha yeah I guess so. Temperatures outside are gonna be about 85-90°F (or 30-32°C) where I'll be.

Also, windows updates literally took forever on my laptop this morning. :|

As an IT engineer, I can honestly say windows updates are the bane of my existence, they always happen at the worst possible moment and turn a 10 minute job into an hour + job :(

Heh. Windows updates have never bothered me personally, as they go by rather quickly, assuming the system was up-to-date at that point. Though I am thinking that things might go south rather easily as the amount of PCs rise...

Speaking of Windows Updates, my computer (Windows XP) is RIP. Microsofty literally abandoned Windows XP. But whatever....

Nope, the Windows XP legacy will live on forever. I do not care about upgrades, my dad literally knows how to make games run in my PC that is only for Windows 8/10.

With Windows 10 fixing all the problems people had with Windows 8 plus more, I see very little reason (besides the inability to buy Windows 10) to stay with XP, especially now that Microsoft has ceased support for it.

My only gripe with win 10 is the way they handle updates in bundles now, means you have very little control over what is included/ excluded from your updates, there has been a couple of video/GPU related issues I've had on my custom build because of it.

Windows 10 is a massive upgrade from XP and there is definitely a reason they have stopped supporting it, carrying on with XP at this stage is insecure and could cause you problems going forward whether you can get the programs running on it or not :)

This is our PC, my dad stills wants this PC to be Windows XP ASAP. I heard that this PC is from his dad 10 years ago. Then, years later, my dad's father died. So he wants to keep his PC Windows XP still.

Why aren't you using a WSUS server with that many PCs? Or are you not involved in the WSUS side of things?

There's some issues that 10 still has in terms of stability at times, though.

If the PC is that old, that PC could fail at any time. If nothing else, make sure your data is being regularly backed up to even just an external hard drive.

I said it could fail, not that it is failing. Lasting that long is the exception, not the rule, with PCs. I speak from experience at my job when I've worked with older PCs. I replaced over 150 PCs that were between 6 and 10 years old as part of an upgrade we did 3 years ago. Many of those had something very wrong with them and they needed serious work to repair to a state where they could be donated to charity.

Your family's PC is an exception to the lifespan of PCs.

Alright then, I will try to convince my dad.
The bigger concern is just making sure you have a way to back up your important documents, photos, and other files. You can't replace those easily, but you can probably replace the PC easily.
whoops

Turns out another weather-related event happened: I got soaked in rain! Luckily my phone, iPod Touch, and 3DS (the latter two unprotected) were just fine!

These days, electronic device tend to have good protection for water, not water proof.
Yeah, most mobile devices can handle rain exposure, and the water ingress indicators inside should not trip on exposure to rain. It's immersion that you need to worry about.

To be honest, the rain was coming down so hard that it felt like immersion -_-
