Right?!

I can't ever see us getting an artificial one (sorry not sorry). We were the first ones of the tree lot to get one this season and it makes everything smell amazing. We're going to the Christmas shop tomorrow to get some different ornaments for it. :D

I've never had a fresh tree :< we've always used the artificial ones since we bought one when we moved back here that was like crazy expensive and was supposed to be just like the real deal but without the smell and the mess. Then we just never got another.

I think pretty much nearly a huge ton of people in my area use fake trees. I do live in an area that's very hard to come by real trees plus you don't have to keep throwing out fake trees every single time.

We usually always get a real tree, even though cleaning after it's gotten all needly is kind of an ordeal
Though I agree, the smell of fresh tree sorta is like one of the best we have in our home then, aside from cookies and mulled wine :3

My mom always prefers putting ours up on the first of December. We also have a fake tree with lights on it. The reason is because of my allergies plus the mess real ones always make. I do enjoy the smell of pine though, but that's because I lived in Maine.

I can't wait until December to put up mine :( It always goes up the day after or the day of Thanksgiving for us!

Tbh Pretty much 99% of the people I know don't bother in getting a real tree - especially other Asian families round here. Honestly it's easier, less of an effort and cheaper for us to just pull out the fake one we've had for decades and put it away when Christmas is over.

Living in the desert and all, I think just about everyone in the area uses artificial trees. But even when my family lived in Michigan, we used fake trees, anyway, because it was less of a hassle for us for a lot of reasons, haha. I don't really mind, and I don't think that'll ever change.

We always used real trees. The small of pine is just amazing and we tend to keep ours up for the longest time after the holidays lmao. We used to just throw our old tree into the backyard since we had a few acres but since we don't live there anymore idk what we'll be doing this year with the tree. Guess we'll see when we get to it. Whenever that'll be.

Our family has always gotten a real tree every year. We each spend a while decorating it with our own personal ornaments and stuff. Our dog loves coming with us and running around in the snow while we look for a suitable tree. The last few years though, having snow on the ground when we go has been... not as consistent. Just doesn't feel like Christmas as much anymore. That and I lost interest in said holiday in general as well. :d

We have someone giving us an artificial tree for our apartment, so we're gonna use that. A real tree is pretty cool, but we kinda have to take free stuff when we can :P

We've always gotten fresh trees! The smell of pine is so nice. My only issue with us getting trees recently though is that my folks are putting hideous decorations on them, whereas in previous times they put much nicer things on the trees. But nooo, my mom just had to convince my cranky grandmother that an 'all-silver' decorated tree is much nicer than the actually festive (but yes, multi-coloured) decorations they used to hang up. :(

Omg my mom did that too! Except it was an all-Victorian styled decoration she wanted to do. I kept telling her that in a way it looks nice, but using only one, bland colour is boring. So we eventually went back to colourful!

Perhaps I should do the same, see if I can get them to change their mind this year, haha.

We can't do real trees in my house, since the smell gives me migraines. Plus, it's such a pain to clean up after a real tree.

There's also the fact that we don't decorate for Christmas every year, so it's easier to keep an artificial tree in storage to grab whenever instead of worrying about finding a real tree when it's close to Christmas.

We put up our artificial tree today. Kinda think we should've waited till December but oh well. Pretty sure we've been using the same tree for my whole life, so it's kinda old. I never really got the appeal of using a real tree, but it's probably better that way. Less expensive, and if my dad wouldn't make me haul it out back and chuck it in the woods he'd probably chop it up and try to use it for firewood but then not use half of it ever and then we'd accumulate a bunch of chopped up Christmas trees/fire wood that would just eat up space.

Unless you can find me a mini-tree or something to put into this apartment, then there's no tree being put up here, artificial or real. Hasn't been one in this apartment ever since I moved into here, I can't be bothered. Although I haven't seen anybody use a real tree in like...ever, really. Not that I've known of, at least. Maybe I have seen them in use and just didn't realize it.

(Sudden thought, maybe I should find a bonsai tree and a small string of lights, and that could be my christmas tree.)

We've always used a fake tree, but in recent years we've put up Scentsicles...which you basically hang inside the tree and they make it smell like a real tree. They're only like $3 on sale and last most of the season, and real trees smell amazing so it's worth it to at least get a little bit of that experience.

My household has always put up an artificial tree. I wouldn't want to put up a real Christmas tree simply because of the amount of care it'd need, such as watering and also the fact it can pose to be a fire hazard, especially with the factor that the lights can get hot enough to cause the tree to catch fire.

What kind of plant lasts, dead, with green leaves for even one week, let alone two decades? Are they treated with some sort of preservative?
