Hi,

I have patched my English BPEE emerald rom with the Emerald 850 ups, however, none of the pokemon show up. when I go to the pokemon editor (in GPE) , only the gen 1-3 pokemon show up. How do I make them appear in the list?

You need to copy the INI from G3HS.

It can't read the extra data added without the INI.

But I am not use GH3S, I am using PGE. Or is gh3s a must and if so, how do I integrate it into PGE?

Oh, considering I haven't started hacking yet and have no knowledge of any programming language apart from Lua, what do you recommend me to use as rom? I haven't seen a rom patch that adds the gen 1 to 4 Pokemon to your rom apart from the emerald 850 one. I'd like to hack in firered considering it has a lot more resources available, but there's no patch to immediately add all gen 1 to 4 pokemons.

Not currently a patch, atleast not a good one.
Honestly, If you use G3HS on FireRed. It will expand the pokedex for you then its just as easy as inserting sprites, icons, and all the fun info.

I'd say make an hour tops to insert gen 4. Sprites that is.
There is a thread around here with 64x64 sprites for gen 4 and 5 and they are ready to be inserted.

Well, another question; I've downloaded 2 PNG files that have 'tiles' of all kinds of houses in HGSS on it, but how do I make these work as tiles? How do I use these in my map?

They're many tutorials around here on tile inserting.
Just go to the top of PC and use the search feature.

Couldn't really find one... I have 2 PNG files that contain a lot of different sprites in the same PNG, could you give me a link to a tutorial on how to insert these into advance map editor?

Thanks, when I searched for guides I mist have been using the wrong terms because all I found were unclear, outdated guides.

Anyways, the first question remains; how do I make the new Pokemon appear in the already patched emerald rom?

If you want them to appear in A-Map then look at this:

DL that A-Map 1.92.
Get the total number of pokemon in the rom then convert it to hex
then do what the pastebin says and hex edit the client.

Not in A-map but in PGE (Pokemon game maker).

I am using an tileset, but the result is really.... bad.



how do I fix this? I can't contact the maker of the tutorial because he is banned (why?).

Grrr, I followed his whole frigging video of 30 minutes, just to end up failing again. The colors did show up, however, I only get errors after I've pasted the above image, thus making it not work.... Can someone please give me some .dib files that contain cool sprites and that are WORKING? If you could do that, you'd be my hero!

The tiles are set to 16 colors so you need to group tiles of the same color and place them in the correct palette.

For example, If i were to do this, I would group all the green tiles I.E: Trees, Grass, Ect.
and since i am using fire red i would put them in pal0 or use pal6+ and write my palette color of my tiles there.
I said pal6+ because for the most part, those palettes are unused.

I'm sorry, im probably really dumb or something but I really don't understand this... Do I have to add the tiles in one by one, or can I just use the whole PNG file?
