I also remember getting my original Gameboy for my fifth birthday, so excuse me whilst I curl up in despair at how old this topic makes me feel. 2009 is not nostalgic. xD;

I upgraded to a DSi XL from a DS Lite around the time HeartGold and SoulSilver were released here, so mine doesn't hold that many memories for me, especially since I don't have it anymore; I gave it to my little brother a few years ago. My original DS Lite, though...I was so excited when I got that.

I think i got a dsi a few years ago, but I left it on a bus one. I was a stupid kid lol

I liked it a lot, but I found that the cameras on it were useless and there were only a few games on dsiware worth caring about. Not a bad upgrade but I didn't feel like it was as big as going from the 3DS to a new 3DS. At least with that you got a second analogue stick and 3d that actually worked, the dsiware just didn't seem that useful of an upgrade.

Imagine that. I remember getting the original Game Boy as a birthday gift, so how old does that make me? {XD}
It's about the same for me, though I can't remember if it was for my birthday or Christmas. It was a yellow Game Boy Pocket and I still have it to this day.

I never owned a DSi, I only ever got a DS Lite and then skipped to the 3DS. Not sure if I missed out on anything doing that, you guys will have to let me know :P

Same as Wiicked, I had a DS Lite and jumped to 3DS from there - I think I didn't want the DSi because it didn't seem like a significant enough upgrade to me, plus there was no backwards compatibility, and I like my GBA games. :P

It's matte though, I like that.
