I dunno if this is the right place to post this thread in.

So i'm kind of bored of playing Pokemon normally, and i want to try something different. I don't really mean nuzlockes since i absolutely suck at these (i'm very clumsy and my pokemon faint a lot) and i don't think i have the... well, calmness (i have some short anger problems). So, i'm asking is, can you guys give me different ways of playing Pokemon whether the rom's randomized or not? I'd highly appreciate it!

Currently playing Pokémon Blaze Black/SoulSilver
Next up are Pokemon LeafGreen, VoltWhite 2, probably X, then either US or UM.

Try either of the two popular ones here:
  • Monotype Run: Only pick Pokemon of the same type, for example if you want to do a Poison Monotype Run, try using only Pokemon of Poison-type.
  • Solo Run Only use one Pokemon throughout the entire run, although you can put HM slaves on your team. For example, if you want to do a Furret Solo Run, catch a Sentret/hack in one very early in beginning of the game, then use it until the end of the game.

You can find more ways here. Have fun!

Currently playing: The Ultimate Rodent Solo Run Challenge Marathon
Pokemon Blue Raticate Run: (8/8) (COMPLETED)
Pokemon Silver Furret Run: (16/16) (JOHTO + KANTO + RED COMPLETED)
Pokemon Sapphire Linoone Run: (8/8) (COMPLETED)
Pokemon Pearl Bibarel Run: (2/8)
Pokemon White Watchog Run: (N/A)

Thank you, i'm very interested in the Mono-type challenge. I'll probably do it in a randomized Black 2 rom or an Emerald rom.

What's "playing normally" supposed to mean? If it means that you abuse the EXP Share to get overpowered Pokemon and don't set the battle format to SET, so you can just switch out when your opponent is trying to send out something that can cause you trouble, then you might wanna try not using the EXP Share and switching to the SET battle format. Additionally you can add restrictions like not grinding at all, or use Pokemon you wouldn't use normally, especially those that aren't as powerful.
