Like in every game, each gym in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has a unique design based around the gym's type. A lot of them are based on the original designs from Ruby and Sapphire, but with some major graphical upgrades thanks to the capabilities of the 3DS. Some of them even got complete overhauls, like the Mossdeep and the Dewford Gym.

So, did any of the gym designs really stand out to you? Which ones were your favorites? Were there any you didn't care for? How do you feel they compared to the original designs from RSE?

I really loved the redesigns to the Gyms, taking great advantage of the 3DS graphical capabilities. My fave of the redesigned Gyms was definitely Wallace's with that waterfall now making look like a Water-type Gym should. Flannery's hot springs was awesome, and Brawly having his Gym with fitness equipment makes it more fitting for a Fighting-type Gym.

Conclusion though, the redesigns were all great.

i was actually relieved there were no annoying puzzles or hurdles to go through to get to the leader. not that any gym that i can remember was all that challenging to get through, just tedious. Plus it's not fair... i know this is a silly point but with gyms like the rock guy in XY, what if i was in a wheelchair or physically incapable of performing the necessary tasks to reach the gym leader? would i just never get that badge?

At any rate, simple, and charming is perfectly fine as long as you drive the point home to what you represent in your gym. Just being in a cave and surrounded by gravel would be good enough for a rock gym. (like how it's represented in ORAS)

i honestly don't remember any of the gym layouts from the original Hoenn and to be honest i hardly remember the ORAS gyms either without looking them up lol.. but I definitely remember liking Wattson's best.

I liked Wallace's gym redesign the most. It was pretty and I loved the waterfall. While I also liked the appearance of Flannery's and Liza & Tate's gym, they were mildly annoying to get through. I don't mind gym puzzles, but I don't particularly enjoy watching myself float around a gym or go through 5 billion doors so I can fight every trainer before I fight my dad :P That said it was really great to see the gyms in 3D

To be honest, I did not like the redesign of the Mossdeep Gym. The mystical floating and voids of the Gym just don't fit with Liza and Tate's design. I can see why they did the design, wanting to emphasize the whole moon theme, but the spin tiles were the whole charm of the Gym back in RSE and I would have liked to have seen them return.

Otherwise, I really liked the redesigns. Brawley's really stood out to me because it finally felt like a Fighting-type Gym (while before it could have worked as a Water-type gym too). My favorite though was probably Winona's Gym, which definitely kept the best parts of the old design while looking really great. The new wooden feel to it made it really fit in in Fortree City.
What are you so afraid of?

I miss the spinning tiles too :c But I kinda liked the change, since we've seen the spinning tiles thing in so many gyms previous. I don't think we've had anything quite like the levitation pathway in the new design, so points for uniqueness.

My favorite part about the new Fortree Gym was how you can see outside at some points. Such a neat touch, gives it a nice natural feel :)

I thought the updated look of Flannery's spa-like gym was absolutely gorgeous, especially with the Japanese maples in the center of the gym. Norman's gym is another one that had a really pretty update, in the room where you battle him especially. All of the gyms had really nice updates, even if the puzzles and general feel of the gym didn't change all that much.

The lavaridge gym was in-depth amazing with details and effects compare to original it wasn't impressive and Mossdeep no longer have annoying arrow tiles like they used to have on the original as it totally confusing and dewfort gym bit easier to navigate now. I still dislike sootpolis gym because of the ice tile puzzle is more confusing than before.

I really enjoyed normans room of the Gym, I know this may sound strange but how clean the floors were. And the dojo esc feel to the gym and the simplicity highlighting the normal type theme of the gym.
I know exactly what you mean! The glossy floors are a really nice effect and makes the gym look really pretty.

My favorite gym would be Wallace's. I really like the design of the gym. One thing I never really liked about the gym is the ice puzzle.
Haha I actually liked the ice puzzle, but it was pretty tough. One of the harder gym puzzles, for sure.

Winona's gym is way easily my favourite gym in ORAS. It's so natural and gorgeous, and I especially enjoyed the little puzzle thing there was going on
Yes! It is really lovely, and it fits in with the Fortree City theme really well.

Mine probably that Electric Gym and it has black walls and it has stairs and platforms at different height above the ground.
Yea, that was a nice effect. Made it feel like a much more modern version of the original Mauville Gym :)

Lavaridge is my favorite :D The cherry blossom tree at the end of the gym is the best touch, it's beautiful!

But first before I get to the main topic, I would like to applaud Brawly for recreating the infamous Gym Gym from Gen I games with gym in a Gym!

When it comes to designs, I would say appreciate the design of the Mossdeep Gym. It feels mysterious, which is the image of the Gym's related type.

However my favorites are the Fortree Gym and the Lavaridge Gym! (:

imo the petalburg gym is one of the more unique and interesting gyms I've seen in all the games. Being able to choose how you move forward and what challenges you go up against.
The other one would be the mauville gym mostly for nostalgic feels

Another thing made better about Brawly in this game, not just his Gym, is the fact it's now designed to fit a Fighting-type specialist much better. Looking at his original Gym design (and even his original Sugimori art) you wouldn't even think he'd use Fighting-types.

My favorite gym would be the one in Sootopolis City. I love the design of it very much. My least favorite gym would be the one in Mossdeep City. I never really liked that puzzle (if you can even call it that). It always gave me a headache. @[email protected]

My favourite Gym redesign was Lavaridges. There was a lot of nice detail there and I did not realise Flannery had so many Gym Trainers.

I also liked Rustboro Gym. Whilst there were no puzzles similar to the original the fossils in the series made the Gym feel more unique to Roxanne.
