I get jealous when my friends are promoted to staff roles (whether it'd be mods, BSS or SMT) and I get left in the dust. Especially if it's a role that I could I have done so well in. It's like when your friends make it into the cool kids' club and you're rejected.

idk if I'd call it jealousy, but sometimes I am kinda like "I wish I had/was [insert good quality here] like [insert username here] has"

I don't think that it's something to get jealous of really. Some people glamorize being on PC staff way too much -_-
You don't have to be on staff to be a (major) contributor to the site.

I can see what you mean. Sometimes I feel like everything I do gets uncredited, without me knowing it.

.....I suppose you're not entirely wrong, that what the memberbase does in general isn't always given the recognition it might deserve. But I know that without the memberbase, this site wouldn't quite be what it is today.

I just feel like one of the unfortunate ones, and have to try harder.

Legit too many people I'm jealous of ahah.. Gonna avoid posting names but list groups instead.

The big players in the ROM Hacking forums. I want to get involved so badly because I honestly believe I could contribute and help a lot (especially artistically), but I just don't know where or how to start. I've lurked the section for so long just trying to absorb all the information I can, and I'm always in awe of what those guys are capable of doing with pixels and programming. What I would give.. </3

Also big time jealous of the major A&D regulars. Some of you have no idea how talented you are and how far you're going to go. And in some cases I've gotten the opportunity to watch you develop your skills and grow into truly outstanding artists. It's really an amazing thing, when you think about it. I wish I could do half of the things those guys are capable of.

Then there's PC's welcoming group. Some of the sweetest, most helpful, outgoing, and well adjusted people I've ever known. Each one of them is like a tiny drop of sunshine that makes PC better and I want to make as much of an impact on our members as they do.

The mods who are capable of and active enough to mod two or more forums (or be involved in social media / battle server) too. I wish I had the time to dedicate to PC like that and I wish I was active enough outside of A&D to help another section develop. I'm jealous that I just don't have the ability to contribute the same amount. This applies to hstaff as well, those with the time and dedication to keep PC afloat and operational. I'd give a lot to have that same level of devotion. You guys rock. <3

There's a lot more I could mention lol

@Hikamaru: Don't put yourself out like that. No one could ever say you haven't made astounding contributions to PC and done wonderful things since you joined. The bold username barely means anything.

Are you sure? I had always been seeing things give off the message that an ordinary member can't do much because they are so limited. Still reeling over my failed SMT attempt... but next round I hope I do better.

To be honest, you don't get any magical powers when you become staff. You get a button to stick threads, but you don't get a secret list of Good Ideas To Try to draw from. Mods are a prominent figure, but they can't keep the forum activity by themselves, and not everyone is full of ideas of events to do. Everyone will appreciate help. Don't let the "being a normal member" be a deterrent from offering all your ideas for events.

I'm wondering if this counts as being jealous or whatnot... but sometimes I wish I could be like a handful of active users like Hikamaru, Dragon, Sheep, Castform and many others, who brings many positive moments to PC in overall.

I'm jealous of my own sister and cousins. All of them are very outgoing, talkative and love meeting new people. I love meeting new people however I'm not very outgoing or talkative. I'm a very shy person and it takes a while for me to open up to others.

Jealousy towards someone isn't really the term I'd use but there are a lot of people I admire. My fellow welcoming committee are some of the best people I've come across and I'm happy they continue to go above and beyond to make new members feel welcome. Can't imagine myself no longer posting in that forum.. it's always a pleasure seeing users you welcomed on the day they joined go on to become active regulars in the future. Very rewarding so those of you who continue to welcome deserve lots of thanks. You know who you are.

Then there are exceptional people who strive to make PC the best it can be and have impacted PC immensely in their time being here. Klippy has had an especially positive influence on the forum and have done a lot to change it for the better (and I usually don't like to name names for these sorts of things)! I try my darnest to work as hard as you do.

But then... yeah.. oh my gosh the artists like Kirby said. PC is such a creative community and it makes me wish I drew as much as I used to. So much envy. I mean have you seen some of those art galleries??? Not to mention the slew of amazing fangames user've made as well as the really great writing/roleplaying community. It's great to be a part of that -- creativity is PC's strongest point imo.

I appreciate the compliments (and select insults) I've gotten in here, but I've always had the same philosophy when I've been on PC: Do my best to make it better. When I was a member, I just wanted to contribute to Video Games to make it a better place. When I was a mod, I just wanted to contribute to areas I liked and staff matters to make it a better place, and now especially I strive for that goal.

All that to say that every member contributes in some way, whether it's welcoming fresh faces to the forums, making the Underground PC's fastest growing area, or submitting ideas and feedback to Community Support, and beyond that. Being staff is rewarding, certainly, but it's not what makes being on PC great. I've never had a better time on PC than the last year being involved with the Underground. It's the best community I've been part of on PC as the entire movement to create it began with less than ten members (not staff) who wanted to try "one of those mafia things" - then they adapted, evolved, and pushed for its creation into a sub-forum, which grew so fast, we immediately needed a main index forum! The only staff intervention in that was clicking a few buttons to make the area and approving the area. Otherwise every member that's been involved over at the UG contributed and led to its roaring success.

I personally admire people who have talents in coding, art, or writing that far surpasses my own. Amazing signatures, profiles, and themes for PC, beautiful artwork to display on our social media pages, and imaginative stories and worlds created just for the sake of a roleplay or mafia game are far more admirable than simply being a staff member on the forum.
