Is there anything you've had to completely stop because someone didn't approve of what you were doing? (Such as "lending" someone money at school?)

I had to stop reading the Narnia books because my parents think the depiction of the Calormenes is racist. My mum doesn't even want me to see the films anymore despite the fact that the Calormenes aren't even in them. It's a shame because I think they're great books and I don't think they're as racist as my parents say they are. And yet they let me read books that are much more racist (a lot of Middle Eastern literature - including many Middle Eastern fairy tales - contains heavy racism towards blacks).

I also had to stop wearing hipster glasses because my girlfriend said I look like an idiot with them on. I thought that they were kinda cool, but now I get her point.

Normally, I'm not to stop things because someone disapproved of it. My imam told me that I should stop doing competitive swimming and try a sport with a modest uniform, but I ignored him and continued swimming. (My imam is very ignorant - and a sour prude. He actually thinks The Arabian Nights are a European forgery instead of genuine Middle Eastern literature.) I think it's better to listen to your heart and not blindly follow authorities.

Oh no. That's awful... I feel your pain, pal. I for one have had to do many things to convince people that I am a real man who definitely totally isn't gay. These things include the following:

1: I have started posting pictures of women with particularly large breasts on Facebook every week with a cool caption such as "wow i'd bang her 11/10 hot stuff!!!"

2: I drink a protein shake first thing in the morning, for lunch, for dinner, and for supper. Also I go to the gym and post Instagram pictures so all the *****es can appreciate my fine, beautiful, ripped body... not that I appreciate the male body! I also don't look at myself or my pictures just in case they turn me gayer.

3: I flirt with all the chicks and when they tell me to stop I'm like "haha do you think I'm gay or something ;)" and carry on.

4: I've removed all female vocalists from my iTunes library and all male artists where their singing pitch exceeds 100Hz have been removed as I need my music to make me a manlier man, not a sissy, jeeeeez.

5: In order to reduce my gay score, I also retweet the opinions of all famous/well known homophobes in order to help teach everyone how to win against this contagion. People who assert oppressive opinions are so sexy... I mean right. Right. Definitely right.

6: I wear very dark colours and very rugged boots and walk with a brisk march where I stamp my feet in a loud and very manly way in order to assert how definitely not gay I am. I have dyed my hair black too because that's the least gay hair colour isn't it?

make what you will of my true feelings towards changing things about yourself for other people.
Sarcasm, its what social able people have, you know wen you go out and meet chicks just not on forums 1,000,000 miles away from you and you ask them what color underwear they have. - Aristotle, 355 B.C
