Have you guys played this game? I just saw a Youtuber play it for a little bit and it got me super interested. It's like a huge throwback to when I was in middle school chatting up on AIM. It's an interactive game where you chat with a girl Emily and it kinda just leads to branching paths depending on the choice you make for a reply.

Something about it feels super creepy but at the same time, Windows XP's layout and AIM and relationship drama is crazy nostalgic lmao. I'm downloading it right now as I type this and I'm excited to play.

Just tried it! Finished my first playthrough, probably will try it again later and see if I get something different. It makes me kinda sad because it reminds me of how I've grown apart from people I used to really care about.
Spoiler:
Was interesting to see how the conversations evolved over the years, with how enthused Emily used to be to talk to the end where you have to start the conversation, and how effortful it was to keep her talking. But that's just my ending, I don't know if there's a happier one lol.

Spoiler:
I started to get kind of uncomfortable when the 'romantic feelings' came out, if that's what you meant. :P I dunno, I know she's not real but it also felt kind of intrusive when she was talking about her feelings and stuff lol.

This game made me sad :( I played through twice, trying different conversation paths each time but I guess the ending is always the same.

I never used AIM and was never incredibly familiar with Windows XP so a lot of the intended nostalgia didn't have an effect on me. But the general situation is all too familiar and I guess it's pretty good at displaying how you and a friend can drift apart like that.

Not only did the way she talked to the main character change, but the way she typed changed too. She went from using emojis and more "casual" IM chatting in her senior year of high school to replying with capitalized letters, punctuation, and blunt sentences in her senior year of college.

This game was pretty sad, and honestly I was expecting a completely different ending than what it is, but it's still a very effective and powerful ending, if not more than what I expected, even. It's something that I think just about everyone can relate with.

Spoiler:
Regarding the choices that are picked too, I watched YT playthrough of it and the guys I watched invited her to the dorm, where they apparently hooked up. The next year, she goes on about how weird it made her feel, which was the most interesting part to me because that was the beginning of the downfall of their relationship. She mentions Mike hesitantly too, did something happen between her and him? Idk, I can't figure out what she's thinking about what happened. Does she regret it? Does she feel guilty? She seemed very eager and excited to go, and she proposed they meet up right after she finds out that the main character wanted to kiss her too, so... idk wtf is her deal lol.

Super depressing man :( I don't want to do a second playthrough, but I mean there just has to be a 'good end' hidden somewhere. or at least if you're always a dick there's an end that doesn't crush you.

Man I'm not one for depressing games, but I like the concept of it. I'm curious on the various outcomes you can get so I'll be playing it tomorrow when I get up.
