I'm actually surprised this thread doesn't exist already. I'm currently a bit torn between stories. I already have two running on a different website, both of which I wanted to update this month. Plus a short song fic I wanted to submit to some kind of contest with the same deadline. All three of the chapters are half written. Yesterday, after spending a while on this forum, a plot bunny came my way and slapped me in the face with a remastered version of an old idea for a Pokémon story and by now I'm so excited about writing it down that I can barely sit still. I have no idea where I should take the time to write all of these stories, but they just won't go away.

Do you have the same problem? How do you handle it? Can you just push the ideas away?

I'm guilty of the same problem,so what I've been doing is writing out the basic concept, then sharing the concepts for other writers to use.

I'm not one to have a lot of ideas, so I don't get this problem very often, however, I'm kind of struggling with it right now. I'm just working on one main one, as I plan the others out when I'm not working on the first one. It's been working well so far, but my mind is scattered anyway and has to switch between projects every once in a while.

If I get an idea for a different story than the one I'm currently working on, then I either make a note of it in a notebook I have sitting on my desk, or keep a mental note of it. I don't really do much with random bursts of inspiration because I want to develop the ideas first.

Before, when I had a multitude of ideas, I would just bounce around from story to story. I'd work on one until I got bored of it or stuck, then move on to the next story. So there were times I was writing four or more stories at the same time.

Guiltyyyyyy. XD

No, seriously though. This is usually one reason I can't finish anything. I either get new ideas for a current story I'm writing, or ones that I want to write. I can't stick with one thing at a time. I also find it hard to write more than one story too, so it's not easy to have so many ideas. My mind is like a mine field of ideas. They just sort of explode. D:

I used to write all my ideas on a notebook, but since I'm on my laptop often it's faster for me to type it up on Google Docs and Evernote. Many of my ideas I wasn't able to develop much, but there are times I would have a few ideas for the same story and able to string them together.
