Not to confused with the one about which one is the nicest.

So, what age do you feel more comfortable with? Do you have a mental age that's younger or older than what you are? Do people often judge you at times because of it? Or do you actually act your actual age?

For me, I never act my normal age. I'm actually far below my typical age level. A lot of people don't even realize I'm 27. I had this friend of mine who found out my real age a while back, and she thought I was about 18 or 19 at least. Mentally, I'm between say an older child to a younger teen. Maybe between 7 to 14? It really depends on my mood though. A lot of it is also due to my special needs. I have a lot of developmental delays that aren't typical for my age level.

Anyway, I'm more curious about what you guys feel about your mental/physical age. ^w^

I don't think I'm more comfortable with any age in particular. I find myself in a weird limbo. I think I say "I swear I'm five years old" at least once a day, but I don't like being with kids. I reeeeally don't like being with teenagers and I didn't even like being one when I was lol. I feel like I missed out on a lot of teenage things when I was a teen, but that's another story for another day. I'm definitely not an adult and people my age are okay I guess? I don't even know.

I think I just like hanging out with myself. lol

Edit: mfw i missed the question, i mostly hang out with people my age, slightly younger though since i'm an older college student so that's that lmao

I generally get along with all sorts of people regardless of age. It comes down to their personalities, really, at the end of the day.

I'm 26 and I would like to think I act my age. However, I have many younger cousins and second cousins between the ages of 4 and 13. Because of their family friends, I oftentimes end up spending time with them and I get along with them just fine.

The same applies to kids in high school to college level. Depending on their outlooks on life and their own mannerisms, it can be night and day. I could get really impatient with them, or I can equally just have a ton of fun chatting it up with them.

For the most part, likely because in the professional environment, I'm usually around yuppies between the ages of 22 (fresh college grads) and early 30s. Inevitably I spend the most quality time with them.

TL;DR I get along with pretty much anyone. Get at me.

I like hanging out with people within my age range, so anyone between 16 and 20+ is fine. I don't mind talking to people who are older, but I wouldn't feel comfortable forming friendships with people much much older than me, like someone in their 30s or 40s would just be awkward. I can form a decent acquaintanceship with an older person if we work together or something, but an actual friendship with them would just be too awkward.

I prefer to associate with people in my own age range (late teens or twenties). Hanging out with a person over 30 would seem kinda awkward, though I do know some people in their thirties who have similar interests to me (i.e. fond of video games). With people over 40, I don't have much in common with them. I can tolerate kids more than most people my age, but I don't want to hang out with kids.

I admit, my mental age sometimes is more around 14 or 15 than 20 (my actual age). But I feel like today's generation doesn't care if you act younger or older than you are.

I'm 25 but most of the time I don't really feel it because of my developmental disabilities. I'd say I act more around 16-20 than I do my age, like just beginning to be an adult because I don't have much life experience at all either.

I actually get a great deal of dysphoria over my age because I feel I should be more mature and put together but I'm not, I feel like I shouldn't be my age at all.

As for people I hang out with, I don't really hang out with anyone, but my one friend is my age so.

I am your age as well and when I was younger, I got along better with people 5+ years older than me. I was mature for my age but now, I can basically relate to any age group but most teens around here (not on HERE or some other forums I enjoy, but real life) drive me nuts. They are all so self centered. I would say 24 to 34 is my main range but I get along fine with some teens and some people much older.

I would say I can be as immature and silly as a 10 year old or as mature and wise as a 40 year old Harvard graduate. It depends on my mood, the subject, and the people I am around.

I guess I act older than I actually am since most people assume I'm around 25-30 years old. Well, on the internet at least, since I don't look that old, haha. I'm actually 20 years old, but I mostly hang out with people older than me. My roommates are both 27, so that's mainly why. We get along just fine, and our biggest fight happened when I accidentally left the eggs sitting on the counter overnight. And if that's our biggest problem, we're good to go.

I can't be around people who are younger than me. It's a maturity thing, as I'm not really one to act like a complete goofball, and I'm a bit more on the serious side. I don't know how to handle kids and teenagers, so if I'm stuck with them I tend to get stressed out very quickly. I blame high school for that. Ever since getting stuck with someone who wouldn't stop making farting noises and commenting on how juicy they sounded as a lab partner, I've had less tolerance towards those kinds of people.

It depends on how you view me. Emotionally speaking I could be said to appear to be a little less mature, along the lines of perhaps 14-16. Of course this is far from how I actually feel; I can hold my own on an adult level and even exceed that. I'm surprisingly very emotionally aware, so I can tell when something has me stirred up. On that level I feel fairly wise.

On a more mental level, more relating to personality; I probably don't seem much older than 18-21 normally. People tend to be surprised by my age, since my appearance and apparent projected maturity seems to be around 18-21, not 27. It tends to catch people off guard when I get actually serious about something then come off as much older and wiser. Some even react poorly or don't take it seriously...which is something I find to be immensely irritating. I may be pretty relaxed usually, but that doesn't mean I can't be competent! :3

I can't hang out with kids. They're obnoxious, and when it comes to online, I prefer to talk to people way older than me. That should give you a hint, as for mental age, I have issues with that, I'd say I'm mentally 14. u_u Maybe.

i tend to stay away from people who are younger than 20. i don't get along well with anyone below that number, i've come to find. even at younger ages it was the same deal; i've only ever bonded with older people. (and i prefer it that way haha)

not sure about mental age, but it must not be very low considering the former information.

I've always hung around people my own age and a bit older. As long as I'm in an atmosphere that dictates a certain type of behavior, I can get along with most people, no matter the age. The way people act can really depend on the people around them, and to me it seems it's less so about age. A sixteen year old will act a whole lot more childish around thirteen year olds than around eighteen year olds.

My mental age is probably exactly my actual age if you assume age tells you much. I can be serious, but I have some very childlike tendencies, and remnants of puberty.

Mentally, sometimes I act 17 and other times I act 27, haha. I'm physically 23.

I feel like I am 17 often because I lack some social developments. I live at home and my parents still have a ton of influence -coughcontrolcough- on me. I often don't feel like an adult nor able to make some adult decisions. I find myself looking for an adult without realizing I am one. A majority of my co-workers are around 27 so I am able to fit into their group. They have called me mature and they thought I was their age. I am more comfortable around people very close to my age, plus or minus 1 year, but don't mind hanging out with someone between 19-27.

Then there are days I act 5 and want a bag of gummi worms while standing in line at the grocery store.... or days I get excited when my dad is cooking and uses a bay leaf and I explain to him about the Pokemon called Bayleef... My mom really likes saying Chikorita...

I'm comfortable with kids ages 4-13 as I used to often mentor kids or babysit kids after school. I like volunteering and helping out when I can.

I've never changed a diaper in my life sooo I would be a wreck if placed in a room with a baby.

I can't hang around with anyone who is under the age of 18 on a serious note. I just can't as they're uneducated and immature usually and don't really have the same sense of humor as myself. Plus I enjoy alcohol

I'm pretty much the mental age of my own age as i develop.

Exactly the same here. I've found anybody under 20 to only bring drama into my life (Although I have met 30 year olds who have done the same :P)
I think a small part of me is always going to be ten years old, but my cynicism would put any senior to shame; I have yet to meet someone more cynical than I am...and I'd be too cynical of such a person to acknowledge them if I did. So I suppose I'm your average individual in their mid-twenties who hops between extremes of upper and lower age mentalities. Or something. I'm often childish and immature, but who isn't? We all have our little slip-ups, and habits or prejudices that aren't really seen as appropriate for someone of our age. But then, my views are far too bitter/cynical/pessimistic/opinionated (delete as appropriate) for someone of my age...or so people like to tell me.

I find myself typically surrounded by people between the ages of eighteen to twenty-five, give or take a few years. My interests are commonly shared by people my own age though, so it's not surprising. I don't pay much attention to how old someone is really, but more how they act. I have met some highly mature people in their early teens, and some thoroughly obnoxious and bratty people in their thirties. I wouldn't hang around with anyone in real life if given the choice, and online age doesn't really mean anything in terms of someone's maturity or conversational ability...well, it isn't as solid an indicator as it might be considered in real life interaction.

Most people I hang out with are usually ages 18-22, although there are one or two that are older than that. It just happens that all the people I know are college students that graduated high school around the same time as me. Although I will say that age really shouldn't be a reason on why or why not to hang out with a person.
