In Pokémon Black and White, in the post-game after you had defeated N and Ghetsis, you were able to take the elevator in the Game Freak building upward, and there would be a trainer named Morimoto, who is based off of the Game Freak designer Shigeki Morimoto himself. He doesn't use Pokémon that are very strong all-around, but they're extremely high leveled and all very fast, so they're not to be taken lightly. In the sequels, you can battle him even the first time you go to Castelia City, but he only comes with the elemental monkeys to start, then in the post-game he'll have the stronger team again.

And then in Black 2 and White 2, we also have Nishino, based off of another Game Freak designer in Kōji Nishino. He's fat and likes Snorlax, and uses Pokémon with the Leftovers item. In the post-game, he comes equipped with a team full of Pokémon that are slow, but have very high HP stats.

What did you think of seeing these two characters in-game? Were they difficult for you to battle? Did you find yourself intrigued by their appearance and/or trainer class? Discuss.

I never battled Morimoto back in B/W (or at least I didn't) but I do recall battling him early in B2/W2 and as you said he wasn't hard back then with just the monkeys but the stronger team of his can be a force to be reckoned with. I haven't recalled battling that other guy either as far as I'm aware, but I have to admit I was intrigued by their appearance and everything.

They weren't really tough or anything since anyone can outsmart the AI, except maybe face a few difficulties on Challenge Mode, but otherwise, yeahhh.

I found it quite neat of them to base trainers off themselves. I'd do that myself if I were a developer xD I do want more GameFreak staff NPCs, especially the music composers because their names only appear in the credit roll and they should get more recognition for their breathtaking compositions. (Unova is ranked highly in terms of music for me.)

I used to battle them almost daily! I like their additions and who would have thought. They can be challenging? {XD}

That's true, I remember when I watched Marriland's Japanese coverage and when he first went to Castelia City, he "accidentally" talked to Morimoto and thought he was about to be thrown a team full of Level 70+ Pokémon. xP

Although even then, Morimoto just uses fast stuff while Nishino uses high HP stuff.

Morimoto caught me off-guard in the original BW; I had just completed the Pokemon League and was exploring Castelia city. At that time my team consisted of 'mons in their late 50s, so I was severely outlevelled by his team. Most of them weren't holding items either, so Acrobatics from the elemental monkeys pretty much just dealt a OHKO with every hit.

In BW2 I battled them almost daily because their teams give out huge chunks of exp. points. Unfortunately once you're on equal footing in terms of level, they aren't very difficult to beat. The bulk presented by Nishino's team might still prove to be annoying if you don't have a strong Fighting-type though.
