Since Remote Play became a thing I've been actually wondering... why?
Don't most people who buy console for themselves (if you buy it for family, you probably aren't gonna use Remote Play anyway :D) own their own TV?
So... why streaming to something else?

Additionally, considering that the PS4 has livestreaming capabilities and has fairly robust hardware that is actually dedicated to gaming, the only way I see this being useful is for people who want to play their PS4 games when their tv is in use by someone else and they either dislike or do not known a Vita.

If it does happen to resemble Vita's Remote Play functionality, then to those who try it I say to them good luck. Because playing PS4 games on the Vita has been hugely hit-or-miss for me, even when the router, the ps4 and the vita are in the same room.

There are a couple reasons. PC's on a monitor is in a more convenient space, you don't have a PSTV/Vita/ space, you don't feel like moving your PS4 everytime you want to play on a different TV, Laptops are mobile and have larger screens than Vitas (plus you probably actually have a laptop). So basically convenience for convenience sake- can't see much reason why having it would be a bad thing or unnecessary.

Plus remote play's restricted to 720p and 30FPS, whereas if the unnofficial is any indication, this will at least support 60FPS and probably 1080p.

I'll probably never use the feature. If I want to stream a game then I will just do it form my console; if I wanted to stream on PC then I would just play a game from my PC. Just to clarify, we can play PS4 games over to PS Vita? I don't really know much about Remote Play.

Yup. You just turn PS4 on, pair it with Vita-tan, start PS4 Link on Vita-tan and PS4 screen gets streamed to Vita-tan. =)
Then you control the game through Vita-tan. 2 and 3 buttons are through touch screen.
