He means we can't automatically control them XD

Albert Einstein

Benjamin Franklin

"Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty – a beauty cold and austere, like that of sculpture, without appeal to any part of our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of paintings or music, yet sublimely pure and capable of a stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show."

ANNOY ME AT YOUR PERIL. I am becoming increasingly tired of the unmanly elitism and closed-mindedness of certain members who shall remain unnamed.

To be honest, i don't see it as a huge problem ^^; our reason for having the width and height limits are purely because they annoyingly stretch out the screen, while animations tend to be quite small. If animations are a problem for people then i would just suggest disabling signatures ^^;
I don't really mind either way

Like i say, im pretty neutral to either side, and i don't really mind about the outcome.
Again, i'll say that layout stretches and heavy scrolling are the reason for having limits to height and width, but size isn't as much of an issue. If you're using dial-up and you're finding problems, disabling all sigs via user options would be your best bet to save any bw limits you may have ^^;

Mwar, personally, when I'm on dialup I just tell IE not to show images [if I come here on dialup at all]. Anyone else can do the same thing. FireFoxers can use Adblock to shut the bigger ones off.
OHHHHH I got Adblock and it's great. XD

Anyway I'm on Dial-Up so yes it does take time to load them images. But once I have them cached I don't have to wait for them to load again (untill I clean out everything). I myself don't care about a limit because if I really really disliked the sigs with large file size I can always turn off sigs and PC would load twice as fast (and working for the best if PC takes time to load for you).
A limit would help members that has 24kbps (I have dial-up and I can get on with at least 49kbps then PC loads fine for me). But if you have internet that slow you should have sigs and maybe even avys turned off anyway. I mean a 500x300 bmp file is 439kb (440 when uploaded). Sometimes them are the same size as some gif files. So we would also have to put a limit on bmp files.

Like Claire I don't really care for the outcome. But to me it's just a lot better to turn off your sig if everything takes too long to load (if I was someone with really slow internet I would turn sigs off).

I agree. Even on cable people who have TV clips or some huge *GIF file take for****ingever to load. We definently need a file size limit.

Even if it's only one poster, if they post multiple times in a thread... x_x;;

That sprite animation is only 113KB. o.o; Takes about 20 seconds to load on dialup, but still...
its still annoying. to see 10000 billion of those on 1 page is like... sensory overload

I agree, why should we have to disable all sigs including those that are text-only (like mine or Ty's) or only have a small banner or button (like Danny's) just because some people choose to ignore common Internet courtesy and include a massive file in their sig?
