Ah, so your first game was a mystery dungeon spinoff?
|
Yeah, I remembered the anime at the time when I got it, and saw the word Pokémon, so I got it and loved it. It was later when I found out that the PMD games were spin-offs. I didn't really enjoy Gates to Infinity as much as the first two games, so I hope that the new one is much better! I see that you're starting to like it, so do you think it's worth it to get for Christmas? I've been eyeing that game for a while, but after being dissapointed by Gates to Infinity, I don't know if the new one will be better or not.
Also, the drawing in my avatar was made by MasterMRU on deviantart a while back, but I still like it and it makes for a great avatar everywhere I go.

Can I ask what's the basic storyline in your Hack ROM?
|
For right now, I'll say that it's not going to be anything like a standard Pokémon game, so you won't be going to gyms or anything. We made the game to be a comedy hack, and the plot revolves around defeating the evil Team Majora before they crash the moon into the earth. Seems familiar, right?
Also, I'm right now in AP Computer Science in high school, but I already know a bunch of Java, so I'm right now working on using LWJGL (What MineCraft uses) to make a platformer game.
I agree with you that Diamond had some flaws (battles and surfing was way too slow), but I feel that the region made up for it by making it feel more like an interconnected world. I liked how you had to go to old places to reach new areas, and it helped a lot that you got Fly early in the game, so backtracking was much easier. Although Black/White had the best plot in a Pokémon game for me, Diamond and Pearl had a great region that had a lot of variety.
Thanks for responding!
